LED Strip boot light modification
In this videos I show you how to install LED strips in to your boot to improve illumination. I have to say that the results are excellent, I hop you enjoy the video/ Авто/Мото
"Make sure it's clean wherever you're sticking it." Great life advice. :)
Hah!
The actual video starts 2 28. Youre welcome
Excellent mod...so easy to follow. I’ll be doing this on my car soon. Thanks 👍
This is a great improvement on the poor trunk lighting VW does. I drive a Jetta and though my one bulb was bad mounted on the upper left facing down, but I didn't know the Golf had it so low on the side, if your trunk is full you'd see nothing. I'm going to try this improvement when the snow clears here in Canada. Thanks for the great vid!
Amazing difference. I need to do this for my passat.
Ah I really need to do this on my mk4!! What a difference! Another great vid, thank you :)
This was the best tutorial. Fantastic. Thank you! I will do this to my lancer soon!
Love the opening commentary about why the manufacturer couldn't have spent a little more for a decent trunk light!!! I paid extra for a Ford Taurus 'Limited'
that has extremely 'limited' trunk lighting- just one small, weak light on the left of the trunk.Terrible. Thanks for this.
Will do this on the weekend. Thanks for the vid. Looking forward to more. Would like to see a video for led footwell lights.
Great video, its the same with my fiesta.
Very nice!
cheers man just finished doing the lights. only thing I would say is that you can feed the wire into where the bulb sits in the housing to avoid having to split the light cable. looks great!
Thanks for the video, this will help me out a lot!
Mate, you are a legend!
Yea, that's brilliant idea! I've done this like months ago, but thanks for all your videos, they are really helpful! 👍
Nice mod I put black strips with bright blue lughts in mine because the blacks blends better and the lights stand out but works all the same
A budget of a packet of skittles...love it This is a great mod and a great video....I love the bit where you are actualy surprise how good it is. I am gonna do this mod.
Another exellent video by BMAC, but then again I could be bias....lol
Car looks awesome brother
thank you for this im doing it to my mk4 golf . can you do a video of the led strips in under the foot wells up front to interior light.
Thanks for the tutorial. Your steps and explanations are super clear ^^
Nice video bro ! :D Thank you !
very nice!!!
Great vid as always. You should do a sidelight bulb vid, they are a pain in the arse on mk4's.. Even harder when you break the tabs off the holder. Interior LED light conversion for the standard interior lights would be a nice one too.
Love it ! Great video!! Keep uploading!
That's beautiful, I was just going to swap out the bulb for a higher LED bulb.
Nice one buddy!
Nice! You're well funny cuz! 😂 Totally gonna do this! My light sucks too.
I instantly like the vid cuz of the way u present 😅
I love it!!
Will be doin this pretty soon to my mk4 gti
Thanks buddy great video like always÷!
can you do a vid on how to install bora air vents in a mk4 golf
Great job my dude! They look like it could be factory. Hidden very nicely bro!
I love your accent ;)
Trying to decide where to put my LED's in my corsa 3-door. Options are either side (although, the corsa doesn't have nice "purpose built" lips like this golf), under parcel shelf (with curly, extendable cabling), or on the actual boot hatch.
Leaning towards parcel shelf although it does look nice on either side. What LED's did you use, 5050, 3528 or 2835?
“The budget of a packet of skittles and some cheesy wotsits” I’m dying😂😂
Great job. You might wanna do the same for your license plate light.
what kind of cleaner./degreaser so you recommend? (Im in the UK). Can I buy something from a supermarket?
great video. Which type of led do you recommend? There is warm, bright, super white etc
can i just put the LEDs on the inner lip of the trunk cover , run the wires down the trunk cover and have an unpluggable thing ? (golf mk4)
Nice
Wicked vid mate :)
Thanks bro
I have a 6 watt 15 cm led "bar" in the roof of by trunk (Sedan) and it is super bright ! 😁😃
great video again, i initially switched the bulb for a led bulb but this looks so good I've gone and bought all the component and am just trying to get myself to give it a go. Th wiring part near the end is where i might get stumped, about where each wire needs to be connected. How do i go about this?
+goonzjav Get yourself a multi-meter and test out your vehicles electrical wiring as well as your own wiring. Polarity matters in this case but only to make the LEDs work. The reverse polarity will not harm the LEDs.
Hi mate, liking for videos I'm a beginner with this stuff but trying to do things to the car and you're videos are great only one question how is the led wires connected in the boot?
What size wire did you use to connect to the led lights to the car?
Where can you buy them lights from in the UK
Class
Another cool cheap mod I did was change the alarm led in the drivers door very easy and cheap no resistors or anything just pop old led out new 1 in and wire it u can even change it for a bigger led by drilling out the plastic depends how bright u want it also looks like ur car has aftermarket alarm because it looks different
Nice mod, really nice :)
Is there a way to make a mod for illuminated door handles (exterior)?
Foot wheel light (front &rear)?
I will be very grateful if you can get some spare time and have a look into it ..... By the way i do like all the mods that you do!
And i'm sure talk for others as well! Keep up with the good work!
Argahahhahaha! for the humour alone this video is class!.. VW ''Lets have a Joke today''!?! looooool!
Black Vin Diesel?? Btw great video
what sort of wire did you use?
Keep up the good work! U are helping me alot... ahah thanks man!
What wattage is the wire you used?
Man ,trust me ! I would pay you to do this on my golf ! It looks so awesome ..but I`m still afraid to try install all this kit. Some advices ?
My advice would be just try it. i just installed mine, followed bmacs instructions and they turned out amazing. just like in the vid. i keep going to the car just so i can check out how much bloody light there now is in the boot!
goonzjav Thank you :)
+David Cioara Most automotive stores and big box stores now have LED kits that work off a 12 volt source and are perfect for installing in your car. Just take the leap of faith and do it. Peel and stick usually and can be very bright.
If you have a mkiv like in the video I just did mine, looks great. I thought it would be overly bright but it looks factory and doesn't stand out at night, the light is high up and spread out enough to see everything perfectly.
Fit ~16.25" strips on each side. Hardest part was getting the rear trim panel back on for me. Ended up pulling the rubber seal for the lid away then the trim went on easier, had to carefully push the lower lip of the seal back under the bumper cover with a flat blade to get the seal back on. For power I didn't mess with any of the factory wiring decided to just solder my wires directly to the back of the factory light holder. Used the metal that holds the bulb (it still holds the bulb), figured it was far enough away from the plastic not to melt anything and it worked great.
I've had this issue. Replaced the bulb with a 2w flat SMD bulb off ebay and now the boot is as bright as the sun without messing about with wires etc
Send me a pic if what it looks like mate
Sure. Please note that in real life, the boot is lit almost evenly but this is taken with a camera phone with flash "Off" to show the light clearly. That's why only 1 side is lit properly while the other side is pitch black

@@BMACCARMODS do the wires have to be the same length?
Ok jay z , I see u lol. Man next time use red and black wires and soder the wires together and use a little bit of heat shrinking tube. But heybuse what you have and it works so 2 THUMBS UP one for the video and the other one for looking like jay z. If you dont know whos jay z gpogle him hes a rapper out here in the USA. Lol mad love bro keep the videos coming, and btw your gas pump video helped me out a lot man keep making videos. God bless bro.
Everyone knows Jay-Z bro, beyond reasonable doubt, Glad the videos are keeping you entertained, Thank you for the support.
At least you have a boot light! My 2003 Toyota RAV4 has NO boot light at all!!!
+Gavin Higgins you can put some wiring to the wires from the light bulb that is inside on the roof, and just pull it into the trunk, hide is somehow behind all the panels and voila ;)
Mine keeps blowing the fuse I cut the wires on the led strips now it doesn't blow the fuse. Gunna tear it apart tomorrow to see what's going on
Can you do a video on changing the colour of the unlock lights
What do you mean by unlock lights?
BMAC VAGS When I press the unlock button on my keys to unlock or lock my mk4 golf there are yellow flashing lights all around the car. I understand you can't change the indicators but there is two lights in the headlights that are yellow and only light up when i'm locking or unlocking my car. P.S. your channel is awesome! I've been watching all your videos for ages! they have helped a lot since i own a similar car in Australia
Troy Austin Thanks for watching my videos, it is so nice to hear that it is helping people all over the world. Changing the colour of the indicator would means that it would be that colour everytime you used it. Have you seen the mod you are asking for done before?
BMAC VAGS I haven't seen it done before, I've just seen a few cars have it. If not could you do a video on installing LED's in the footwell of the driver and front passenger seats thats controlled by a switch
Troy Austin Yes I will look into the footwell lights, that has been requested a few times
All that LED and your plate light isnt working...
Mirko Nejašmić i modded mine with ball lights that go on trucks
Led strip uses 12v dc, how much Volts that small OEM bulb uses ?
all things in your car uses 12 v lol
12 vdc. a quick test with a volt meter should show you the power at that light
You can also just buy LED replacement bulbs with a wide range of lumens that are very bright now that are plug and play. $8.
+plog1805 Strips are far more effective, i've done the LED replacement bulbs alongside fitting another courtesy light, still wasn't enough, did my own version, can see it on my channel, i don't wanna plug my video on here though, don't wanna be rude!!
Nice but you should put 1 more so alittle bit more brighter..
its a mod mate
i did it to the reg lights
it saves sooooo much power (3 wats .....)
Ace
Can you tell me what is oem bulb I only wont to buy LED bulb and replace it?
2021 anyone?
Meeeeeeeee

my vw don't have a boot light haha
They're taking the piss
They dont spend 30p on cars just for 1 extra light because at 1 million cars the cost would be... 300.000 £ !!!... ONLY FOR 1 EXTRA LIGHT !!!
And they know that this is not a major criteria for us to buy their car... just 1 light seems to us like its a luxury car compared to other cars that they dont have even 1...
Its just a marketing game... and just as funny as it looks... they make serious profits...
On my car... in 2003 models they put 1 light in the boot and 1 light in the glove box... in 2004... guess what... no lights !!!
It's BOOT, not Trunk. ....
Whats the difference?
@@BMACCARMODS
Everyone knows that the boot is on the back of a car ( booty ), and the trunk should be on the front ....where does an Elephant have its trunk?
Yup on the front 😂😉 ====> 🐘
Ha ha ha
Worthless
Then why even comment
