Hooooold on a minute. That Dior saddle bag was BRAND NEW with the tags, and came with a matching wallet. Out of curiosity I did some quick Googleing. That bag alone is worth more than £500. It's brand new! I understand if the other bags need some work, but that bag was pristine.
It depends on design and brand on resale market. Even though it still with tags if you aren't a registered reseller the item is automatically tagged as second hand. On the 2nd hand market is very fickle thing, the market tends to go classical designs and not the unique design ones. In our family we usually pool in our money to buy our mom chanel bags, my brother always says we will select the classical design ones.
It really shows how human James really is nothing to do with the riff raff he deals with. Mark was a street sweeper (which only means that he isn't a millionnaire) but he has a great eye for good items.
I didn't expect so much heart and humanity to be behind a pawnbrokers business. All the staff have been so personable and were so incredibly kind to do the cane thing for the silver enthusiast guy.
They pay approx 25% of the current retail value. It's pawn shop prices. You can earn a great deal more selling yourself but you have to deal with the headache and potential scammers and returns. For some people it's just about the fast cash.
As an avid vintage Chanel lover, instead of the pawn shops she could take it to a consignment shop. There are so many good ones in London. They would do all the work for her selling it and she would earn a much better price.
What a beautiful man James is. This makes me have faith in the world, knowing a successful buisness man like James is honest. Well done to everyone in the show. You're all fantastic. Love from the potato family 💚
Yeah so many times she is taking ppl for a ride. That limited edition bag, brand new with the tag is worth way more than what they first asking. Sometimes if you ask for a lowball amount I think Claudia sees it as an opportunity to jip ppl
Y’all need to understand the market for handbag resale is like the market for clothing resale. Most people don’t buy used, and most items are not worth what you pay. Yes, certain vintage items can be worth a lot but they must be in fantastic condition, and these items aren’t durable. They’re not made to last a lifetime outside of Hermes who makes everything by hand.
Fascinating array of goods & never a dull moment. Great wit, great cast of real characters. You couldn't script it any better. Would be fun to work there
shes forever offering such a tiny amount for their bags, unless they are rich and famous. shes a complete crook. good thing most of them say no to her.
Just found the show and am loving it. My only complaint....they are assessment VERY expensive items, and the work space looks like a dump. The lady assessing the bags has no room and could easily damage things on her own. Would expect a more upscale environment. Ian is awesome though
That would mean you have to deal with all the riff raff. These Posh people are not going to do that. These items you cannot put on Facebook Market Place
Pawning and selling are 2 different things. Pawning is getting a loan with your item as collateral. You can still redeem your item back within a period of time by paying the loaned amount plus the interest set by the shop. If you want to sell outright, it would be best to eliminate the middleman and just do it yourself. However, this show is old, maybe 10yrs ago or something and the options we have now might not be as available to people back then.

what percentage does that pawn shop get when selling an item? He does not say that part of the business. Even if one pays back the loan, how much does the pawn shop get?
