Li-Sa-X Band went on hiatus. But both guitarist Li-Sa-X & Hazuki (Nemophila) recruited a new singer (who's not as good) and they call themselves KOIAI.
Both bands gets studio musicians to play bass, drums & keyboards. When they tour (KOIAI toured India last February for a few shows) they hire touring musicians.

She was invited to play at Yoyoka's 12th birthday live one take session, and played Joe Satriani's "Satch boogie" with her. Insane.
You will also love some of the other performance from Yoyoka's birthday session too, if you like drums & some of Japans rock royalty playing with one of the best drummers around. Songs from Deep Purple, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Free, etc. As an engineer, I know you will appreciate the set up & the studio.

Enjoyed the reaction. As to the connection with Billy Sheehan, it's been said Li-Sa-X had tutoring from an early age by Paul Gilbert. You can hear a lot of Gilbert influence in her playing style.

Another great reaction. Very cool song. I liked her voice very much. A different pace for sure compare to Nemophila and other bands I listen too. Li-Sa-X is so talented. Great Musician. Hazuki is so humble too. She could easily be the lead of metal band. But here she is stepping back and supporting Li-Sa-X. She has her runs to here and there and playing amazing backing up Li-Sa-X. They come together at times like Her and Saki do in Nemophila but Li-Sa-X is mostly lead in the band compare to Nemophila where even though I would say Saki is the main lead her and Hazuki share it pretty evenly and their duo soloing is superb. Li-Sa-X and Saki have also played some together too. So many kick ass women guitar players coming out of Japan these days.

Hazuki is such a sweet young woman. When they were doing there US tour earlier this year in Sacramento I think it was . She didn't through the pick she was using into audience she actually handed her pick to some guy in the audience. Such a kind gesture.

If my memory (and math) is right, Li-sa-X had just turned 15 (edit: Feb 8, 2005) when this video was uploaded. So she may have been 14 when the track was recorded. In all the times I've heard this, it never dawned on me that there's no credit for the keyboard player. Though credits tend to be pretty thin on the ground for a few of her recordings. Or at least hard to find

      @guitarandy2406 Год назад +1

If it's the same as the Koiai EP, then keyboards & programming was mostly taken care of by her long term producer (again credits are thin on the ground though).

So this is an attempt at knowledge, but I’m not the expert. The Li-Sa-X band was formed by Lisa some years ago. Lisa is yet another child prodigy who recently turned 18 years old. Now an adult in Japan. Rina was the lead vocalist until something like a year ago. After her departure, she was replaced by Kotono, who was in turn a support dancer for Babymetal on a video and/or concerts as part of the Chosen Seven. Lisa changed the name of the band to Koiai at this time. Koiai has gone on to perform in Indonesia and India earlier this year, a couple of weeks before Nemophila toured the U.S. Both Li-Sa-X and Koiai are fabulous. I was fortunate enough to get an autographed copy of Koiai’s first CD a month, or two ago. I can drop a suggestion, but I’ll let you explore. One more thing, Koiai is performing their first concert in Japan later this year. If my knowledge, or spelling is off, feel free to correct me.

Great reaction, Jeremy! Been with Lisa-X for some 4 years now, she isgood and still evolving. This is very fine rock wine, well worked out and executed.
I am not a patreon per principle, but I would like to suggest another prodigy, actually 3, that you should give a listen: Asterism withe Hal-Ca on guitar. Two gotos are:
Rising Moon (she wrote this when she was just 12, here played at app. 14): ruclips.net/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/видео.html - And yes, that is a 7-string bass!
    Dawn: ruclips.net/video/buQPvINJcA0/видео.html
And - I keep coming back to this - SRV's Scuttle Buttin': ruclips.net/video/BtB_VrYLRaM/видео.html - done at age 16

Hazuki first started playing with Lisa X.. When she and other members from her old band, Disqualia (Narumi and Risa Risa) were Lisa's backing band.. After this, they must of became pretty good friends. When RINA left, the Lisa X band disbanded.. Then later was renamed as "Koiai" with the Addition of singer / dancer Kotono (Iron Bunny & Babymetal dancer in 2018). Hazuki was still using ESP guitars at this time prior to signing with Ibanez, just like Lisa.

    Billy recorded his part remotely.
The word “prodigy” gets thrown around way too much. In this case, it is fully deserved. Lisa-X has been posting music on youtube since she was seven, did credible covers of Dream Theater and Polyphia at 10, and has had her own band since she was 13. The main regulars in Lisa-X band were Rina on vocals and Hazuki, formerly of Disqualia and now one of the twin shredders in Nemophila.
Here are some links worth checking out. The first one is her 2017 appearance at the annual female rock festival organized by Show-Ya-she is up there with some of the best guitarists in the world and they clearly love sharing the stage with her. The third one is her collaboration with the even younger drum phenom, Yoyoka Soma, who is herself a force of nature.
    At NaonのYaon (age 12): ruclips.net/video/hbeW7Yuf-a0/видео.html
    With Hazuki: ruclips.net/video/mN_oLqTka6M/видео.html
    With Yoyoka: ruclips.net/video/B97HKxg4Cwk/видео.html
Overall, rock is not only in good hands, but arguably has been taken over by Japanese women. The future looks great!
