I like the bobber idea but i can not have it because i am not seasson rider, i ride even in minus temp or light snow from home to work or else where . my bike is in my channel if you like to see.
You smack the brass piece out with a file or chisel and hammer and a 45 ACP shell tabs right in leave the lid for the casing out so you can extract it later if you want to

Hi, sorry to bother you. I'm getting an xvs1100 on the weekend and I'm planning on making a bobber from it. May I ask where you sourced your reg plate bracket/light and seat bases/seats from. I watched your 1100 video and was mighty impressed. Love the fit and finish.
Hey Clean Nuts. When can I get the 12mm compressing brass endcaps. I have been advised that here in ireland they only do 10mm or 15mm. Nothing in a 12. Any help you cannoffer in sourcing is greatly appreciated..
My question is, on a mildly tuned Star 650 ( debaffled & rejetted with modified airbox) is there any performance gain from removing the AIS? Or is this mostly just done for visual aspects? It for sure looks much cleaner with all that junk removed.
No performance gain from removing AIS its just there to reduce emissions when tested It maybe illegal to remove in some countries I didn't like the way it looked

We do not have smog testing here, so I am in the clear if I want to remove mine. For now. Till they do something stupid like ...................... change the law 3 days after I remove it. hahahaha! What is it with everyone doing Bobber builds it’s like going backwards in evolution you take off the suspension and put 2 little springs under the seat, just don’t try and ride any distance and make sure all the roads you use are new.

I always wondered what that black thing was on the left side of the bike. Now it seems I can take it off and throw it away

Dragstar is the european name for them - V-Star the American name. Same bike.

You don't take off the suspension on these to Bob them. They use the stock rear suspension.
