Hell yes dude. These bands were pretty much all I listened to in high school. But also was a huge fan of Nothingface, Spineshank, Systematic and Taproot.
Grew up on sitting in the back seat of my parents car hearing bands like korn, staind, limp bizkit etc. I’m 23 no and have been diggin for years. Glad I just came across this gem. Seriously underrated. My one wish is that I could go back during this era and live it as a young adult instead of a child
DWR was most commonly related to Linkin Park due to the nature of having two vocalists. DWR had a more drastic contrast because the singer wasn't also the screaming vocals; the rapper was. It made the highs of Jabe really create a wall for Grimm's vocals to bounce off of. Simply sucks they're not together any more.
R.I.P. Eddie The Kidd!!~DWR Was one of my Fav Bands that I got into in the Early 2000's and everytime they came to my Town I was there in The Front Row!!~Thought they were the Next big Thing?.. and I Still Listen too the Orphan cd and Blast That Shit! F-ing Classic!!!Never gets Old..Then They Broke up?!! I Was Shoked and Very Dissapointed...I Met Eddie and he Signed my Orphan Cd Cover!! I Will Cherish That Forever!!
Saw that tour in Lawrence Kansas when I was 16. Smoked a J with Elias from Nonpoint. I was REALLY into DWR at the time and they were phenomenal live. The crowd and band energy was next level.
As a drummer in a local band in South Florida when Darwin's Waiting Room came up it must be noted that that was a monumental achievement what they did. They got signed and actually had an album gain national exposure. Few know how rare what they did is
Darwin's waiting room was the second of act of my first concert with Primer 55 and Reville in 2001. I'll always have a special place in my heart for them and this era of nu-metal.
I first saw this band about a decade ago with Reville and Nonpoint. Used to listen to Orphan a lot back in the day. Stumbled across the CD a couple weeks ago and it's getting regular play again. Brings back memories of better times, and I think they captured the nu metal sound of that era pretty well. Too bad they weren't bigger, I think they had a pretty good sound for that time.
My favorite songs are the ones that sum up exactly what I'm feeling. Regardless of time, whether it's what I feel in this very moment, or the familiar sting of an unforgettable past, songs like this are invaluable to me. Sometimes we all need a reminder that we're not the only ones who have been hurt, humiliated or forgotten. This song embodies that. Thank you DWR.
I remember seeing this on a channel called MTVX when i was 9 years old. This is if Linkin Park, Incubus, Limp Bizkit, and Korn had an orgy and made a baby. This whole album was sweet. It's shame their guitar player died and they broke up.
MTVX was the shit. And this band deserved a better fate than it got. I mean, they had a little bit of Incubus in Jabe, a little bit of Linkin Park in MC Grimm, and a little bit of Limp Bizkit in Eddie and the rhythm section. They even had the oddball single material with Shaggy, FFS. You could not have drawn up a better nu-metal band profile if you tried - and then it all just disappeared. I remember that their label was promoting their upcoming album, and then nothing. Eddie mentioned that they were having legal issues and then poof! What kind of legal issues could it have been, I wonder? FWIW, I still listen to this album on the regular.
I miss them so much!!! I partied with them from high school in Miami through college... I remember the first time that they sold out a show in Gainesville... I can't believe their first album is on Amazon for 50 or 100 bucks!! Box and Mario Andretti were classics. I miss Jabe's hotness and Grimm's antics.... those were the days.
I forgot all about this band! I was just at old pictures from when I was a teenager and I saw a Darwins Waiting Room poster on the wall in my old bed room. This really brings back memories.
I remember seeing this on MTV2 occasionally back in the day. I also occasionally saw a short clip of this video on the TVs in the electronics department of the Target I worked at in high school in late 2001-early 2002.
I remember watching the commercial for their debut album on TV and my initial thoughts were "what the hell is that? That sounds so good." I didn't have cable until I was in my early teens, so I barely knew about nu metal at the time.
I saw these guys back around 2001 during a Papa Roach Tour, they definitely rocked the house at the State Fairgrounds in Tampa. For some reason just thought about them again. Still awesome music.
Technically, Orphan was the only release, at least through their label. They had an album before it called Devolution, which I think was self-released and in a very limited run. The second album, Apology Accepted, was recorded, mastered, and packaged to be shipped, but something happened contractually and it never left. I did manage to obtain a copy from Jabe, the leader singer after randomly running across him on Myspace back in 2007 or so. Everyone pretty much when nowhere after DWR.
There's no telling, really. I know I hate rap-metal, and I didnt really want to see these guys, but when I saw them in Atlanta I was really impressed with them. THey've got my respect for sure.
Darwin's Waiting Room is a band of Rapcore and nu metal band. If Crazy Town, Kottonmouth Kings, Cypress Hill and Papa Roach had a baby it would be this band. I would love to see Chino of DWR collab with Twiztid. I am a Juggalo, RIP Eddie. Whoop whoop!!!!!
Reveille's album Bleed the Sky is one of my all time favorites! It smacks you in the face at the start and doesn't stop till it rips through all 13 songs with great energy plus a great secret freestyle at the end
my old band actually got to open for them, Nonpoint, Crossbreed and Switched at a lil bar in Gainesville, FL. what I wouldnt give for these guys to get back together again
found out about these dudes when i was like 9 listening to my dads nascar cd, "fast car", shame they fell through the cracks would of loved to see them live.
its a sad coincidence that everything 'the kid' ever put his hands on has been cursed. Level 9, Darwins, Collapsing Lungs, Cold...never work with someone who has had bad luck in all his endeavors...they'll ruin you and bring you down.
Funny how the mind works. This song resurfaces every now & again. Never was a fan, respectfully, heard the song once about 20 yrs ago & it's encrypted! Lol... Reading the comments, I now realize, the melodies register similarly to my guy Brandon who I grew up listening to. & between him,Yorke & Homme are my fav whiteboy vocalist. (Chino is biracial, my #1 non-melanated)
saw these guys open for papa roach a thousand yrs ago damn what a show they really had more energy than papa roach that night def a tough act to follow.
2001 was a great year for Nu-metal music, Adema, I'll Niño, Unloco, Drowning Pool, Flaw, Darwin's Waiting Room, No One, Stereomud, among others.
In the words of Nonpoint “What a Day”
2001 was a great time to be alive!
@@nunchucktaylor3488 my man!
Speaking of.Wes remember Big Dumb Face?

instead, enjoy masks, forced vaccinations, inflation ,famine and war.
This.
if your 23 you're like 10+ years off bro, im 36 and was still young when this stuff came out
this song is 21 years old
Yea I’m 29 and missed it. So many Nu metal bands that were just a one and done but this CD is good. Jammed it today
RIP Eddie. He was a friend of my family. He used to work for my dad at CD Warehouse, back in the 90's
was a huge fan back in the day was a bandaid eddie will be missed
curtieson I do
curtieson I want it! How can I contact you?
curtieson I don’t want it anymore
May I ask how he passed away?
DWR was most commonly related to Linkin Park due to the nature of having two vocalists. DWR had a more drastic contrast because the singer wasn't also the screaming vocals; the rapper was. It made the highs of Jabe really create a wall for Grimm's vocals to bounce off of.
Simply sucks they're not together any more.
Such a great band! I was in a band with Eddie for a bit and was pretty wrecked to hear about his passing. RIP my brother and see you on the other side
So you have POD rapping, Brandon Boyd singing and Wes Borland on the guitar.
I was going to say Ryan Gosling and Giovanni Ribisi's secret love-child, but Brandon Boyd is also good.
Instead of sonny from pod, I suggest mcud from hed pe
@@alexisonfire2076 also from hed pe, Chad Benekos singing instead of Brandon Boyd.
More like Jahred Gomes from Hed Pe rapping and Mike Patton/Brandon Boyd singing lol
Dope!

Sad that he died
R.I.P., he will stick to our hearts and minds forever with his amazing guitar playing.
He signed my orphan cd too. had no idea he died until now.... RIP Eddie.
how did he die?
Calixto Gonzalez I heard he was out walking his dog and had a Heart Attack. :(
This band is the one band from my childhood I can never seem to forget. I miss these guys and RIP Eddie Rendini.
such a great era of new metal. wished they made more music cuz their album was tight.
I completely agree! I thought they were gonna at least grow as in making music for years to come, what a shame. I still love their debut.
Yeah. Same sentiments for the band boy hits car except I think they made a second album.
+Bobby Dawkins They actually had an underground album before Orphan, and an unreleased third one after it.
See, now I need both of those.
Nebula M Music got the names of those?
Saw these guys in Cleveland with Nonpoint, Switched and Reveille in 2001 at the Odean. Awesome show.
Whoa.
Sick af line-up
I know im a little late on this comment but that would have been an amazing show i love nonpoint and reveille
Saw that tour in Lawrence Kansas when I was 16. Smoked a J with Elias from Nonpoint. I was REALLY into DWR at the time and they were phenomenal live. The crowd and band energy was next level.
Man, I had a Switched sampler cd, and I’ve always wanted to hear the rest of that album
As a drummer in a local band in South Florida when Darwin's Waiting Room came up it must be noted that that was a monumental achievement what they did. They got signed and actually had an album gain national exposure. Few know how rare what they did is

There was a band called Orgy -- at the same time as the other bands you named :)
Actually loved mtvx . Was sad when it went away
@@leonstrydom1 i know and theyre awesome too! They broke up and members have another band called Julien K.

feeling this not old in 2019 , this style is like a fresh always .
Laying on a beach, with no one around you, baked by the sun, this playing in your headphones.
Life at its best
Definitely a good relaxing song to chill at. The beach on for sure 🤘
Darwin's Waiting Room, Dave Navarro, Twisted Method, and Pressure 4-5 defined my highschool experience.
Bro Pressure 4-5 STILL has a place in my rotation 20 plus years later
I've seen that trio live numerous times back in the late 90s. My old band even got to open for Crossbreed and Darwin's in Gainesville, FL

I loved this band, Most down to earth guys ever, hung out with them once after a show at the webster in CT
I would throw this into the conversation of top 10 best Nu-metal songs ever. Just saying.
Ha, my last name is Newsom. I'm not sure I'd put the song in top 10, but I'd put the album as a whole in top 10 numetal albums.
This album goes hard. Wish there was more than just 1 album
Exist a self titled album
2018 and still SMASHING FROM CHICO TO SAC WITH THIS CD!
Met this band back in 2000 in Buffalo, NY. Wish I still had the pics...
This is one of my favorite songs! From my teens to my 20s and now 30s
I saw them live with Unloco and Simon Says a LONG time ago. I went to see Simon Says... but this song is brilliant.
RIP Eddie
Ditto
Shelley Colston shut up Shelley
I remember watching the commercial for their debut album on TV and my initial thoughts were "what the hell is that? That sounds so good." I didn't have cable until I was in my early teens, so I barely knew about nu metal at the time.
If Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit and Incubus fused into one band.
glad someone else sees the incubus influence

I'm from Florida and used to catch their shows at the Culture Room. Such good days.
You were such a nice dude Eddie....
Man there was so many good nu-metal bands that never made it to the top. I’m glad I was part of that time
Jeez I forgot about them. Remember seeing them the state theater every other weekend. Good times. Sad that shits dead now.
Man DWR rocked. RIP Ed
i still get goosebumps from listening to this epic song!
There's no telling, really. I know I hate rap-metal, and I didnt really want to see these guys, but when I saw them in Atlanta I was really impressed with them. THey've got my respect for sure.
