I have used Microsoft office PowerPoint 2019 to make this text animation but you can also use PowerPoint 2016,2013 versions for this.

It doesn't divide the pie pieces into separate objects when I paste it as a picture with enhanced metalife. What could I be doing wrong?

What worked for me was to copy the original shape then Paste Special as Picture (SVG). Then right-click and select Convert to Shape. That way it can be separated into objects.
