      Do u know that plans feel pain and “fear” when you collect/kill them and eat them? And that they have a protective mechanism to defend from “predators”? So you are not better than any carnivore, cruel too as the rest of us😉 (who eats everything- meat and plants)

    Went whole foods low fat starch based vegan ten years ago after hearing a speech by Dr. John McDougall. Best decision I've ever made.

      I heard heart disease isn't fat it's actually sugar .but the sugar companies pushed the fat theory :/

      @@naomicalian2696 Our brain needs ~200 grams of glucose (as in starch) per day, fat can only be digested via the liver where it is converted into ketogens when in ketosis.

      @@naomicalian2696 The opposite is the case. Science has identified fat as the culprit (choloestorol and saturated fat), while the industry is spreading misinformation and fake news via social media influencers and tabloid journalism.

      ​@@naomicalian2696It's both, but not all fat and not all sugar are bad. When we stick to Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition, we eat the healthiest versions of carbs, fat, and protein!

      He is so humble and shines so bright as truth. I am finding peace through being vegan I hear that inner voice but feel overwhelmed I don’t feel capable to make things happen. I’ll try to listen again🙏🏻❤️💜✨

      Agree! I could not believe when the Heart Hospital in Austin Texas served a friend of mine a huge pile of roast beef, slathered with gravy, after heart related surgery!!!

    5yrs. ago, when the book came out...Rich Roll interviewed the Ornish's on this subject. An interview worth watching, which was so good I have watched it 3 times. Oprah should have Dr. Dean and Ayesha Sherzai on sometime.

      Indeed. And this was a terrible missed opportunity. He could have said much more about that. Instead he chose to talk about how the soul lives on after death? Seriously? The soul? I am so disappointed.

      I agree. She is clearly disturbed because of her own limitations. We all have limitations. At times it's important to be quiet and listen. She doesn't want to learn. She wants to show how much she knows. I'm grateful she had the doctor on as her guest.

      Yes, she often does this, interviewing herself pretty much. She also says the name of the book incorrectly at least three times, keeps saying "Undoing It" instead of "Undo It".

    This is nothing new. Dr. John McDougall has been trying to change the way we eat for the last 45 years. Our processed foods, animal products are making us sick.

    Better late than never. Oprah, your mind will be BLOWN by the research done by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. Read his book "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease". Awesome, and what a gift to the world he and his colleagues are!

    I have been trying to eat organic for over a decade - but I frankly cannot afford it - so I go in spurts and then drain my savings - this is frustrating

      It's not necessary to eat all organic, just stick to Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition :)

      @@bryant475 sure - what about all the pesticides on whole fruit and veggies - there is enough on organic from overspray - no thank you - when I am spending my own money - it is organic all the way

      @@TwistedRootsVanVelzerPress You can still prevent/reverse diseases with WFPB Nutrition, without it being all organic. Wash well, use EWG's "clean 15" and "dirty dozen" as a guide as well. Also, animal products/processed foods have a higher concentration of pesticides/herbicides!

      I'm old enough to remember the time before smartphones. Not being a slave to social media or news 24/7 or certain entities tracking you 24/7. You have no idea how relaxing it was⛱️

    I'm on keto, off all my meds and feel better than ever. Dr. Ornish would hate the way I eat. For millions of years we ate animal meat / fat. Only a very short time span in humanity have we eaten these carbs and starchy vegetables.
