I think I wrote last year about the quality and the increasing improvement in every Video, Well I have been proved right, yours are as profesional as any high funded ones. I really like your down to earth persona. Well done
Hi oggybwfc1 ah thanks very much for the kind comments, glad you enjoy the videos :-) We do try and make them better and more professional every time we produce one, a lot of the time it's simply having the time to get out and do it though, then it's a case of me having time in the evening to edit it etc We'll have lots more to come though! :-) Thanks once again, tight lines Chris.
Brilliant video, would love to see another specimen style fishing video sometime in the future. I recently really got into specimen fishing as i like all the prep and waiting for the fish in the nice warm bivvy rather than sitting on the seatbox all the while.. Thanks again and keep them coming lads!!
Thanks Jason Jones glad you enjoyed the video! :-) We have lots of different stuff planned, it's just getting time to do it all! Don't worry though, we'll try! ;-) Tight lines, Cheers Chris.
Cheers, and no rush am sure you both got some great plans for the upcoming winter as you always do. Just thought to let you know that i enjoyed the video and would love to see another specimen type fishing in the upcoming future. Tight lines :)
Used this method yesterday, for the first time had a cracking day.common mirror crucians tench bream.your vid definately helped and saved time.thanks from a new sub ;]
Hi ivor nappinion thanks very much for the kind comments! Glad you enjoyed the video and found some of the tips useful :-) Nice to hear you are a new subscriber too! Hope your fishing is going well, be lucky and of course... tight lines!
I don"t think the carp at 9 minutes liked his new nickname Steve. Thanks for all the great videos, great to hear how and why you make the decisions you do. Good to build my knowledge and understanding, much appreciated!
Haha! :-) No worries at all Ben, thanks for the kind comments, glad you're enjoying the videos. Hope your fishing is going well, tight lines, cheers Chris.
Thanks david scoynes glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment! Yeah, get out there and give it a go, it's a great method at this time of year! Let us know how you get on. Tight lines, Cheers Chris.
One of the reasons your last fish fought harder was because it was a mirror, and they are renowned for fighting harder than commons. Looked like it had a stumpy tail though. Good video, very informative and I will be trying the pellet feeder very soon. Tight Lines.
They're all carp obviously but there are different variations such as mirrors, commons, ghosties grass carp etc. I just seem to find that mirrors seem to put up a better/harder fight than commons, and grass carp fight even harder. Tight lines..
Hinderclay lakes I fish there a lot. Looks like peg 4 there, the reason the fight hard at the bank is because like you said the bank does go under your swim, had a few decent fish from new lake biggest I've had is 15, are you local to hinderclay we could have a match 😉 quality video mate
Great stuff Ryan Moyes I think Steve has fished there before, but it was my first time on the complex, I was very impressed, a lovely set of lakes. Interesting that you say the bank is undercut, that would definitely explain why the fish fought so hard under the rod tip!!!! :-) Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment! Tight lines, cheers Chris.
Hi Chris, great video as usual. is the pellet feeder effective in open water as well as up to features? have couple of waters where I might try it where the features are underwater rather than islands. Is it effective on mixed fisheries as they arent out and out carp venues? Cheers :-)
Hi Mark Schofield thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video! :-) Yeah the pellet feeder will work in open water or against features, it's quite good on the latter, as because you tuck your hook length in, there's no dangling bits to get hooked on the bushes!! etc :-) Also it'll work on mixed fisheries, altho it's particularly good for Carp and there often aggressive nature! Hope this helps a little, Cheers Chris.
Thanks Sam James glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment! Yeah get out there and give it a go, it is a nice method to fish, especially at this time of year. If you do be sure to let us know how you get on :-) Tight lines, cheers Chris.
Hello, my name is Blake! I was wondering, how do you colour your pellets in your big pellet box? Do u buy them coloured or do you colour them your self? And if so what pellets do you use? What size? And what make colouring do you use if you colour them yourself? Great videos! Tight Lines And Wet Nets!
Hi xPort Clan glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment. We buy a mixture of pellets already pre-coloured, they are Sonu Baits Band'ums, they are around 6-8mm in size and are available in different colours. If you click the tackle box link in the video description you should be able to see some there if you do a search. :-) Tight lines, cheers Chris.
Hello guys, great video and awesome fishing! I was only wondering when i am fishing a five or six hour match with one kilo micro pellets for the method feeder and the pellet feeder which i am using the full match. Can i have pellets left or am i struggling and need to prepare some more before the match ( i like to feed much )? Greats
Hi Say Coyza thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoy the videos and our channel! Ummmm to be honest, 1kg should be more than enough really, however I guess it depends on how much your casting and how many fish you are catching! Also what size method feeder you use etc There's no right or wrong answer to be honest! If you are worried about wasting bait, perhaps prepare 0.5kg to start with or something :-) Hope that helps, good luck with your fishing and tight lines.
Hi there, nice video! I've a couple of questions for you. 1. What is the name of the rod and price? 2. If you hook a big carp and it runs, why doesn't break the line on the clip? 3. Where can you get those pellets? I live in Holland and I can't get them! Thanks for the information in the video!
Hi Familie van Driel the rod is a Daiwa Team Daiwa Feeder rod, if you look at the link in the video description there's a tackle box link with all the items used in it. You can also purchase them to ship to Holland too. If you hooked a really big fish when 'clipped up' the line may snap, however 99% of the time you can normally get a good few turns on the reel to protect your clip, then play the fish normally. You can see the pellets in the tackle list too, they are called Sonu Band'ums and come in a variety of different colours etc Hope this helps and thanks for taking the time to comment, glad you enjoyed the video! :-)
I noticed that when the feeder was about to hit the water, you pulled the rod up to about 90 degrees-I'm guessing it's something to do with being clipped up,could you explain please?
Yes David, it allows you to then have a bit of free line so you can sink it. If you hit the clip on a really tight line you struggle to sink it. Also when fishing clipped up it's nice to have at least one turn on the reel.
Another great video Steve mate. Can I ask what this 9ft rod is that you're using? I fish a small carp lake over the summer time and I'd like to try a smaller rod on it, rather than my 11ft rods.
Hi Steve Beirlaen thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video! :-) No we didn't use any ground bait, we just introduced Pellet through the feeder. We just soaked the pellets for a few minutes before use, no other additives were used either. Hope this helps. :-)
Another great video! Do you still use the pellet feeder in the weather we have now? (Winter temps, 5-8 degrees) or would you prefer to choose straight lead?
Thanks MrTim207 glad you enjoyed it! Ummm to be honest the Pellet feeder would work all year round, the only thing I would change is the size, so a smaller feeder (=less feed) in the winter months and then a larger one (=more feed) in the summer months. Something like that anyway! It always depends where I'm fishing, but I certainly would hesitate in using it. Tight lines, cheers.
How long do you soak your 4 mm pellets for, I'm assuming four minutes? Do you leave them covered completely in water for four minutes and then drain the water off completely, or turn the box upside down let it drain off a little bit more slowly?
Hi Penn, yeah thats the general rule of thumnb. 4mins for 4mm, 6mins for 6mm etc etc We normally just drain the water straight off. Leave the lid on your bait box and let the water drip through the holes. Give it a good shake too.
Hi Steve, Just wondering what type of pellets can stuff into a pellet feeder? Was looking for brands and sizes etc. I've tried robin red micros on the method but they go too sticky when soaked for even 2 minutes, would 4mm expanders (skrettings etc) be best on the pellet feeder? Or would they need a stick mix liquid to hold them together? Sorry for the questions i'm still a novice :)
Hi mate, pretty much any pellets (apart from expanders) can go into a feeder, you just need to soak them. You sorta want them to go sticky so they stay in?
I'm new to clipping up. Do you keep your line clipped up all the time ? If so how do you unclip if the fish makes a big run right after you set the hook ?
Hi Cameron, if you clip up you have to be careful as there's not alot you can do if you hook a big'un. The only thing you can do is try and unclip as quickly as you can. For species like Bream and smaller carp it's ok, but if you're fishing for really big fish then it's probably best not too.
I'd say if you're fishing for up to double figure Carp you could clip up but use strong line so you can pull back hard and stop the fish from bolting, at least 8lb breaking strain with a hook length close to that. I used 8lb mainline and a 6.4lb fluorocarbon hook length the other week though i didnt catch anything that big but thats my theory.
Hi Wojciech Lemańczyk thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video. The rod is a Daiwa Team Daiwa Quivertip rod, if you look in the video description you will see a link to our Tackle box. Hope that helps :-) Tight lines, cheers Chris.
I modify my pellet feeders in the same way, I find that without cutting the top off 'so to speak', a lot of the pellets just get stuck in the feeder....
Hi mate, if you click the tackle box link in the video description you should see the details. I think Steve was using around 6-8lb mono. Cheers Chris.
Hi Fishing MadDAd we use the Preston ones, there's a link to the tackle used in the video description if that helps :-) The Gardner ones (supplied in a little tube) are also very good. Hope this helps. Cheers Chris
Nice video like always, I'm from california n I just start fishing for carp, where can I get my stuff for carp? Of course it has to be online :-) ??? Hope u can give me a page where I can order some stuff, n keep making videos love them thanks
Thanks FISHERMAN PRO glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment. :-) I'm not sure reference tackle. Perhaps google it? We have lots of good UK tackle shops, but not many send to the USA I don't think.
Hi. As usual a great video. We have just opened a tackle shop in the West Midlands and are in the process of building our web site. Would you have any objections to us sharing your videos on our site, uncut and as-is. We would also include a link to your anglingdirect.co.uk site. Cheers.
Hi Luke, it's just a normal pole but a term given to a style of fishing. Rather than holding your pole above the water you slightly rest it on the water and fish like that.
Great video once again Steve! I have a question, in my local fishery called Rosemary Wood, it is heavily pressured due to 30 pound plus carp that are held in there, would this method still work??
Hi TJ Dean thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video! :-) Ummm yeah this method would pretty much work anywhere, for almost any species I guess, well certainly Carp, Tench and Bream etc You'll probably get the most out of it on a commercial match fishery stocked with Carp though. Hope this helps. Cheers Chris
Haha, indeed Matthew Vincent Steve has retired the old one! However it occasionally still makes an appearance if we are really struggling and need some luck!!! Haha. Tight lines, cheers Chris.
Hi nuffin but match and coarse fishing we try and stay one step ahead, especially in a match fishing situation! Constantly thinking, working and trying things will normally yield more fish! :-)

I'm a great fan of the pellet feeder. Thanks for showing your way of adapting them for 4mm pellet.....Great Vids....
No worries at all Ian, glad you're enjoying the video's! :-) Hope your fishing is going well, cheers Chris.

Perfect
Another great video fella- I only live 6 miles from Hinderclay and I'm hoping to go there soon.
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment. It's a nice complex, well worth a visit! :-)
The way you modify the feeder is basically making a hybrid. Pellets hold better with higher side great tip.
No worries at all Greg, thanks for watching. 😊
Great video steve will be trying the boat feeder this weekend
Thanks david scoynes glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment! Yeah, get out there and give it a go, it's a great method at this time of year! Let us know how you get on. Tight lines, Cheers Chris.
Great video. It was really helpful the way you told through your changes. Keep up the good work
Thanks Gary, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment.

They are the exact same species as common carp it’s a genetic mutation of colour, it doesn’t affect strength or size
They're all carp obviously but there are different variations such as mirrors, commons, ghosties grass carp etc.
I just seem to find that mirrors seem to put up a better/harder fight than commons, and grass carp fight even harder.
Tight lines..
never normally use a pellet feeder but thanks for explaining the reasons why they can work better than the method
No worries mate, it's well worth a try!
Great clip and info , trying to get my head around pellet fishing, this helped a lot. Thank you.
Thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video and that it helped. :-)

awesome vid again,so u haven't put in any groundbait at all? And have u done anything with the pellets to get em more sticky or not?
Hi Steve Beirlaen thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video! :-) No we didn't use any ground bait, we just introduced Pellet through the feeder. We just soaked the pellets for a few minutes before use, no other additives were used either. Hope this helps. :-)
Great video, i don't suppose you can tell me what the song is at 10:22?

when turning up to the swim would you spray a few pellets over the area you are going to fish?
Hi Ryan101 you certainly could do, I don't think it would do any harm. I'd more tempted to do this when the weather is warmer though. Hope this helps!
thank youu

Yeah thats it mate.
Hey
Which mainline and hooklength are you using when fishing on carp on the pellet feeder (brand and diameter)?
Cheers
Hi mate, if you click the tackle box link in the video description you should see the details. I think Steve was using around 6-8lb mono. Cheers Chris.
Thanks!
Which bait bands fo you use mate my korum ones keep breaking
Hi Fishing MadDAd we use the Preston ones, there's a link to the tackle used in the video description if that helps :-) The Gardner ones (supplied in a little tube) are also very good. Hope this helps. Cheers Chris

Try Big Carp Tackle, they are in Oklahoma. Or Carp Kit they are in Canada.
Very good
Cheers Alan.
How have you attached the bait band to the hair?
We've tied it on with a knotless knot. So tie up a hair rig and rather than using a loop you use a bait band. Hope that helps. :-)
From The Waters Edge TV cheers for the help
No worries at all Toby.
Can you do more feeder videos
Am sure we can sort something out Samuel.
Hi. As usual a great video. We have just opened a tackle shop in the West Midlands and are in the process of building our web site. Would you have any objections to us sharing your videos on our site, uncut and as-is. We would also include a link to your anglingdirect.co.uk site. Cheers.

Steve, a new hat?!?!?!?!? :)
Haha, indeed Matthew Vincent Steve has retired the old one! However it occasionally still makes an appearance if we are really struggling and need some luck!!! Haha. Tight lines, cheers Chris.
One thing. Do you always think a step ahead like how am I going to catch that extra fish on hour or you keep it simple.
Hi nuffin but match and coarse fishing we try and stay one step ahead, especially in a match fishing situation! Constantly thinking, working and trying things will normally yield more fish! :-)
yeah, anyway great vid and I certainly do think a step ahead to win matches.
By cutting the lid off the feeder you have broken many fishery rules as if the method feeder is banned so is what you have done you yours as you have allowed fish to suck up your hook bait from any angle and that’s why there is a lid on the pellet feeder to stop that from happening
looks more like a banjo pellet feeder then a method
Peter Seager. I don't get your point. Steve leaves his hook length hanging from the end of his feeder as he clearly demonstrated. So what does it matter which angle the fish eat the pellets in the feeder from? They're just basically loose feed/free offerings. Also, do you know this fishery, are you acquainted with the rules? If not then you don't know that Steve has broken any rules...and I very much doubt that he has done so.
Tight Lines! :)
Speak to a company get them building pellet feeder with detachable lid ...
Leave it with us! Haha. 😆
No offense but surely thats just a banjo with abit cut out to let the hooklink come out the side....
Hi kev brookes no offence taken :-) It is very similar to be honest. We had a few questions about it etc So thought it was worth filming it in action, as it's another popular method to use at this time of year.
Ok good i like the concept dont get me wrong! Take it to mr. Findlay and he can tell preston!! Haha
Thanks kev brookes Haha, now there's an idea!!! ;-)
Why am I watching someone fish for carp smh
Haha, I don't know +jestes7 I can't really answer that!
+From The Waters Edge TV new to canal fishing and just wondering if pellet feeder and banjo feeders would work as well on canals? thanks
boo worst than peppa pig
Haha!??? What?
