There is one catch here, most people put apps like insta or snapchat into secure folder but after putting them into it the apps cannot access the internal storage hence media is not shown in either of the apps.....needs to be fixed

Bro files folder k andar safe folder hey. You can add photos from Google photo into that folder and remove again too. I did on moto 40 neo. For safety try 1dummy pic at a time. Although there is option in google photos itself when you swipe the photo up you can see "move to locked folder". Haven't tried so I don't know.
