Hey Chance, I'm about to omega, and the first ship I want to get into is the Drake. Running wormhole sites is something I'd like to do once I have the skills. Anything I should do to avoid situations like the one, or is there nothing really? Thanks, I'd appreciate the help. o7
While I'm not chance, its not all that hard to avoid dying in a wormhole. Once you find a quiet hole to farm in, scan and bookmark all sites. Ideally you want a wormhole with only one entrance or exit, like a c3 with only the lowsec u210 hole. As long as the wormhole has only one entrance into a quiet K space system, or you crit/colapse alternative entrances, you should be fine. While farming, all you have to worry about is a new wormhole sig spawning, so keep watch for that.

I've flown a drake with a passive shield tank that took almost 2k dps to break. Depending on how much dps you are willing to give up for the tank it can be insane sometimes.

What's the secret to locking up a target after decloaking? I get hit with a message about sensors recalibrating after I hit the decloak and try to lock a target. I even have tried waiting a beat after hitting the button and still get shafted. Seems like I can't lock till the module is back in a state where I can cloak again. But that isn't what seems to happen here with you. Been practicing against belt rats before I head on out to WH space and it's got me worried I'm doing something very wrong.
Every ship in EVE Online has a sensor recalibration timer after decloaking, with two exceptions: Stealth Bombers and Black Ops Battleships. For every other ship in the game, you have to wait about 10 seconds after decloaking before you can START locking. The Cloaking skill reduces this timer by 10% per level, or 5 seconds at level V. You can also use sensor recalibration rigs to reduce it another 10% per rig, and you can use expensive (100+ million ISK) faction cloaks to reduce it. You can get it down to like 2 or 3 seconds but it will cost you. This is therefore a HUGE strength of stealth bombers/black ops compared to other ships.
Ahh that makes sense then. I've been practicing in an Astero. I've got cloaking 5 so at least that's something. I'll look into those rigs though. Not really. You just need prescanned sigs and someone who just have entered system. If he have not seen your probes or you he probably will start scanning, will decloak at site and while he is hacking he is most vulnerable for attack. It is not 100% but still probably your best chance to get him with Astero or anything with sensor recalibration.

If you're solo spamming d-scan is your only defense really. If you have friends scouts at the statics/wanderings in the hole you're in helps alot.

You can still use it, just need to use an out of game browser.

There's usually about 20 to 40 thousand people playing at any given time. The all-time high was around 59k, but there were also more bots back then.
