    Seeing Jurassic Park on opening night is probably the best movie experience of my life.
    I was about to turn 16, and going through a rough time emotionally at the time with my parents recently divorcing, having to move, and things going bad at high school. But, all my problems melted away when I saw this with an energetic crowd. It started with the teaser trailer for the live action Flintstones movie, which was a sing a long with the show's theme song, followed by our first look at John Goodman as Fred afterward. The audience's singing to the lyrics helped create a party atmosphere that would follow through to when the film started.
    It was such an awe-inspiring film for someone going through a bad time, and showed me sights I had never seen. I just remember the exhilaration and excitement I felt during the tensest scenes. I also remember how my older brother (who was 21 at the time) had to leave during the scene when the kids were trapped in the kitchen with the raptors. He said he needed to use the bathroom, but afterward, he said he was scared and could not watch the scene.
    I went to see the film four times at the theater that summer. It was that movie, and Link's Awakening for Game Boy (which also came out in Summer 93) that helped me get through that summer period.

    I saw "Jurassic Park" on my mother's birthday, the same day it was released (she was 29 at the time) when I was 8 and it was a fun and intense colossal ride! The visual effects on the dinosaurs just felt very real! Blending with CGI and Practical with Mechanical technology! Plus, the cast was excellent including Sam Neil, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sir Richard Attenborough. Beautifully directed by Steven Spielberg that's based on a Michael Crichton's best selling Novel! Also saw "Last Action Hero" on my brother's birthday and I enjoy it as an fun Action/Comedy that sadly not many people had anticipated! And it's a shame too after all the troubles it went through for a Schwarzenegger action flick! Can't believe both films are celebrating its 30th Anniversary!

    I found it really interesting how little of the dinosaurs they showed in the 'Jurassic Park' promo. If other ads were also like that I guess they wanted to surprise audiences with the effects.

      I think that the only real scenes shown in full to promote the movie on TV were the initial Brachiosaurus reveal, the Gallimimus stampede and a few other short scenes with the T-Rex such as the jeep chase. I think the Velociraptors were pretty much left out of the advertising and kept as a surprise for the audience.

      @Tr0nzoid Год назад +5

      Yes, they definitely hid the dinosaurs in the commercials and trailers. My first look at the full brachiosaur was in an issue of Newsweek before the movie opened.
      Only after it opened were the gallimimuses shown. I was surprised to see as much of the tyrannosaur during the Jeep chase in this TV spot. I don't remember it from the trailer.

      Jurassic Park truly was the big ticket for 93 it's crazy that next week is going to be I believe the 30th anniversary of Last Action Hero which also came out in this month as well and it was the movie that Jurassic Park beat at the box office in the summer of 93 it's showing it's dominance at the box office honestly if it wasn't for Jurassic Park we definitely wouldn't have seen dinosaurs become as popular as they did when the movie came out this movie is also the reason why we got Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  Год назад +4

      Mighty Morphin Power Rangers used footage from the Japanese TV series Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ky%C5%8Dry%C5%AB_Sentai_Zyuranger
      It came out in 1992. The popularity of Jurassic Park had nothing to do with the Dinosaur motif chosen for the series, or the subsequent Power Rangers TV show in America, which was already well into production and only a few months away from debuting when Jurassic Park premiered.

    While not the last game Nintendo released on the NES, Kirby's Adventure was probably the last triple-A game they published for it. It stands as one of the more technically advanced games, as developer HAL Laboratories was really pushing the Nintendo to its limit. I own the game CIB (Complete in Box), and it's really amazing how much they were able to squeeze out of the aging console with that game.

    Nick Profile- The girl who’s being interviewed in this commercial looks half asleep, as if she was dragged out of bed just to do this short interview.
    Combos- It’s interesting to see the abundance of commercials for this snack food in this volume of 90’s commercials. It’s impressive to see that they created individual commercials dedicated to each of the many varieties of this snack food, too.
    Promo for “The MTV Movie Awards “- The announcer in this commercial sounds like Tony Jay.

    Kirby on NES is the best of the series. And now playing it again today, fighting Meta Knight and King Dedede on an 8 Bit console feels like a primitive version of Smash Bros.
    Between Meta Knight's sword skills and Dedede's stomp. I can see so much of Smash in it, even though both games were made by Masahiro Sakurai(or "Daddy Sakurai" for fans of the late Etika).
    I still get a joy in playing the final platformer stage in Fountain of Dreams where the entire layout is like that of a Gameboy but on NES and grayscaled instead of 4 shades of green. Making me think I should have jumped on getting that Retrovision cart where playing Gameboy on NES back when they had it and play my copy of Kirby's Dreamland on my NES instead of a Super GameBoy or GameBoy Player.

    Last Action Hero-still remember Burger King's ad promotions for this..also heard some people were leaving showings of it early to sneak into Jurassic Park
    Jurassic Park-the "World" trilogy is when the franchise started to run out of steam IMO

    Man the timing for Last Action Hero was not a good one for it because it had to compete up against Jurassic Park and there was no way that it was going to be able to compete with it that was one of the things that hurt the movie and also the promotional backing that the movie had

      "Schwarzenegger states that he tried to persuade his coproducers to postpone the film's June 18 release in the United States by four weeks, but they turned a deaf ear on the grounds that the film would have lost millions of dollars in revenue for every weekend of the summer it ended up missing, also fearing that delaying the release would create negative publicity."

      No. The Super size promotion began in 1987: ruclips.net/video/WaOdnWFH_GU/видео.html
      I'm not sure how this whole "Jurassic Park created Super Size" thing got started.
