Considering it's made by one person, the level design is just amazing.
These episodes are always amazing and I love the lengths you go through to really shout-out folks in the community and give them the spotlight they deserve.

Went back and checked that waterfall afterwards and we found out that there was a ledge sticking out just far enough for me to hit on the way down. He literally made it impossible for people to swan dive down that 🤣

Said it in the stream chat, I’ll say it again: this level pack is the Final Doom Plutonia Experiment of Tomb Raider, but with boulders instead of Revenants.
I can't wait to see someone play through Tomb Raider Kingdom.
If I played this I'd get boulder based nightmares for weeks

Back in the days the first Sabatu's level I played was Mount Parnassus. I used to call it Mount Pallassus ("palla" means "ball"/"boulder" in italian)
This said, my GOTY for this year is the Sabatu's Tomb raider 1, hands down!
I love Sabatu's reimagining of the original TRs, they are so vibrant and full of life, but in all honesty I don't think I have nowhere near enough skills to actual play his levels 🤣
Oh, it's not just this; if you play Sabatu's other levels, you'll notice he has quite the obsession with boulders! 😂 Great video! One TRLE I'd recommend you check out at some point is Dracula's Return, it has some really cool puzzles, though it can be cryptic!
The moment you brought up the boulders, my reaction was a small giggle at first whitch turned into full blown laughter.
Loved the ending bit with the boulder rolling towards you and then boom.
Yaaaay! Someone finally noticed that bit, thank you! haha
This was the one level set I wanted to desperately play, but had no idea what I was getting myself into. Being a huge fan of the original game, I wanted to play something that harkened back to it, but gave me that same sense of awe and wonder I had when I first played it in 1996. Basically, I wanted to play TR1 again for the first time. And well.......Sabatu's Tomb Raider happened!
Havening completed it, I felt a HUGE sense of accomplishment, but in order to get there, I had to become not just familiar with the type of mechanics I see speed runners and glitch players employ, I had to master those mechanics. With this game in my rearview, I look at the original CORE Design games and wonder how I can exploit them to solve the puzzles more easily or skip entire situations altogether.
In the end, it did scratch that "again for the first time" itch, but MAN was it a challenging run! Well worth the time and effort, though!
I can't count the amount of times I jumped on my chair from an unexpected boulder or spiked pit. The strict time limit and difficult curved jumps tested me to my limits, but I managed to beat it. I too got stuck on the tile puzzle in St. Francis' folly, so it wasn't just you. It was a great experience overall and it made me feel I'm playing TR1 for the first time again. The expanded levels made me feel in awe and I can't wait to play Sabatu's TR2. That ending part with the boulder in your video was brilliant 😂
Yup, that stream was quite the time. And that lava ramp jump was fucking mental! Thank god that was over, and you went straight to another I won't spoil!
I have been searching for the first part of Sabatu's Tomb Raider on your twitch channel. The earliest I find is already in Atlantis. Can someone give me the link? I really want to watch it.
I do have some VODs backed up on my channel though sadly all of Peru is missing as Twitch removed them before I got round to backing them up.
But if enough people would be interested in watching them then I can certainly make them available to watch in the future.

Lol yeah sabatu has become quite infamous in the community for his boulder use. some other builders have started a meme where they paste "sabatu was here" near their boulder traps

I had to agree with Folly as I got stucked here for 1 hour although the special tile was on the ceiling of the pillar I did not noticed
Yeah as I played with version 1, Sabatu had to help me during my stream with the jumps you called a girrafe :)

It would be cool to incorporate some of the mechanics of the modern games let's say the rope grapple swing like from anniversary but in ps1 graphics in the level designs for the custom maps for tr1
Just completed Sabatu's City of Vilcabamba. Yep, punishing and hugely enjoyable!
Didn't find out tho how to open the underwater door in the left-hand side vertical room in the "town hall" (jagged red roof building). There is a passage visible behind a golden lattice door...

Sabatus TR was sooo gooodd i loved it so much!! ,yet it took a toll lol nowadays i only play shorter trle
I've been playing this TRLE and I'm stuck on the cage puzzle in the colosseum. That time limit is very strict.

I cant call myself a master TR player like speedrunners but I can call myself a good classic TR player so I am gonna try this out and most likely give up 10 mins later :)
I also got stuck at the beggining of St Francis Folly, and thought the puzzle was unfair (and had to resort to a guide), but overall, I'd say this game is even better than the original. That's right. It's better than TR1. I would have changed a couple of things in some areas....but overall I REALLY enjoyed it.
I played and finished this game and would only recommend it to true Tomb Raider experts. Some parts are ridiculously difficult.

I loved the atmosphere and creativity of this game but I think some parts were just way too hard. I'm a veteran tomb raider so I enjoy a good challenge, but I remember at 9:04 absolutely hating that part.
No word of a lie... that part drove me insane
Ah yes, 9:04. I had like 75 deaths in just that one level alone!

It's a shame about the difficulty level. That along side the awful TR camera made it utterly unfun to play.
