    Ever since I noticed people giving you a hard time about the autumn result, I also started noticing that whenever you wear the "autumn" colours you love, like the darker greens, you actually always choose cool/grayish/muted versions of those colours (e.g. sage green), not warm/bright/yellowy versions (e.g. kelly green). The greens you love to wear aren't actually colour-theory-autumn greens at all, and are perfectly suited for your cool Summer colouring, which is why they look so beautiful on you overall and not just because they bring out the green in your eyes. I keep thinking of that blue and red striped sweater you got recently, and the blues and reds in it seemed noticeably cool in undertone to me, as well as more muted than intense, and so of course it looks wonderful on you. Your instincts on the colours that look fabulous on you are bang on, because at least as far as I can remember they're always cooler more muted shades of even colours that are traditionally considered "autumn colours". All that long-windedness to say, keep wearing the greens you love, because they look gorgeous on you and work perfectly with your summer colouring, and simply because you love them! :)

      Agreed! Since softness is a leading feature, and your skin is quite neutral, oscillating between soft autumn and soft summer tones will be fun! Soft Autumn and Soft Summer are next door neighbors on the color analysis wheel. I am a soft summer and also have an affinity for autumn tones when my hair is more blonde and my skin is more tan! I do understand the grief though bc the autumn tones are SO IN, especially at this time of year. But that soft sage you love is in the soft summer palette! I’m so excited to see you dive into this!!!

      I agree. I fail to see anything other than soft summer or maybe even soft autumn. On camera at least, Allana’s primary aspect looks to be her softness. I don’t know if I agree that she’s an obvious cool tone since she has said she has some warm tones in her eyes and her natural hair colour pulls a bit red. That makes me think that her hue (warm or cool) can’t be her primary aspect, making her unlikely to be true in any season. I’m definitely not an expert though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt lol Allana, wear whatever makes you feel good! ❤️

    I was expecting Soft Summer for you. I think soft/muted is the most important factor for you, and summer and autumn both include soft/muted tones (colours that have either grey, or the colour opposite them on the colour wheel, mixed in). Those greens you like are soft (as opposed to bright and vibrant), so they totally work. It's spectrum, and I think you're closer to the neutral side than the extremely cool end.
    Soft summer colours are also slightly deeper and more neutral than the True Summer ones, and I think that really works for you.
    So just remember, while you look great in cool tones, you can wear warm ones too, as long as they are soft/muted/smoky. So you can rock the Soft Autumn tones too.
    I think leaning into your best colours will help you get off the fake tan hamster wheel (at least for most of the year) and embrace your stunning natural beauty, as wearing those best colours will have the visual effect of evening out your skin, so you will feel less self conscious about any natural variation in skin tone.
    Yep, get a third opinion. Fly to Australia to the Colour Analysis Studio to get an in-person analysis. They are the best, so the long-haul flight will totally be worth it 😅 (I say that as an Australian who lives in the UK and has to do that 24 hour waking nightmare every few years).

    Wearing your eye color is generally a bit of a cheat code- it will always look nice and harmonious because its reflected in your colors naturally.
    I think the reason picante looks nice on you is partially because of the tan you apply, but really its because a full face of makeup can make many colors work for many people.
    The whole thing about your color palette is what colors are likely to make your skin look glowy and even toned without makeup. It's kind of an entirely different thing than what makeup does for people.

    You have very strong preferences and point of view. Which is great. But it can make things like this weirdly hard. I do think you’re a summer. However but color is also about emotion so if orange and green bring you joy - wear it! If you prefer the green in your eyes go for it. A few things to think about: 1. Colors not in your palette are going to make a bigger impact cause they aren’t native to your coloring. So if you’re feeling bold and want to wear extra makeup now you know what colors might be most effective. Also, most ppl, you included only have a handful of colors in their closet. So don’t worry about the palette as a whole cause you’re not going to be wearing 100 colors. 3. I would focus on finding your wow color within your palette if nothing else. The one where ppl are like wow did you get extra sleep last night kinda color. That way you now have the go to color for when you want to pop but also for when you’re not feeling so great and want your clothes to do the heavy lifting.

    I’m a soft autumn and you struck me even before your last analysis as a soft summer/autumn because of your low contrast.
    I’ve been working with my color season knowledge for about 2 years now and the biggest thing is you can totally find colors that make you look & feel amazing outside of your palette - just learn and rely on the principles behind color analysis! E.g. as a soft season (which I still kind of think you are) you can pull off both gold & silver jewelry, so I typically mix metals instead of leaning heavily into one or other. And knowing to avoid harsh bright contrasting colors always helps steer me in a better direction.
    Ultimately I’ve ended up looking at my palette + adjacent palettes, and picked a color scheme for my wardrobe that is personalized to what I think I look and feel the best in using that knowledge around color season principles & my analysis results! I’ve found I’m happier using this than going with an all soft autumn wardrobe (I love some good warm/cool tone but soft contrast!!). Looking forward to seeing how you use your analysis results :)

      I’m in my 30s, and can confirm-but the other way around, because I wasted a lot of time and money buying and replacing pieces I really liked but never reached for because they didn’t look quite right when they were actually on (unless I got really dolled up, and that was rare).
      Having a wardrobe of flattering cuts and colors makes life so much easier, and then I can indulge in the occasional fun trend piece in whatever color and style I want. My winter coat is expensive midnight blue wool, super flattering on me, and I’ve been wearing it for 5 years already because it just looks good. But I’ve had several faux leather jackets in army green, cherry red, cognac, and white-not all of them suited me, but I had fun trying them out.
      Experimenting is enjoyable, but when it’s all experimenting all the time it can get tiring and frustrating, so the earlier you can figure out what colors and silhouettes really suit you the more flexibility and fun you’ll have with fashion.

    Allana! Really fun to see a follow-up just because these color analysis video's are so engaging. If you're a cool toned girl (maybe leaning neutral), it is still possible to play with whatever you like. If you're cool toned then you can still pull options from the other cool toned palettes . The analysis determines the 'best' colors, these are not the only ones. For colors that aren't in your cool palette you can still wear them but they need more work. A 'bad' color can still be worn but just move it a bit away from the face: wear it in a handbag, shoes or a short skirt for example. 'Bad' colors near the face can look better when wearing a lil more make-up to balance out whatever it's not doing for you. For your gold preference: very yellow gold is maybe not the best, but a softer gold will be a better option. Colors can be a fun TOOL, it's not a strict rule - so don't be discouraged if it's not what you hoped it would be 🖤

You can absolutely use makeup and hair dye to create autumn features as well as increase or decrease your contrast levels, and thus you can make any color work. Summers borrow from the Autumn pallet all the time, just as Winters borrow from the Spring. As long as your makeup and your jewelry is in your color palette, wear anything you want!

    I think the best color analysis is True Color International (TCI). I just had my colors done here in Denver and was really happy with the results. If you look at their 12 palettes, the colors seem pretty spot on. I’m guessing a soft summer for you as well. They have beautiful grayed out soft greens that you’d probably love

    My biggest issue with so many color analyses are that they totally disregard the olive undertones. That’s what makes so many people feel like they can never get a good makeup color match! We often associate olive skin tone with Italians (me), Latinos or middle eastern backgrounds, and the medium to deep skin tones. BUT you can be pale or fair olive, and warm or cool olive, and it makes it trickier to figure out! Maybe, just maybe, you have some olive undertones? Just like the name suggests, greens of different hues will look gorgeous on olive undertones, you just have to find the right ones!

    Getting sick this time of year is tough but reminds us to slow down and take time to enjoy the simple joys, rest, make yummy soups and warm meals. I think I'd feel the same way about colour analysis, because NO MATTER the true results, we are going to LOVE what we love, and continue to wear our favourite outfits with JOY, regardless of the colour analysis results. Our fave items that bring us joy, don't need to fit into an ideal match in any way other than that we simply LOVE them. You're such a breath of fresh air. Stay wonderful. Hi MERYL. 😸 XOX

    I’m a true summer (Carol analyzed me too) with some warmth in my eyes too. You will see as you go along which true summer colors are your best ones. Start with the ones you like. You’re always free to wear colors outside your palette. I do this sometimes very consciously and with joy. But I know nothing beats my true summer version of navy. I get complements on COLORS when I’m outside my palette, but I get complements on ME when I’m in my best palette colors. It will be a fun ride. Enjoy. And wear those favorite greens when you want to

    Allana I enjoy seeing you discover your limits when it comes to work, travelling etc. I think you´re very mature in figuring out what works and more importantly doesn´t work for you. It took me way too many years to realize I just can´t do weekend trips, get back late on a Sunday then work a full week. By Thursday I crash and burn. Other people manage no problem, but it doesn´t work for me. The secret is to stop comparing yourself to others. Caring less about what others think or do is a wonderful part of aging. Listen to your body and put your health first, the rest will follow.

    NEVER CLICKED SO FAST. Gorgeous gorgeous palette on you. I know some people say you’re soft, but they might not know that Carol Braley uses a 16 seasons system, not 12, and so her True Summer is not the same as in the 12 seasons system, and is very soft as we can see on your swatches. For what it's worth, I think you got the best possible result this time! Regarding your eyes, it’s just a matter of of what complements your eye color, it doesn’t necessarily have to match your season. I have dark blue eyes, they look fab with copper makeup but I’m a Summer as well and that looks awful against my other features.

  • @katie-walker
    @katie-walker Месяц назад +1

    I honestly think color analysis is more helpful in finding out which colors to avoid. Undertone isn't the only defining thing to consider, contrast is important too. So because you're lower contrast, you should probably avoid saturated colors and high contrast outfits. And because your undertone is neutral (and leans more toward warm when you tan) you are flexible between seasons. Basically you're a soft summer / soft autumn cusp.
    (also just wear what makes you feel good!)

  • @hannahlindow8374
    @hannahlindow8374 Месяц назад +1

    I saw a perspective on color analysis that I found really helpful: that colors within or outside of a particular palette are not necessarily “good” or “bad” on us but rather will give a particular effect. Maybe certain greens or blacks aren’t on your specific palette - but that may just mean that they give a more earthy or moody vibe, for instance. I think color analysis should be a tool to experiment with color rather than a restriction!

  • @fbmbassist

    Yes, try Colour Analysis Studio in Australia (they do online sessions). I think they'd still type you as a Summer because you're not self-tanned and your hair doesn't have the golden highlights anymore. You'd have to decide if you want to go to them with your golden goddess look or your natural cool-toned look (or maybe do both).
