M-46 Patton | Overview of the tank and armor
M46 - US medium tank of the second half of the 1940s. He also had the name "General Patton" in honor of George Patton, usually shortened to "Patton". The first tank created in the United States after the end of World War II, the M46 was developed in 1948-1949 and was a modernized M26 tank from the war. The M46 differed from its predecessor primarily in its new power plant and is considered the first in a line of Pattons, US medium and main battle tanks produced until the early 1980s.
