Thank you for your excellent videos. They have helped me a great deal with HA. Will you be updating this video to demonstrate how to turn the Muse Luxe into a voice assistant with wake word?
I am fortunate to have this wonderful speaker. I just tried esp32 as demonstrated in your video, but I could not get bluetooth to work, I have gone back to squeezelite version. What I like it is local and will play music, TTS and notification without issue, even if the Internet is down. Thanks for the video.
Hi, I am using generic esp32 and i2s audio, works well but most of the time the audio crackles and chops I am not sure how to make it reliable, tried multiple esp32s/ wifi and switches. any pointer to make it reliable would be awesome, cheers and thanks in advance..
Could this be used as a solution for almond/genie where you have this in the living room and HA is on a central server located elsewhere? I.e voice input and output be transferred with this device?
@@tstill1988 I think that ESPHome running on HA can pick up voice commands on an ESP32 with microphone, and then Rhasspy can help process them? Can anyone confirm
@@zingrock Oh, interesting. I gave up on Rhaspby tbh but I've just bought some RaspiAudio devices so I will take another go at this, think I've got some eps32 spare but will need to grab a mic for it
I love the fact this is local. However, isn't the tts engine web based, which sort of defeats the whole exercise? Sorry if I've misunderstood this -just confused.
I saw this Lux in the Raspiaudio part of the HA live session. I did some research and like many others can’t get them yet. Some Chinese companies are faster than others to see HA ask something to design for. I think Raspiaudio is essentially taking a low end Bluetooth speaker and using ESP chip by retrofit or change in production. I do use Echo devices for my announcements but I didn’t even bother when Music Assistant came out to use them for music on HA. Announcements work ok for me as I will use Nabu Casa just to fund HA and I support some of the developers as well. I would like to eliminate the cloud too and Amazon altogether. Worse I pay for ddns service for my NVR and I can’t get it to work on HA. I am still new to HA and it isn’t a priority yet, too much other stuff to do. So I don’t see this as a solution for an audiophile but I will probably buy a few once they come down in price and become available, just for announcements and maybe as part of a media player group within MA I bought and used the Arylic Upstream Amp board, a 20v power supply, around $130 and I had 2 KLH speakers in basement so I now have my own (less portable) WiFi/Bluetooth/Line In/DAC media player. It delivers 25 watts per channel so with a decent set of speakers it is a nice compromise to Sonos. I will probably buy another of these soon. Soon as I can afford the speakers to connect to it! I would like to have a Sonos budget but my addiction to Smart home just won’t allow it at this time. Nicely done Kiril!
@@KPeyanski ok I have a tuya based contact sensor. I have the local key, id and the ip address for it, I am not able to add it to local tuya in homeassistant. Please guide how can I add it via .yaml configuration to local tuya. Kindly guide.
You can also use a Chromecast, HDMI splitter and an old speaker to do the same. If you had to buy the speaker the cost would be the same as this speaker. All in one package with this speaker though. Although, a creative person could put the splitter and Chromecast inside a speaker easily.
Great video... thanks a lot. Please make a video on how to connect and use two Bluetooth speakers at the same time with raspberry pi lite (bullseye)...
Got the muse speaker, and I got TTS to work. Now I just need to figure out how to combine google calendar and TTS, so I can have my muse read out what today's events are.
If I use it as my PC speaker through cable and HA through USB. What audio stream does it play. So I can play my Music or Zoom meeting from PC and have HA TTS. This removes some speakers from my desk

Great to hear! I also enjoy this speaker a lot and I will have to convert/add a lot of automations to utilize it even better.
Will this work ok with Rhasspy for voice commands?
Quick question , if you are using Google TTS then there is a cloud or external service being used right? Would this work if the internet went down?
I didn't test this yet, but I say that tts service in Home Assistant is rated as internal/local which means it should work.
@@KPeyanski you're wrong. It sends all your announcements as clear texts to Google Translate and Google sends back audio it plays

Hi kiril, thank you for the nice video, do you think we can use it the muse lux with the new wake word feature ?
Yes you can!

This is a good question, but I'm not sure what the answer is.
I don't think voice input is supported yet. Yes I agree it would be great if almond could be used.
Check out Rhasspy in HA addons. there is a esp32 firmware that will connect, may need some tinkering though.

TTS is local and media can also play locally.

Don't know that by heart. Check the HA documentation.

Great 👍 The only thing that I didn’t like about the Sonos is their price. But I guess most good things are either free or expensive

Is it possible to change it as two way talking device (in door bell )
I don't know. Probably if you are an Arduino master and you know how to program it it will be possible.
Is there a solution to use rhasspy with it and HA at the Same time?
I think yes, but not 100% sure
I can't get Text to Speech to work. Maybe I'm missing something in my configuration.yaml? I have this:

- platform: google_translate
How much is it approximately? (80 euro? 800 euro??) I get that it’s out of stock, but no prices listed anywhere.
Around 49 €.
I bought mine for around 55 GBP (66 EUR) in the beginning of May this year from amazon in UK.

Yes, check the other products of raspiaudio.
