Not anymore, Netgate is a much better overall solution. It`s really affordable even if you are just looking at the cost of new server hardware. Thats all they do, let the pro`s handle that, I can spend my time much better at somewhere else 😊
You should look into Mikrotik routers. They run cooler, consume much less energy - nearly half the wattage - and you can do almost as much as with pfSense+. Another main problem with Netgate's hardware/pfsense solution is that it'll max out at around 2.35Gbps for 1 single stream, which isn't great if you want to pull more transfer speed.
My brother uses Mikrotik for everything he loves them( He works for a small ISP) , they have some good products for sure, I ran into them, into the past here and there.
Sorry about that, do you have a specific question about this model, maybe I can answer it directly. We don’t have a whole lot of them in production, probably around 15-20 so far. They all work flawlessly, my only concern is the heat on the bottom of the unit. Where they need to perform, they can’t be stacked and I installed them upside down.
Very interesting! I like the variety of reviewing more than just PCs.
Do a lot of things 😊 Will get into other part of IT as well for sure.
Love Pfsense, great firewall!
Great product! Thanks!
Nice, finally a firewall. Are you still using server hardware for larger clients?

By any chance, do you have some hungarian origins? Your accent is very very close.
Busted! I am Hungarian, immigrated to the USA about 20 years ago.
👍
Thanks!
