Hey Stevie Glad to see you upload. I was just thinking today about it. Keep it up Brother. Charlotte is flying. Hope NHRA isn’t too bad on the Screw Blower. Good luck Brother.
That 257 mph pass is the fastest I've seen a supercharged car go with the exception of one of the procharged cars that ran a similar number a few years ago. Hopefully I can make it to Charlotte in September and watch y'all run.
Turbos, nitrous, centrifugal, roots, and screw charging. What's fun is the variety. Gearheads like all sorts of car mods not just one, like F1 and their V6/one turbo/midget drivers formula.
That's why I prefer lighting rods for the Lenco. Don't have to fool with air pods. You've got it rolling. Hopefully we see Steve Fast Back TO THE TOP!!!!!!
Stevie Fast you should start a Prepped Kings series for ONLY 1/4mile racing, in my opinion the NHRA PROMODS are currently the BEST because they run the full 1/4mile & obviously many are afraid BUT I think you are the right person to start a 1/4mile Promodified series outside of NHRA with less stringent rules & it will be for the BEST of the BEST …
10:18 Steve! Isn’t galvanized pipe more susceptible to cracking and breaking due to harmonic vibrations? You might need more pliability and not so much rigid pipe.? Can the air lines be lightweight, black AN? Do you run 110-120 lbs. of CO2 through the lines?
I would stay with the screw blower.when the blower weather comes in even with the new rule change it's going to fly.that 257mph is a good sign of things to come.Good luck

The GREAT PACIFIC NORTHWEST LOVES STEVE JACKSON RACING!
Can somebody please explain the difference from a screw blower to a roots blower to a procharger? And why NHRA keep changing rules for each. Thank you guys. 👍
That's a big subject to handle in a RUclips comment. Screw and Roots compressors are positive-displacement, which means that they move a certain volume of air with every revolution. If these compressors displace more than the engine they're bolted to, pressure in the intake manifold will be boosted above atmospheric. Screw compressors (also known as Lysholm compressors) have internal compression, which means the volume between the rotors decreases as the air travels through. Roots compressors don't have internal compression, they cause an increase in air pressure by forcing a larger volume of air into the induction system than the engine below can pump. Procharger is a brand name of a centrifugal compressor that operates on a completely different principle. A centrifugal compressor has an impeller that accelerates air to high velocity, and a housing containing a diffuser that slows down the airflow in a controlled way, causing the pressure to increase. Centrifugal compressors are the most efficient of the three types, causing a minimum of air heating for a given amount of boost pressure. Plus, they take less power to drive than the other two types. Their drawback is they don't make much boost at low rpm, and must be spun up to impeller speeds of 50,000 rpm or more to get maximum boost. Screw compressors are more efficient than Roots, but take more power to drive. Roots blowers can be nearly as efficient as screws, depending on how well they are designed, but don't have high efficiency at the high pressures that drag racers run at. The other type of supercharging is turbocharging. This uses a centrifugal compressor, but drives it with a turbine section propelled by exhaust gases. The other supercharger types are mechanically driven by the engine, and take more power from the engine than does a turbocharger. Turbochargers take power to drive, but since that power comes from waste heat in the exhaust, the penalty is less. The NHRA keeps changing the rules in order to keep the competition close among the competitors that run the different types of superchargers.
Roots blowers have a basic sort of 2 lobe pair of rotors compressing air against the blower case. A modified screw blower or a full on screw blower turns the compressor rotors into literal multiple spiral lobed rotors, allowing much more compression, or Boost of the induction gases. Two lobes can only spin so fast before heat makes them extremely inefficient. Screw blowers are the hot rodded, modernized, badass uncle of the original roots blower tech. If ya watch top fuel, its a similar sort of physics concept to moving the blower forward on the intake. Allows more case volume to act on the top fuel cars intake opening, despite being restricted to normal roots style OG blowers. I think a Magnusson style supercharger is a screw style, and the OG roots blowers are akin to Mike Finnegans Blasphemi 1955 chevy. In all likelihood, youve gotte an answer already.
I'm curious to see what NHRA does to slow it down. Or if they go another route to make the roots and nos cars faster. If they made a rule change that you thought gave the nos cars an advantage, would you go that route? I know you can be competitive with any combo! 💪 #KTR #BAHRAIN1 🚀💯
