Tacho Prog3 I need your held to see if one of these machine can adjust vehicles from 2011 to 2014 vehicles. I would really appreciate your sound advice. Reason for these two(2) machines is because of the cost associated with each.
just got my ftdi digiprog 3 4.94, so far tried on a 2004 a4 by obd and was perfect, read 24c32 out of circuit and was perfect although in circuit I had trouble but I believe it may be the soic clip as its crap.
I am in Jamaica and mostly have Japanese cars to correct there mileage. So I was looking at Digipprog3 and also Tachoprog3. Thus, I saw your post, and also observed that you used both of these machines. The vehicle YEARS range from 2008 to 2014, sometimes up to 2016, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Mazda, Nissan, BMW, Benz, Audi and VW, yo name a few. What would be your advise on which of the two (2) diagnostic machines to be used to cluster mileage issues?
Why are you correcting so many newer clusters that normally don't fail, with some evening maybe being under warranty? Do you work for a car lot that rolls back odometers?
I have a test cluster from an 04 Ford with a Motorola chip. I would assume most of the fords are similar. What method do you use? I've seen someone solder wires on the back to the factory programming pads or can you use the odb port?
I've had luck with dodge through the obd port. I think ford also, but don't remember details, its been a long time since I've needed to correct a ford.
So three years later, what would you recommend? Do you know if these have gotten any better with software updates? Or has there been updates? Still seems like the cheapest way to correct mileage, as these are around $100.
The cheapest way is to get a eeprom reader and use a edditor program on a PC, I believe tachosoft is one. Otherwise I use a old tachopro and/or x100 OBDstar for making new eeproms for busted odometer error clusters.
@@jeffescortlx I later read in the comments you returned this unit. Can the x100 make mileage adjustments? I've seen you use it in another video for adding trans temp I believe.
