Normally I watch guitar pedal videos on RUclips and I wish the person would shut up and play, but Tore seems like such a lovely bloke, I just enjoy hearing him talk about the pedals, what a dude!
I liked this delay pedal but I have a doubt ... to make an effect close to The Edge (U2) what is the best delay, the tc electronic Echobrain Analog Delay or this TC Electronic The Prophet Digital Delay?
the edge uses a multitude of delays and heavy processing, one pedal will not give you that layered delayed sound,he has a full time personal sound/effects guy crafting each delay sound to each song and tempo.turn off edges delays and he is a very very somewhat average, boring, semi skilled guitar player.he is an illusionist tbh
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 I know that he uses several delays and I am aware that only a delay will not give the same type of sound but still within these two that I mentioned I wanted to realize which one would be the best...thanks for your opinion/explanation.
I think Fangs is going to give you more Metallica than Dark Matter or Grand Magus. Those are more your classic hard rock distortion like AC/DC and Priest.
Thanks for the clip! I have the problem that my prophet is cracking annoyingly basically in every repetition. With effect turned off it's clean, and other pedals dont crack at all with the same power connection.. any idea? thanks
People are saying that if you ude pedalboards you get your signal digitised and flattened , .... if you use pedals you have the raw , organic , sound with better dynamics .....they make pedalboards with analog pedals in the chain , and then the put a DIGITAL delay at the end of the chain transforming the signal from analog to digital and from digital to analog again when the signal leaves the digital delay pedal .... am i missing something here ???? if you are gonna use a digital delay pedal , why not use a pedalboard .....
Digital refers to the character of the delay pedal. An analogue delay is usually more bass focused, cutting off some of the treble as the trail goes on, resulting in a softer trail. The digital delay is supposed to replay the signal unchanged, making it cleaner sounding. A tape delay does the same as the analogue but with a touch of modulation on the treble side plus some focused mids. An echo pedal usually reproduces the sound more rounded with lower volume at each repeat. Also, most cheap pedals today do all of the above in a digital way so there is practically no way to keep the sound "analogue". But a dedicated pedal will have a much better resolution and carry the sound in a more natural way as opposed to a multi effect unit that has one processor doing everything at the same time. In case you are wondering, a digital delay will give your sound some space and thickness, an analogue will give it a fading trail but lose some of the space and volume, a tape delay will degrade it more clearly and an echo will probably just try to stay in between of all the above. [edit: in the beginning of the reply i wrote the explanations of digital and analogue the wrong way around, fixed it.]
@@isaaccarney4684 most modern delays come from a DSP, so the difference is on what they are trying to emulate, not the actual manufacturing method. But i did explain the digital and analogue EQs the wrong way around, so sorry for that.
You say this from experience? Do you have the pedal? I'm thinking of buying it, but if it hisses a lot, or something like that, I definitely won't buy it..
@barry h You gotta use pedals like this in your effects loop, not in front of the amp. If ya don't have an effects loop get a noise gate - problem solved. I have this pedal and it's very versatile.
Make sure you also have it plugged in to a proper power supply since it is digital, which requires a higher draw. Using a daisy chain will only give more humming problems and what not

Agreed! Same here.
This is exactly the kind of sound that I like. This pedal is great!
Purchased this today. Very well built. Love it

I baught on just after it came out. It`s great don't wanna miss it anymore!
Is it good in short slap back style of delay ?
I think I'll try it out. I've been looking for a second delay on my board.
This demo was very helpful. I purchased one of these at Guitar Center and appreciate Tore sharing some very musical settings. Thanks GC!
Love that guitar
Tore is a great player
Watched it. Liked it. Bought it.

how would you set it up for U2 songs..you know the ones...also, there is a slight increase in white noise or hum when I connect it to my AC10
Perfect little vid, im buying one now.

This is probably a stupid question but why doesn't it have a dotted eight setting? Will the 3/8 setting create a similar effect?
I'm asking myself the same thing

So I just purchased this pedal and I have a show in may and I am performing Pink Floyd's the wall. Any suggestions for delay settings?

what gets closer to a metallica type sound..the magus or dark matter distortion?
Slicknick 48 Dark Matter, I'd personally go the extra mile and try to get the MXR 5150 overdrive for Metallica tones...
thanks,i don't want to spend more than $50 on a distortion im guessing the mxr is double that price?
Did you try Fang? Good in different metal tones

Try putting your delay in the effects loop separate from your other effects pedals.
How do i sustain the delay if i wanna switch to clean mode without sudden change of sound?
You dont.
Does this have tap tempo ?
No
@@eltibu9036 thanks mate 🤩🙏

How do you get the delay time John Petrucci uses?
Probably by using a tap delay!

That is interesting question!
give yourself several years to understand guitar and effects...
Can you get dotted 8 with this?
You can technically with any but you have to know how to time it.
Yes, use a metronome and with hours of tweaking... You definitely can. It's not easy but it's worth it.
sterile pristine clean delay?
This isn't sterile at all. Not everyone needs an analog or warm delay...
Decent sounding pedal but...Noisy AF
