Didn't mention it in the video because I filmed this last week and I know it doesn't have anything to do with the content but I'm deeply saddened by the news of Kobe Bryant and his daughter's death. I was 12 when he was drafted and playing in the NBA was my dream as a kid. I would always be inspired by him and his will to be the best. Just take this as a reminder to be present with your loved ones because you never know when they'll leave you.
A cartoon on Comedy Central called "Legends of Chamberlain Heights" had an episode about Kobe Bryant dying in a Helicopter crash back in 2017......Coincidence???
Penn and Teller were actually in a bigger part in Borderlands 3, they were two big antagonists and Penn even voiced himself. Teller has a voice role too in the game. There's some cool easter eggs too, Pain's ring finger's nail is painted red and he has a three of clubs in his front pocket.
I like when magicians make jokes for justifications. He should’ve just said “I have all these ziplock bags with me bc that’s what I use for this trick”
Yeah, that was pretty tight man. Maybe not a complex illusion, but that'd be hard to pull off. Keep at it man, you might be on to a different kind of slight of hand. Like catching a fly with chopsticks. 😉👍
I was wondering if we upscaled this tech if hoverboards would be more tangible... enough speakers pointed in ways to create pockets of levitation under the board? Enough to support the board and human.
Haha. You can not scale this up that much. In order to make the wavelength of the sound long enough you would have to lower the frequency waaaay too much. It would not even be sound at that point. Biggest object to be levitated like this is a 4-5 mm foam ball. This unit uses 40kHz which means the biggest object you can levitate is less than 3mm. But we already have wind tunnels. Thats practically kind of similar.
I think that even if its out of the range of human hearing it will affect people in some way. It is a neat idea though and it might work for a bed but not a hover board though. How you set up the speakers in the ground? He said where the frequencies meet so you need speakers above and below.
This is exactly why I enjoy your channel so much! You don’t shy away from letting lesser known people get their stuff out there and seen by the masses. Good on ya, Chris Ramsay, keep it up. Plus, I’d love to get my hands on some of those puzzles you show, but I have a large family, wife and 7 kids, so don’t have much cash to put out for them. I will just have to keep watching you to enjoy them
I love the positive reinforcement that you give on Reddit post all the other people that are just negative and point out the issues or faults. Never change Chris you’re amazing.
0:00 the first box isn't square, you can see him put it in second box at a different orientation. And then when the second box is closed, it doesn't close all the way. The stripes are supposed to try and fool you into thinking that it's completely closed.
I like when magicians make jokes for justifications. He should’ve just said “I have all these ziplock bags with me bc that’s what I use for this trick”
When my son was 7 we took him to a magic show. He was amazed. He came home and decided he was going to do magic. With all the flourishes he placed a napkin over a salt shaker. Said the magic word and pulled the napkin off the shaker. The total look of devastation when the shaker was still there broke my heart. He got a magic set for Christmas that year.
Speaking of hilarious justification, I was thinking about how hilarious it would be if stage illusionists also had to justify their props, like "this iron maiden was my grandfather's, and ever since he passed I always take it wherever I go....also swords and a beautiful assistant. Ok let's do a trick"
@Will Heap The commenter means: Speakers use magnets to vibrate a disc in order to create sound waves (Irrelevant detail in this case but this is what the commenter pointed out). The speakers are arranged in a way that a bunch of standing waves are created (frequency is important too, 40kHz).Vibrating air molecules (aka. sound wave) keep light and small objects in the air by bumping into them and countering gravitational force. End of story. P. S.: This is a technology not meant to be scaled up (can not be done due to how sound works) fo any of those who are wondering.
Chris Ramsay is the goat! There's organic magic then there's organic content, Chris is so real doesn't have to put on an act. His demeanor inspired me to try my hands at recording magic vids for RUclips.
Hey Chris just posted on reddit yesterday about you bringing back magic and bam you hit me with a magic video lol. I enjoy you videos so much and the magic videos you do are always my favorite!!!!!! Puzzles are my second favorite but still enjoy and watch every video you post
You are an inspiration to a few of my mates and I here in Wales Chris! Just also want to say my wife hates you a little bit due to me being obsessed with watching your videos every night and repeating 1 or 2 of your tutorials for a few hours straight everynight :)
I 2nd that. My wife trying to sleep @ 2am: " Why are you awake? WTF is that sound?" Me, with my V3's and a grin: "Card springs!! Wanna see the Werm??" =D .....
For those of you curious as to how this works, this is something call acoustic interference. As most people know, sound comes in a wave and when you align multiple speakers together precisely depending on the part of the wave that overlaps, they either amplify or destroy the sound. In this little model all the speakers have the same frequency and thus there are certian points above the speakers where all the soundwaves come together in a single point. You can actually see all the points that the sound waves meet together at @3:54. You could measure those distances between water droplets and figure out the frequencies of the speakers.
I'm such a big fan. I have watched almost every single on of your vids! And have liked almost all of them! This video was my favorite one, since I love magic and i'm pretty decent at it. Hope you have a good rest of your day.

Good for you bro
Imagine scaling up the sound-levitation-thing up, so you could put a human in it, and then using it as a bed!!
I wonder if that would blow your eardrums because of all the frequency haha just a thought xD
I was wondering if we upscaled this tech if hoverboards would be more tangible... enough speakers pointed in ways to create pockets of levitation under the board? Enough to support the board and human.

He put the white box inside the striped box sideways so it fits

Yeah, his voice is really calming :)
