The Tenno are not infected. They are powered due to an accidental warp drive through the Void. Also, Dark Sector has no connection to Warframe, as stated by the Devs themselves.

My favorite part of this game was the multi-player. Containment dudes vs a tenno was very fun and was a precursor to a symmetrical games like evolve and dead by daylight. First half of this game was alot of fun, 2nd half got extremely repetitive and felt rushed. I picked it up at a five below shortly after its launch, worth all 5 dollars I payed!

In reaponse to all the comments about whether Warframe is a sequel to Dark Sector or not: Think instead of Warframe as a remake. Like DMC is a remake of the original Devil May Cry. They reimagined Dark Sector and updated it. And it became Warframe. Not a sequel. A reimagining.
