Oregon put in their 2nd string / underclassmen in the 2nd half to give them playing time for the obvious reasons... to ensure that (all) Duck players are seasoned going into the final (4) games to include the playoffs.

Forget about the Oregon game. Flush it. It's over and behind us. I graduated UIUC in '94 and have lived in Oregon ever since. Trust me. We are 5-10 years behind the Ducks and Phil Knight's funding model, athletes, coaches, and overall program investment. We can't control that outcome anymore; it was a mismatch from the opening whistle. However, we can control the execution, effort, and our playmaking against Minnesota in a true matchup game. Will be interesting to see if this staff can circle the wagons and regain the team's focus on Minnesota (now -2.5 road favorites at our place). Don't let Oregon beat us twice.

Does ticket sales and concessions go towards NIL for our players at all????? Just wondering 🤔

One thing I agree on with backers is they take terrible angles. Idk if it’s just cuz they aren’t fast enough or if it’s not being taught.

Listen to the whistle! Luke’s forward progress was stopped and the play was blown dead on the first drive.

I keep hearing about Illinois needs more NIL money to compete with the top teams. I contribute to the NIL Illinois collective. It’s not all about money. It’s about recruiting and selling the University of Illinois. Bret and his staff has to a better job of recruiting and selling the University of Illinois. University of Iowa 2025 class is half Illinois high school football players that are ranked higher than the University of Illinois Illinois high school football commits . That is unacceptable. Illinois has to start by keeping top Illinois high school recruits from going to frickin Iowa …

It is all about money. More money, better athletes. At the end of the day there was a clear difference in talent vs Oregon. Get your buddies to donate more if you wanna get top tier talent.

Lunney needs to recognize Luke's tendency to cling onto the ball too long, and call 50% of passing plays be dump outs to RB and TE where the ball is out of his hands in 1.3 seconds. Getting away from those throws to the flats is playcalling malpractice. If Luke wants to make it to the NFL he needs 1.3 seconds ingrained in his brain, and forcing it with the plaay book will help him and help our offense at the same time.
    Beat the Goophs.

Why is our secondary defense so bad at making tackles? How hard is it to wrap your arms around your man and pull them down? Instead we just push them out of bounds or curl up in front of them to trip them.

Another thing is Bret needs to get out of the late 90s early 2000s recruiting mindset. Concentrate on Illinois. Too many Florida players at Illinois. Concentrate on Illinois, Missouri, Ohio etc. Florida players are good but Illinois is not getting the best Florida talent. You might find a diamond in the rough. Concentrate on stopping top Illinois high school players that grew up down the street from the University of Illinois from going to Iowa . Drop the bag on Illinois top players instead of third tier Florida high school players.Bret’s idiotic recruiting let the top Illinois high school football players leave the state of Illinois and go recruit in Florida

OSU is soft so can we say PSU will beat OSU. And yes Illini will beat the Gophers !

We need massive NIL because defense is pretty bad. We dont have talent on the D that is made for the B1G. We have MVC talent on defense with highschool dc playing calling

That's quite an over statement for a 6-2 team.

@@mikeeckert6147who have we really beat? We beat even worst teams. Let’s be honest. The metrics even say we are actually a 50-60 type team. We just happen to beat teams in the “top 25” that didn’t even belong there either.
People are happy with mediocre (6-7 win team) only because we have sucked so bad for 20-30 years.
If we just got beat I would say, we just got beat. But we didn’t just get beat, we got out coached. And got coached so bad that Oregon put their 2s and 3s in ton play the 2nd half. The score would have been 60-3 if they ( Oregon ) wouldn’t have let up. This game was over by the end of the 1st quarter .
I feel like we are the NW team of the 2010-2020. Get 3 weak non conference wins and then 3 win in conference just to get to 6 wins a year.
The only reason we even beat Michigan is because they don’t have a QB.
Now if we come out and beat Minny, msu, Rutgers, and NW I’ll re-evaluate..
These teams have equal talent as us. But if their offenses put up 28 plus points on this team. We should be looking for a new DC 100%
Aaron Henry said “ we needed that” referring to Oregon treating them like a JV team. But why would they need that when we just got exposed against Purdue.
If the d didn’t learn from that, why would then learn from Oregon. This D look like they quit in the first half after seeing the talent oregon had. But it was heading by the horrible and scared play calling on both side of the ball in that first half.
Now if you tell me I am wrong, tell me why
