XD ) #Pro anyways it adds a great modern touch:3 XD and it awesome:333 XDD I'm pro at this stuff ishhh:)
+Flex Official I know the other stuff behind it, and I just said the basics. I know there's more, and my dad is a DJ. And I know how to DJ, but before you make fun of me and become my sworn enemy, do you know how to DJ? And know many other DJ's? And yes I do:3
i'm 14 and i do my music in logic which is a software for mac but for doing sets, you can have the equipment which every dj has or have the equipment in your laptop/pc/mac software (forgot the name)
Been a dj for 3 years and this is not good djing at all haha I mean it’s good for a started but he started with a $8000 setup. And some were smooth transitions but most were not. Djing takes time to learn and experience over time.
Plus they only showed transitions that were successful (almost) and I bet he didn’t hit all of his transitions 100%. Also it was a chosen playlist with bpm’s from 120-130 so it ain’t that hard to beatmatch.
Yeah, this would be pretty much basic. There are the mechanics of DJing then there is the art and the art separates from the rest. Then someone didn’t put a challenging playlist together (if someone threw in a couple rap songs that were slow at 60-70 to give him some half time beatmatching).
I like that dude said it takes more time at the end of the video but it's the same with anything. Give a guy a guitar, a guitar teacher and a week to learn how to play one song, he will do it just the same as this guy dj'ing. He can do it but it's definitely something that just sounds like a beginner. Props to the dude hosting this video either way. Cool experiment for the most part.
I love how people categorize producers and DJ’s into one big discipline called ‘EDM’ damn the amount of difference between producing and DJing is actually pretty huge (I know most producers DJ and a lot of DJ’s produce but they’ll know the most how different they actually are)
Nice... And remember, DJ-ing is not only doing transition from song a to song b. DJ-ing is kinda like playing guitar or other music instrument, if you can play guitar with 3 chord songs, then yes you can play a guitar. if you can do transition between two songs smoothly, then yes you can DJ-ing. but are you a good guitarist with that basic skill? that works too in DJ-ing. there are still more technique to learn and more creative mixing skills to explore. IF the question is only "can anybody become a DJ?", YES. "can anybody be a DJ in a week?" YES, or even less than a week (if the standard is just to do transition between 2 songs and simple fx). Also, you have to know that DJ is not playing the full song instruments on stage, they play tracks, and they are not the one who make the song, EXCEPT they are DJ/Producer. DJ/Producer is a DJ that also a producer, or, a Producer that can DJ-ing. A good DJ is not always a good Producer, Not all DJs can make their own song, Not all Producers can DJ-ing. Most famous DJ that you maybe know, is DJ/Producer. Can anybody be a DJ/Producer? YES, but it can't be in a week cuz you'll have more things to learn and practice. I hope this information is helpful, cuz some people still have misconception about that.
Jason Smith djs who don't use hi mid and low extensively aren't good ones but there are some who use those what you call "completely useless knobs" well and extensively to do more than perfecting the live Sound and to even mix well layers of tracks over other ones and more so they ain't useless as u mentioned at all for good djs who know how to be creative and use such small things for others to be big things for them.
2 types of 'DJ' in this world: - Producers that can/do DJ - DJ's People need to stop assuming just because you're a DJ you spend days in a row working on tracks in a studio
+Matches_Malone the technical aspect of DJing is just one thing you have to be good at. Reading a crowd, being able to make smooth transitions and being able to handle the pressure of being the center of attention for an hour with all eyes and ears on you are things you learn the more you DJ in front of people. But you probably won't get to that level unless your productions are solid/really good. So being a DJ in this modern era is more about production and feeling than just technical skill. Like Dada Life said in their video, generally speaking anyone can learn how the technical points of DJing but DJing is not just all technical. There is much more beyond that. So don't be insulted! :)
George Hypotenuse and the Triangles Well of course, in that manner of speaking, everyone could do it. But that **with enough practice and passion**, in my opinion, wasn't communicated well enough in this interview. To me, it came with more of a "pick someone off the street and let them work the records" tone.
Anita Khong You can hear the track you have loaded on the other deck that isn't playing, so that you're able to match it to the song playing through the speakers. Then you can bring the volume to the speakers.
Anita Khong basically, they let you listen to the track that isn't playing, without the crowd hearing it, so you can make sure the tempo is matched and the part is *CUE'D up to where you want it. * (It's called the cue mix)
Joe Bailey When can I get this new turntable with a "sync" button? Also, there are song that would confuse a computer. Humans can better tell the bpm of a song.
DJs are artists. The level of physical skill may not be as required as with a guitar, violin or cello, but musical art is having a vision, passion, and creativity to create something special. I respect all artists, no matter their field. And I know I cannot DJ.
Haha saymyname is dope but you can tell he doesn’t look at DJing as a professional would. He just knows the performance measures not the technical measures
@@lukebmx137 he's primarily a producer so he doesn't have to know much about DJ'ing except transitioning and picking the right track. Most Producer DJ's are like that including me.
Anyone can DJ, thats no mystery. But very few have the skill to produce music. Hell, people like deadmau5 says all the time "DJing takes no skill", which he is 100% correct. And he is a DJ himself (Well, He is more a producer then a DJ, but still)
DreTaylor No. Its because he cares more about producing music (Requiring MUCH more skill) then DJing. And besides, he is one of the few "DJ's that do it live, others like Avicii, david guetta, ect usually do their sets prerecorded, and funny thing is, is that those guys are known more for their sets then they are their actual music. Unlike deadmau5, he is known more for his music, and not for his sets. (Which is funny, because remember, he is one of the few that still do it live.) And like I said, DJing doesn't take much skill :)
But it's still a skill because first of all you might think is twisting and pressing buttons right? Wrong, you need to memorize which buttons to use or not and know what they're call. It takes time to know what you're doing. It's best to do it in a young age like 12-14 because you won't forget easily.
Dante Zazueta I know. He also has "Unhooked" sets where he does just live DJing (Not planed) and then he has his normal sets that he normally plays at festivals and stuff.
I dont know anything about djing or producing. I would figure that producing is the hard part. I just need to mention that Deadmau5 isnt the most credible source, he is absolute trash at playing the crowd. I saw him at a festival and it seemed everyone in the crowd was generally disappointed.
Lene Rush Yes, exactly that. My point was that, the very fact that it is a _question_ whether or not someone can become a semi-proficient DJ in a week is so incredibly ludicrous. I am a professional jazz drummer and teacher. I know a _lot_ of guys who've shed 8 hours a day for years and committed every aspect of their life to becoming the best musician they can be, who barely make a modest living. And just as many people put in the 10,000+ hours and don't even make it. They end up going back to school to pursue law or something. A Buzzfeed employee found that becoming a DJ in a week was harder than he anticipated? Lol, you see my point. Joelajuie Pdp Dilla forever!
Pazkizzle most popular DJs are musicians ... they make their own tracks - the fact that (some of them) dont use real instruments does not demean their music
+Pazkizzle Djs are musicians. I play piano and guitar and I dj. Djs are just as good musicians as people who play instruments. Don't try and differentiate between a DJ and an instrumentalist because they both play music, and that's the definition of a musician.
Lol it's freakn easy. You transition songs that already exist and colliding them together. Music producing is much more complicated. Making the tracks is the hard part. Performing is easy. What studio do you produce in? I'm at jump studios for now.
JamFilms Trueee, everyone has a lack of respect to DJs nowadays probably because the lack of use of them in music today, not like the the 80s - 90s. From this video people probably have even less respect now.
Literally anybody can DJ. My friend was drunk at a party and decided to dj, so he downloaded a dj app on his phone and dj'ed the whole party and everybody was pretty happy with it.
WeActOnImpulse Official Thats because DJs entertain the crowd and impress other DJs - 99% of the time - if the DJ makes a mistake the crowd will not notice because they dont understand it - if your friend was drunk - probably most of the party was too - and they dont care what he does as long as music is still playing - DJing is easy , yes - but GOOD Djing - it takes time to master and be decent at it
WeActOnImpulse Official you can sat the same thing about a piano player - just pressing buttons - a guitar playet - just playong with strings - you dont get it do you ?
Ah I know I'm going to sound like a hater, but I swear this vid is a SLAP in the face to real DJ's. "Anyone" cannot DJ and you really can't get that down in a week in reality. 😓 Take away the sync button, pro equipment, pro trainers, chosen playlist, camera edit cuts, and if the whole set was played I'm sure it wouldn't be the same.
tbvh Yeah I don't think U would learn how to DJ In a week, but if U were just covering the basic fade in and fade out and your basic baby scratch then that would at least take U 3 days to learn then the rest of the 4 days to practice those techniques.
Djing itself is quite easy to learn, heck, you wouldn't use long to learn how to scratch as well. But to get on the A-trak level, you're gonna have to put in some hours for sure. But then there's the thing about reading a crowd, either you can read 'em or you can't. Just like with singing, either you can or cannot sing, same goes for the crowd. Now, you can arguably somewhat learn both, but you're never going to be as good as a natural born who knows how to use it to his / her advantage. I think Skrillex once said something like he thinks it is funny that people think that djs / producers don't have any talent just because they make everything on their laptop, and that just shows how new this type of genre is. But then again, I can see why it gets a bad reputation thanks to certain DJs using ghost producers. Don't be lazy people!
they all have ghost producers, they have to. when being on tour for so long you don't have time to produce new tracks and you need to be constatnly releasing new stuff so..
I like how you deleted your comment responding to mine. It does still show up, you know that, right? I was planning on writing this whole message about how ignorant and pathetic you are, but you know what. I realized you're simply not worth my time. Have fun being stuck while the rest of the world moves on.
I think the hardest part of DJ'ing is song selection. Obviously festival DJ's can do whatever, sort of, but whenever I DJ smaller venues in comparison (100-500) I have to really hone in on what to play next/what is actually danceable because you can lose a crowd so easily.
Djing is more about reading a crowd and knowing music styles really well. Half the time its just showing people songs they’ve never heard before that they really enjoy. Some crowds want house music, some want trap. The actually djing part is pretty easy, 8 beat and 16 beat transitions are easy
Forbidden Spades I mean pro setups are generally harder to work with, but I think the only reason is bc he was taught the laziest way and he had a few ppl teaching him
ShedSessions Official he was only switching between songs for extended periods and used the filters way too much. He didn't do any drop mixes, scratching, slides, continuous mixes and a lot more that he could of been done. Don't get me wrong he did ok for one week but he was taught just the basics and that's it.
what would be your biggest tip for a guy just staring? I love old-school house, hiphop, funk and all I wanna do is play all the different music I like and mix it together
prettymigzu I would say learn software first. Then go ahead and buy a controller. Few tips, -Crossfader and Sync are ok to use -Samples are also ok -You can adjust the key of a song -Practice as much as possible -If possible, try not to rip songs off of SoundCloud -Watch other people to learn tips -The time it takes to learn can vary upon the person, someone might learn in a few months or in a few years -Only buy lights/professional speakers after you have your actual dj equipment -Make sure that the controller you buy is compatible with your software -DJing for free is a good way to learn how to read a crowd -Don’t assume you have to produce to be a good DJ -Try to choose songs with similar tempos to making transitioning easier. That’s all I have to say. Hope you have a fun time being a DJ!

LJM2stepspain just like all the parents call every single platform a gameboy
He actually did really good especially for a week. I'd love to try haha it seems fun.
+Cheo Samad Learning to DJ literarly takes half an hour tops .....like honsetly it is soooo easy it's not even cutting to just mix two songs....i have to start producing live with remix decks just to keep myself entertained :))
I'm actually part of a DJ family XD! And Djing?? Is that what you could say it? Anyways, basically you need good smooth effects, and smooth and matching transitions:33 XD it's fun:33 and I suggest this online program you can use its great for novices and experts! It's called the DJ home system? I think that's what it is XD! And but if you want an actual like DJ turntables I suggest the pioneer, ( and some other numbers maybe? XD ) #Pro anyways it adds a great modern touch:3 XD and it awesome:333 XDD I'm pro at this stuff ishhh:)
DjGamingDoggie you know nothing about DJing do you :))))) well maybe you could fool anyone that went to that competition but other than that....
+Flex Official I know the other stuff behind it, and I just said the basics. I know there's more, and my dad is a DJ. And I know how to DJ, but before you make fun of me and become my sworn enemy, do you know how to DJ? And know many other DJ's? And yes I do:3
LOL...no he doesn't, you just rekt that punk congratulations... Got em... Got em good.
This is structured like an SNL skit
I don't know about anyone else, but I'd DEFINITELY buy a ticket to this show
I agree 100%
saaame
Just to get a signature from say my name
I definitely would not Bieng a dj I know talent when I see it
lmao stfu hes good af
Damn if he can do it, I can do it. I wanna learn how to be a DJ!! Been wanting to be a DJ for a long time
Very expensive.
David lee Barrientos pick up a guitar instead
Very VERY expensive
you don't need any equipment to start, you only need a mac or a pc/laptop and the software,
i'm 14 and i do my music in logic which is a software for mac but for doing sets, you can have the equipment which every dj has or have the equipment in your laptop/pc/mac software (forgot the name)
I wanna know what it sounds like in the dj's headphones. Probably amazing
heyheychels The headphones are used to play the next song before it enters to the speakers to match it properly, so they can get the cue right.
heyheychels It actually probably sounds like an absolute mess, which is why you see them only wearing one headphone at a time so often. Haha
***** It does sound like a mess till its matched up. haha
Scott W Yeah because the beats have to be synced and then after that it sounds ok. It's the DJ's job to make it sound better than ok.
***** they put one headphone to be able to listen to the speaker and beatmaching with the master output
Been a dj for 3 years and this is not good djing at all haha I mean it’s good for a started but he started with a $8000 setup. And some were smooth transitions but most were not. Djing takes time to learn and experience over time.
I might have missed something here.. but, is DJing just the practice of changing the tempo to suit the next song and skipping songs?
JoshAU no
Plus they only showed transitions that were successful (almost) and I bet he didn’t hit all of his transitions 100%. Also it was a chosen playlist with bpm’s from 120-130 so it ain’t that hard to beatmatch.
rich people be like just buy the most expencive setup and dont know how to use it and just have it to show off
Yeah, this would be pretty much basic. There are the mechanics of DJing then there is the art and the art separates from the rest. Then someone didn’t put a challenging playlist together (if someone threw in a couple rap songs that were slow at 60-70 to give him some half time beatmatching).
So fucking sick! :)
That makes me wanna be a dj!
Just have fun with it and it's all easy going from there
Viktor Zivina oh god not one of you
I like that dude said it takes more time at the end of the video but it's the same with anything. Give a guy a guitar, a guitar teacher and a week to learn how to play one song, he will do it just the same as this guy dj'ing. He can do it but it's definitely something that just sounds like a beginner. Props to the dude hosting this video either way. Cool experiment for the most part.
Pause at 7:13 and look at Ned lol his wife would be proud
I thought that was Keith without his glasses lol
More 7:14
I think she would be proud at 7:08 as well
Sophie Wysocki
+kirsten cunha yes?
I love how people categorize producers and DJ’s into one big discipline called ‘EDM’ damn the amount of difference between producing and DJing is actually pretty huge
(I know most producers DJ and a lot of DJ’s produce but they’ll know the most how different they actually are)
If Paris Hilton can be considered a dj, then yes, you too can become a dj. Case closed.
+Michael Heffernan
If Kanye West can be considered a presidential candidate, you too can ruin the worl... The point is NO ONE considered them either.
+Michael Heffernan she is no where near an actual dj
haha! ladies have an advantage here! you can ge a really useless dj (mattn) as long as you are fit and/or topless!
ie paris hilton in pasties.
on the other hand, FERNANDA MARTINS absolutely rocks !! now SHE can DJ
bruh he reminds me of laidback luke
Yes!!!
Asian djs are the best
+Danial3W thought LBL was Dutch
Kevin Loftus He is half Asian(Filipino), like Steve Aoki.
Danial3W except Aoki isn't an actual DJ
Louis Upton yo reply is cringy than anything else
Good points!
don't think anyone can produce as u mentioned tbh and so true that what he did in video is not all about djing. this was only the basics of it
Jason Smith djs who don't use hi mid and low extensively aren't good ones but there are some who use those what you call "completely useless knobs" well and extensively to do more than perfecting the live Sound and to even mix well layers of tracks over other ones and more so they ain't useless as u mentioned at all for good djs who know how to be creative and use such small things for others to be big things for them.
+DJ WildLion yes, you are right, sir :)
7:01 that was actually pretty sick
Saymymane made it big. Its so funny to see how he has progressed and found his own style after only a year. Much respect for the guy, Big fan!!
i loved this! loved the way he was enjoying himself aswell. some of the transitions were too dope. like 2nd one from 140bpm to 150bpm.
2 types of 'DJ' in this world:
- Producers that can/do DJ
- DJ's
People need to stop assuming just because you're a DJ you spend days in a row working on tracks in a studio
the song at 2:31 is called Kick out the epic motherf*cker and it's by Dada Life
Oh my Goooood, Ned's in that video and he isn't talking about his wife :O
He hasn't talked about her in a long time... Get with the new times... THE SAD NEW TIMES
+Alexandra Tarasova what happened?
I kinda actually want some of these songs on my playlist now :P
Same
Asking a professional DJ if what they do for a living can be done by anyone; I'd be insulted
+Matches_Malone Honestly DJs know that. If you're not a dedicated turntablist, it's really about production...
To me, it came with more of a "pick someone off the street and let them work the records" tone.
but you are 'anyone'
00:06 and my life is kinda crazy
I love how they just have a mini rave in the of a work day
i have a question, what does the headphones do?
Let's you hear the next song so that you can match the rhythm
Anita Khong You can hear the track you have loaded on the other deck that isn't playing, so that you're able to match it to the song playing through the speakers. Then you can bring the volume to the speakers.
Anita Khong basically, they let you listen to the track that isn't playing, without the crowd hearing it, so you can make sure the tempo is matched and the part is *CUE'D up to where you want it. * (It's called the cue mix)
they let you listen ahead to the audio to prepare without it playing through the speakers.
y can listen to the 2 tracks together before everyone else can here it
pick song + press sync = anyone can DJ.... you wont be a good DJ though
also, when is DJ Dead Body dropping his mix tape?
sync is Ez mode
Joe Bailey I pray for the world when it does. It will be so fire we won't have any chance to escape.
Joe Bailey exactly lol
Joe Bailey When can I get this new turntable with a "sync" button?
Also, there are song that would confuse a computer. Humans can better tell the bpm of a song.
And now a days you gotta make your own songs
I love how he had a whole new respect for djing by the end!
We have a carbon copy of Laidback Luke.
HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS BEFORE I LOVE DADA LIFE
that aint hard trap. thats Hardstyle with a trap drop
Yep
It's trapstyle (what his fans refer to it as)
+Firelite do you know what he song is called?
+Hypnotic Chicken It's all in the Description
hi ben :D
I absolutely love the fact that DJ'ing is so underrated in terms of skill and time needed to get good. :)
Anybody can play music, but not just anybody can DJ. There's a HUGE difference between the 2. Think deep.
I can DJ I'm Dj Apex
No you're batman.
especially when it gets down to adding turntablism and controllerism flavors
How close is producing to djing?
+Dirty Frog Nothing of the kind
DJs are artists. The level of physical skill may not be as required as with a guitar, violin or cello, but musical art is having a vision, passion, and creativity to create something special.
I respect all artists, no matter their field. And I know I cannot DJ.
3:31: „On this CDJ we have“...
*uses XDJ*
Lucas undso thats a cdj my bro not an xdj...
Andres Shamis it‘s an XDJ 1000 mk1. Google it. no cue points no jogwheel lights etc
It’s a controller tho lots of people just use the terminology of cdjs or turntables and a mixer
Deadmau5 is not a DJ. He has his own set up and has live performances. Like Porter Robinson, Madeon, The Glitch Mob
"Bonus points" was funny as hell.
Still have more respect for musicians. But I dig it
Pazkizzle
Haha yeah ikr, 1 week? Ever heard of the 10,000 hour rule? xD
+Triangle Emperor Timbale Mastur That if you practice something for 10,000 hours you are an expert on that particular thing. in that case I have :P
Lene Rush
Yes, exactly that.
Joelajuie Pdp
Dilla forever!
He looks like Laidback Luke.
That's funny
Black Sunday looks more like Marlon from Bassjackers
Laidback Joke.
Looks asian + somewhat tan skin = Laidback Luke?
Thats because they both are Filipino :-))
This was very nice, it is very great to see something inspirational like this once in a while
AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA!!!
+ANGRY TURTLE not funny
I'm so happy the guy that looks just like laidback Luke did this video!!
Can we have a compilation of the variations of ryan saying "i got slightly aroused there" and then the people's reactions
I'M HERE FROM THE PUNISHMENT VIDEO 😂
sAME
I'M HERE FOR RYAN AND CONSOLATION FOR THE SURSTROMING
sameeee
Rina Gracia sAME
I love your pfp btw c:
I DJ... most people think that it's easy. It's not as simple as you think.
well... no, it's not. There's beatmatching, scratching, entertaining everyone on the dance floor, seeing if they're into the song, etc.
Lol it's freakn easy. You transition songs that already exist and colliding them together. Music producing is much more complicated. Making the tracks is the hard part. Performing is easy. What studio do you produce in? I'm at jump studios for now.
... I produce too. And yeah haha by comparison DJing is simple
JamFilms Trueee, everyone has a lack of respect to DJs nowadays probably because the lack of use of them in music today, not like the the 80s - 90s. From this video people probably have even less respect now.
Exactly.
SONG AT 7:22!!!!!!?????? PLEASE
Darude - Sand Storm
+Local ma people
+X Spock saymyname - Rampage
7:00 song ign 10/10
Woah - Saymyname
Literally anybody can DJ. My friend was drunk at a party and decided to dj, so he downloaded a dj app on his phone and dj'ed the whole party and everybody was pretty happy with it.
+Iyana Lopez djay is a very advanced DJ app do not under estimate it
WeActOnImpulse Official Thats because DJs entertain the crowd and impress other DJs - 99% of the time - if the DJ makes a mistake the crowd will not notice because they dont understand it - if your friend was drunk - probably most of the party was too - and they dont care what he does as long as music is still playing - DJing is easy , yes - but GOOD Djing - it takes time to master and be decent at it
I never said he was as good as a professional dj. I simply said that anybody can dj, which is true. Anybody can dj.
Art Cristobal That's not DJ'ing that's producing. Like a Skrillex or Mike-Will Made-It
WeActOnImpulse Official you can sat the same thing about a piano player - just pressing buttons - a guitar playet - just playong with strings - you dont get it do you ?
Ah I know I'm going to sound like a hater, but I swear this vid is a SLAP in the face to real DJ's. "Anyone" cannot DJ and you really can't get that down in a week in reality. 😓
Take away the sync button, pro equipment, pro trainers, chosen playlist, camera edit cuts, and if the whole set was played I'm sure it wouldn't be the same.
tbvh Yeah I don't think U would learn how to DJ In a week, but if U were just covering the basic fade in and fade out and your basic baby scratch then that would at least take U 3 days to learn then the rest of the 4 days to practice those techniques.
Put vinyl decks in front of him theres no chance
Krystal Lake ....exactly
Haha train wreck for sure but props to the guy he did good for a week.
Krystal Lake still a million times easier than producing lol. I see what you're saying tho
BuzzFeed lit AF
Ryan just became one of my favorite person on buzzfeed
When using Sync literally anyone can play one track and then switch to another on the drop..
Jack Price i totally agree..
But it has to be a smooth transition
I personally don't use sync, because of this. Beatmatching by ear is a valuable talent
DJ Vertex same
But few people can do it well
4:46 omg I can't 😂😂 still love this though, sounded amazing for 1 week of training! 🔥🔥
SEUNGRI, IS THAT YOU IN A DISGUISE?
Bollywoody100 I WAS THINKING THE SAME MAN HAHAHA
Where?
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY LOL
looool awesome XDDD Cein : 3
Nikola Kurmele In the crowd! 7:50 ->
i've NEVER ever liked electronic music up until this video xD
Join the edm club brother !
It would be nice to have more of these types of videos, really liked it.
As an amateur DJ I could easily say that was impressive!!!. The result he got in one week did I get in one year...RESPECT!!!
HAHAHA I'm an EDM producer (16 years old). this made my day. I
it looks like dj saymyname is kinda annoyed
i remember watching this video when it came out. I went back and i cant believe he was coached by the king of hard trap
Wanted is one of his sickest songs!
he's just cringing at the moves
YB , propaganda remix
Sprii same....i amazed
Ghost production is basically just buying your way to success. Performing live is another thing.
yup. I heard the guys from DVBBS and Dimitri Vegas / like Mike had ghost producers, not sure if it is true doe.
they all have ghost producers, they have to. when being on tour for so long you don't have time to produce new tracks and you need to be constatnly releasing new stuff so..
"reading the crowd" lmfao the pseudoscience you failed "musicians" come up with.. DJing is easy, everyone does it these days
Obviously festival DJ's can do whatever, sort of, but whenever I DJ smaller venues in comparison (100-500) I have to really hone in on what to play next/what is actually danceable because you can lose a crowd so easily.
omg Dada Life seem like the sweetest people!!
"PROUD" student-teacher moment at 8:05
He was surprisingly good at doing it xD
I’m gonna be honest it’s not that easy to learn how to dj and this guy for real smashed it
Nice job
I knew it Dada life was gonna be related to this when i saw the people wearing the banana suits
The drop at 7:00 sent chill down my spine
7:45 shortest yeah boy ever
Djing is more about reading a crowd and knowing music styles really well. Half the time its just showing people songs they’ve never heard before that they really enjoy. Some crowds want house music, some want trap. The actually djing part is pretty easy, 8 beat and 16 beat transitions are easy
He needs to chill on the EQ and filter knobs though lmao, but he did good
he better then u
+Sports Animal you're not in a position to actually know that
+Sports Animal than*
4:33 YESSSS OHMAHGUH LOVE IT
He started with a pro set up that's the only way he could do it in a week
Nahh it's not.... its because it's literally not hard
Forbidden Spades I mean pro setups are generally harder to work with, but I think the only reason is bc he was taught the laziest way and he had a few ppl teaching him
What do you mean 'he was taught the laziest way'?
ShedSessions Official he was only switching between songs for extended periods and used the filters way too much. He didn't do any drop mixes, scratching, slides, continuous mixes and a lot more that he could of been done. Don't get me wrong he did ok for one week but he was taught just the basics and that's it.
You can still progress with using a crap program like mixxx tho
I've been DJing for the past 15 years and I'm still learning.
what would be your biggest tip for a guy just staring? I love old-school house, hiphop, funk and all I wanna do is play all the different music I like and mix it together
prettymigzu I would say learn software first. Then go ahead and buy a controller. Few tips,
-Crossfader and Sync are ok to use
-Samples are also ok
-You can adjust the key of a song
-Practice as much as possible
-If possible, try not to rip songs off of SoundCloud
-Watch other people to learn tips
-The time it takes to learn can vary upon the person, someone might learn in a few months or in a few years
-Only buy lights/professional speakers after you have your actual dj equipment
-Make sure that the controller you buy is compatible with your software
-DJing for free is a good way to learn how to read a crowd
-Don’t assume you have to produce to be a good DJ
-Try to choose songs with similar tempos to making transitioning easier.
That’s all I have to say. Hope you have a fun time being a DJ!
looks like the little brother of Laidback Luke haha
*Littleback Luke*
Jea
Omg finally someone realises. It’s his Asian Brother 🤣
He wishes 😂
Double L’s
