THE BEST FOUNDATION EVER! Mixed w oil is perfection & I love mixing it w sunscreen lotion for a customized tinted moisturizer. Danessa myricks is a wonder woman!
Been eyeballing DM for a while now. Seems like most reviews talk about how concentrated it is & ya have to learn to work w/ it, aka, add oils? W/ all your skin care, I can't imagine any one being more moisturized than you. Fun review, I wanted to see this. Thanks
You are a modern day Briar Rose 🌹 Your skin always looks simply gorgeous even in the zoom in and even when you say it's not looking the best - like now. I even took off my glasses and really looked and couldn't see a thing wrong 😊
I loved your wildlife that you shared with us!! Your place looks like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ place!! Magical ♥️ I think that foundation looked good on you, a little dark indeed but pretty finish! I’m right with you about the dewy finish plumping up wrinkles! Does the same to me!! Drying foundation are definitely accentuating my lines! Your skin is beautiful though, you barely have any lines!! Here I am at newly 44 and I have more than you... Thank you for another great review! Are you planning on reviewing the new KVD foundation when it’s back in stock 🙄? So many people are raving about it... but I’d love to have your opinion on it before I buy it (no rush though since it’s still sold out 🤣)
I tried this foundation and was cakey on my skin even though I didn’t put too much and didn’t powder it, so didn’t like it except for the coverage. You have nice friends 🦌🕊🐇🐈🐿🐾 and what a beautiful forest ❤️
I have this foundation and love it. I used it with the Hourglass primer and a brush and it blurred my pores. You should try it with another moisturizing primer. I also like the smaller size. Love your finished look. Have a great week, Clara
Hi Shelly, I just discovered your channel a few days ago. I don't know what sort of background you have and I appreciate you giving your honest opinion on the way you applied it and you seem genuine and just an overall lovely person 😊 Danessa's products are made by a makeup artist for makeup artists, not that other people can't use them but just wanted to say there are lots of ways and tricks to using her products. I went to a private event, like a sort of masterclass of hers here in London and she explained in depth how little foundation you should use and how you can use it in combination with oil or moisturisers. It looks bomb the way she uses it, I mean she is the one who created it so she will definitely know how to work with it. But the amount you applied is for several applications, definitely not in one application. Hope this can give you an idea and can get you to give it another try. I would say go to her insta and search for the way she applies it and all the tips and tricks, also if you think of trying her facial oil, I had the chance of feeling it on my hand, it is very different from your normal facial oil you've tried until now, ut doesn't leave a greasy residue. I really hope you see this comment, I wish you best of luck and lots of subscribers and success on youtube and hope you'll give this foundation another try with different application techniques 😊 Have a lovely day
That really didn't look bad on you. The Danessa Myricks product that I really want to try is the Colorfix. She has so many colors in it and there's some gorgeous purples. (I'm a sucker for purple eyeshadow) I don't know if you saw my reply to your best wishes for me yesterday or Wednesday but I had to put Aphrodite to sleep yesterday. She had FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) that she's had since I adopted her in January but it didn't start giving her problems until recently and she was too sick to do anything else. I didn't know the signs but apparently there's not much treatment for it. So she's no longer with us but I was there holding here and telling her I loved her the whole way until she was gone. I hope your kitty's are all healthy and happy and Momma is too! Take care and big hugs, k
Also, the Hailey's Beauty BB Drops and the dewy foundation stick are beautiful. I got the BB Drops for Christmas and just got the sticks recently and they are great on mature and dry skin or atleast mine.
I happen to love the color on your skin. But the foundation does look a bit heavy. I agree with you about a dewy foundation. I find they make my skin look better. I love the deer❣🤗
I did the same thing with these products. They are amazing. I'm 41 with dry skin and it works for me well when I want to do a full coverage glam look. Great video as usual.
New make-up line to me- thanks! Oh yikes a little steep in price. I couldn't find anything leaning cool...looks like you could've used a touch if cool too? Enjoyed the review any way!
Aww love the deer and nature shots! So jealous! I absolutely LOVE DM's dew wet balms and colorfix and balm products, however imo her foundation and face shades are very olive (not good for cool tones) and aren't an amazing formula for foundations from what I've heard but love the dew wet balms and are affordable for a high end mua brand. Man my skin is oily after 20 minutes, couldn't imagine getting dryer throughout the day. Goes to show how different skin is 😁 once again WnW tinted hydrator wins to me! Haha I always joke Shell but it just kills me a $5 products smokes high end again and again. TY for reviewing!
Since it takes literally one drop with an oil mix, a sample can last forever. This is literally my fave foundation when I mix with oil. Makes my 55 year old skin look flawless. You used way way too much...much better diluted with oil or lotion.
I’m going to order it & dilute it in my Rosehip Seed Oil from The Ordinary. I did enough research to know a little goes a LONG WAY. It reminds me when Tarte Shape Tape concealer came out & ERRRYBODY (not me) was using WAAAY TOO MUCH.
I was so close to purchasing this earlier this week! Thank you for doing the review! I don’t think I would like this either after seeing how it worked for you.
How are you beautiful Shelly!! I was so bored this afternoon and guess what Shelly I start playing with makeup use my Purito, I love it 😀. Hope to see your next video tonight!! I'm ready ❤😘😘
I'm so glad you reviewed this. My feeling from reviews is that this foundation is more trouble than it's worth. There aren't good matches for pale, neutral skintones. And you really need to mix with a skin oil (which Danessa alway does and even sells her own Beauty oil to be used with it) to sheer it out. Could you please review the KVD Apple balm foundation (if it ever comes back in stock) and the new Chantecaille cushion foundation?
From this side it looks quite smooth. However I do know what you're talking about when a foundation feels/looks makeup-y. You've got me thinking about the new CoverGirl Outlast 3 in 1 foundation...so now I'm going out this weekend to pick up a bottle. Lol! I watched several video reviews of it this afternoon to hone in on the right shade.
This is actually its final fade right before I need to color it again! It usually looks pretty cool where some areas hold onto the blue-purple and others fade magenta :-D
I do think it looked pretty good, but I've seen better on you. I wonder if you would have used your fingers if that would have helped with the coverage around the nose and on the dry patches since it can be used as a foundation and concealer. While I understand your position on powder, if I don't use powder I feel like all my texture is more noticeable. But I also have combo skin and I tend to touch my face, so I need my foundation to really set so that it doesn't transfer.
This is the faded result of a half and half mix of Arctic Fox Purple Rain and Poseidon (blue) =D though I've done the Orchid in the past from Pravana and it is stunning!
Hi Shelley! I just love your vids, and have purchased a few of your recommended products! Thank you so much! Im in Australia, so some items are difficult to buy, but I always research them xo I just wanted to ask whether you use any specific skin care products to keep your under eye area looking so hydrated and smooth? My under eyes look dehydrated most days even though I use very hydrating skin care products, and my lids are starting to look wrinkly too... so sad! Im in my 50's so I guess its to be expected, but thought you may have a recommended eye area cream? Thanks so much Shelley, I'm so glad I've discovered your channel. Much love & Hugs ! 💜🌸🍃 xo
Thank you!!! I do take my retinol products under my eyes (so right now that is tretinoin), and in the mornings I rotate between the No7 vitamin C eye cream and the Good Molecules wake up eye gel. And I take my facial moisturizer under my eyes as well. 3 or 4 days a week in the mornings I use Science Serum Bright & Tight all around my eyes (under and on the hoods).
Top 3 right now I'd say are Dior Forever Skin Glow, MAC Face & Body, and Wet N Wild Tinted Hydrator. Here's the whole list: geekoutofwater.com/foundation-fest/
I'm kind of surprised that a makeup artist couldn't make a true neutral foundation. It was definitely yellow! Why is it so hard to find a true neutral or cool tone foundation.
@@goow That is definitely true. It helps if they actually define what the shade and undertone is, but that's not always available and even then it doesn't always deliver.
Have you been able to volunteer at the... animal place... I can’t recall the name... because of Covid? Edit: THE TUFTED TITMOUSE IS MY FAVORITE BIRD. I love how they raise their little crests. 😍
Nope they have halted all of the tours and animal programs since the pandemic, and stopped having outreach volunteers come in person :( I'm not sure what the volunteer program will look like when they open back up to the public. Hehe I have SO many tufted titmouses here (tufted titmice? I have no idea how to pluralize that!!)
I didn’t care for this. I just don’t think it’s made for really dry skin. It wasn’t the worst. It didn’t feel heavy, cakey. Just wasn’t for me. It’s not my favorite finish. I bought the minis too. Also I think I was thrown off too bc of the shade tbh.
Hey Shelly, I just want to give you something to consider. I notice that you're losing weight. Here's the reality for those of us in our late 40's who lose weight.....for a period of time our "micro-wrinkles" become more prominent as our skin adjusts. I know it's hard to tell what is the foundation and what is the changes in the skin. It's a difficult transition and honestly, the only way I can figure it out is to super hydrate (I'm talking double applications of hydration mists....14 skins, I swear to God.....and doubling up on my moisturizers rather than going the slugging route. I personally go heavy with a snail mucin anything (serum to cream depending on how dehydrated I'm feeling) and following up with my tried and true Cerave moisturizer (the heavy one in a big pump). Once i"ve got my skin super hydrated then I try my new foundation. I'm also doing a host of other things to my skin to help it tighten up to the underlying musculature as the weight comes off. I've had to steer away from HA's while I'm going through this transition time with my skin. Also, I share youre Mathew obsession......he's starred in at least one of my Amazon reviews. lol
Omg deer!!!! That was awesome footage!! I love when you show us the wildlife you've got in your yard, even the birds I just love!!!
Loved the deer and the birds singing in the back ground, great video!!
You look beautiful as always!
That Misha BB Cream matches your arm so well you can barely even see it in every video you swatch it in.
It's such a hard-to-find undertone! It's also very similar to the discontinued CYO LifeProof in 101 (just a smidge darker than 101).
I wish more cosmetic companies would let you purchase samples..I think it would save them money in returns in the long run...our does start having their fawns in May and the last one’s in August...we have seen twins and a few sets of triplets...fun to watch! .....

I saw someone else saying for mature and dry faces, you should apply a facial oil first as a primer.
