“Jugs and jugs” made me snort my tea and I’m holding you personally responsible. I love the image of the shuffle-off, and you petting your way through all your decks comparing the tactile experiences. Also I’m such a fan of the “not enough pennies” song, I sing it to myself regularly
Oops, sorry! lol. Honestly, the shuffling/feeling session was intense. I ended up going away to have a cuppa because I needed some time to ponder, and I still went back to shuffle/fondle the decks before choosing. Not having enough pennies is rubbish but I'm glad you enjoyed my inane impromptu singing. 😆
Love this so much! Fantastic deck picks for this tag. I actually adore the mass market squid cake card stock, it has such a delicious sound when overhand shuffling lol. I started dipping my toes in the TdM pond and I have such a new found appreciation for pip decks, I love them now. I can sit here & comment about all the decks but I’ll just leave off with fantastical & fun VR 🙂

It's interesting to hear your thoughts on the Anima Mundi deck. I came to this video after having watched your animal decks video, where you also brought it up, and people seemed to agree with you in the comments. I know other people, too, who struggle with the deck. So I feel like I'm the odd one out because I don't struggle with it 😅 I spent 3.5 years with The Wild Unknown (and The Wildwood, to a lesser degree) before I got Anima Mundi at the very start of 2020. My copy is all dinged up now. I've acquired a lot more decks in recent years, most of them heavy on the storytelling, but I find that Anima Mundi just... gets straight to the point. There's no fuss. No searching around. Sometimes it feels like a bummer because the cards will tell me what I already know, and I don't get "anything extra". But other times that's very refreshing, to just get the essence of it. And it's like the cards are saying "why the f you asking us? you already know what's up??" 😂 That can be uplifting and affirmative in and of itself. If I dig deeper and ask more questions, I'll get answers that I perhaps didn't know, and they will be short, sweet, to the point. So I think... Anima Mundi is a deck for me. We're great together. Perhaps Anima Mundi is not a deck for you. That's okay. I got Mary-el back in 2022 and I cannot with that deck. I pull cards and I sit there staring at them like a big f-ing question mark. Yet *I know* other people have amazing reading experiences with that deck without ever having to go to the guidebook for answers. It just be like that with decks sometimes.
It sounds like you have a really lovely bond/connection with the Anima Mundi. I don't know if the deck will ever fully speak to me, like you say, all decks are not fot everyone. Though I guess I hang onto it because it's beautiful but also because I have had decks suddenly speak to me after nothing and I have had decks that sang for me no longer read well. Maybe one day...

Well done, all pip edition. I watched Mascha's video, and she has the sexiest Marseilles decks. I did use all the decks for this... just close my eyes and pick a deck.
I looooove the color of the Gay Marseille, I love how the cards have a defacto edging. I was planning on edging the deck myself but now I have it in my hand I don't know what color would look as good! You're right that the Antique Anatomy had multiple cardstock weights. I wish I'd gotten the first printing of mass market stock, but that's okay. My deck is slowly but surely loosening and softening up as it ages.

Just a heads up though, I heavily modified my copy, I trimmed it, backed it with that metallic rose contact paper and edged it in the bloody reddish/pink tone. x
😊No worries I literally found it a few minutes after message looked at a couple of walkthroughs and found a french seller this is my birthday present to myself. Not sure how I’ve never come across this but I’m really feeling this. Speaks of the fucked upness but also a hint of how we can unfuck it all. Let’s see how it goes once I get to know it. 🙏🏼

It's by a UK based magazine but I think there are official sellers in other parts of the world too.
