Report then we use will if we are just repeating the whole scenario on his/her words just saying what he said to us then use would. For instance - she said to me - I will kill you. (Look I used i just to refer him/her i repeated her/him whole words what she/he exactly said to me. For instance- she said that she would kill me. (How I just said I what I was said I didn't repeat the whole words I mean I repeated but her whole actual line. Just I manipulate words in my language then I would use would.
