TX girl here. It's def not giving chili..this recipe is a good starting off place...at least it's chili. I would add at least 2 diff kinds of beans doesn't really matter what kind, always use an additional meat with the beef to add the hearty texture like chili meat or cube, bellpeppers, garlic, smoked paprika, camino, a good quality cooking ketchup, szn salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, a lil cayenne. Let it slow dance in the pot for a good bit and boom. And cook it all in 1 pot bc you gotta drain meat anyway so I just use chili pot to cook meat then take out to drain and start building chili sauce in pot before I add meat byke in.
