Thank you for the way you teach how to wire a gfci switch combo. I tried to install one 2 days ago; the light stayed on. After watching your video, I installed it correctly, and it works fine. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🎉
Thank you so much for this update! I watched your previous video about a dozen times and I was so lost. After watching this I had a working outlet in 10 minutes!
Dude thank you sooo much for making this video. You made it so easy to follow and explained every step so I couldn't screw it up. I have the exact gfci combo switch and I've installed one before but that had FOUR different wires coming into one box. I have a 64 year old house that was poorly built and I have no idea why they wired it that way but it took me like 6 hours to finally get it installed correctly with a gfci outlet with a 2 switches. One for the ceiling light and one for the vent fan. So thanks for making this installation easy enough that a caveman could do it 😊
Cheers! Thanks for redoing this video, I like some others thought the same. My light and fan were both connected. A GFCI was in the bathroom. First the fan caught on fire 🔥 fell out and into the toilet. The plastic was so hot it exploded the toilet. After cleaning up the mess and removing the burnt fan, it turned on the flipped 15amp back on. The lights turned on, I then washed my dirty hands and went to turn off the light but…shock…yep I got shocked. The GFCI that was there did not trip. I planned to investigate, but I assume nothing was protected. But yes, thanks for the video redo.
I followed the instructions for wiring this type of switch that were presented around the sixth minute in the video and the gfci turned green but wouldn't allow me to push the test button and didn't have any power. I re-wired it using the second type of wiring demonstrated that gfci protects the light fixture and the green light came on and the test and reset buttons both worked and there was power. Are there some combo switches such as the Leviton brand that I bought that only allow the second type of wiring hookup demonstrated?
Hello, I have an older home and I want to install a GFCI switch and outlet combo where I have a switch in the bathroom. The problem is, there are only 2 wires PERIOD, no other wires are in that box at all! no capped white or black wires either and no ground, and the white wire is the hot one😬, I tested the 2 wires, I got 120+ reading on my meter so I guess I have a neutral, is the wiring reversed?? I'm confused, please help! It also has those 2 wires coming out of the GFI just like the one on your video. I bought this thing from Amazon and I want to find out if I can wire this thing and if I can't, I'm returning it before the 30 day window is up, thank you.
Just wondering why Eaton uses strained wire vs solid copper, and other manufacturers like Leviton and etc what they use. Thank you for this demonstration and mentioning other options to use on this type of switch.
Just watched your video and found it very helpful. Watched your video to change my old switch in the bathroom and have it change to a GFCI combo. The only Problem I came across is that I can't turn the light on and plug something at the same time. I can only use one at a time ( the switch light Or the receptacle), both work, but as I said, not at the same time. Can you let me know what I did wrong? Thanks
Thank you so much for your videos! Liked and subscribed! Question please: What if I am trying to wire up the gfci switch combo but I also have another switch that also turns on this light? Can this still be done?
I'm unsure of the name maybe a 2 way? It's a bathroom light with 2 different switch locations. I wanted to install one of these in one of those locations. I have white, black and red wires plus copper ground at the switch.
what if you have two light switch 1. Fan/vent (with no light) 2. Light in bathroom and the light switch is a single pole (2 brass screws) so that would be 3 Romex wires coming from the box 1. vent 2. power supply 3. light fixture.
Thank you for the way you teach how to wire a gfci switch combo.

I don't think so
Thanks for your easy to understand explanation
I love Wagos when I use stranded wires, but they’re odd with copper wires

Sounds to me like you Only have a hot and a switch leg down at the box. Your neutral stayed in the light box. I'd say no without being there
@@MountaineerOutdoors thank you.

My pleasure and not sure why it is so different between the brands
All your videos are awesome!
I appreciate that!
Can you use the switch to turn a 5000 btu window AC unit on and off in a shed using 10-gauge wire 200 ft away?
Only if it has a knob. If it's electronic probably not
You save my time buddy. Thank you awesome video ❤❤❤❤

Thanks for the informative video. I did not get a link for the screwdriver. What brand is it? I like toys!😊
amzn.to/40zafkS my pleasure let me know if you like it
Does it have to take 18 minutes for 1 outlet
20 minutes actually unless you are speedy quick 😂 😂

Welcome to the diy family, and are you meaning a 3 way?
