Yeah, this is it. The channel I’ve been looking for. Single ADV rider, camping, cooking, great footage. The ADV version of Scottys gone walkabout. Love it👍👍👍
Thanks for subscribing and getting on board Brendan. Im glad you like the channel. Scotty is a legend, he puts out some epic vids, I watch his content and want to get a canoe and go fishing.
That's a great video to watch. The area is spectacular! You made it very interesting with your camera work. I enjoyed your cooking too! I look forward to you next adventure. 👍😁
Really great video... I enjoyed it. You put a lot of effort into the production and it shows. Really well done. One tip for you... I don't know if you realise, but RUclips encoded your video with the lower quality compression algorithm... which sucks when you go to so much effort. I've just published a video about this and how you can force RUclips to give you "the good stuff" and use the higher quality compression. (I tried including the link to it, but RUclips wouldn't let me for some reason. sorry).
Thanks Brent, appreciate the help. I have found your vid. I did notice the quality is different to other channels. I’ll get that fixed straight away. Cheers.
@@DKADV I'm heading down to Vic High Country on an 8 day Adv ride in late March, so I'm definitely going to ride some of the tracks in your video. Nicely done.
Hay man your adventures are awesome as, your really getting into some serious country there on a big bike. What you do is what im about to try myself, not so big first off tho 👍... And yer man there are mowers up there, they are sambar deer!!! They keep alot of the fire hazards at bay... Hopefully meet up the wonnangatta one day. Love it in there. Ride safe...
Cheers Jordan, that explains it. I see plenty of deer on my travels. Stoked your getting out on the bike and creating your own adventure. Wonnangatta is on the cards this summer! 🤙
@@DKADV yeah, it would have been good. Any gnarly sections on those tracks? I was up there in November and it looked like a fair bit had been graded pretty recently. I’m sure it’s seem a fair bit of action since.
@@RoJo_moto Blue Rag was in good condition but you need to be on the gas, don't want to stop and start on that track. The graders were out when i went through, Billy Goats was getting done. Heading there next trip
Great video and comments. Hope you can share some more detail on joining from Alpine Hwy across to Whitfield. I was looking at Twins Track to Beveridges down to Goldies Track. But somewhere you joined Scotchmans Track. I carry a few injuries so your video and information is really timely. Tiger 800 XC
Hi John, glade you enjoyed the trip and thanks for subscribing. I do recommend Goldies Spur track, it is much easier to cross the range on that track. Scotchmans into camp creak is very steep and the river crossing (last one in the vid) Buffalo river is deep. I have been using www.newtracs.com.au for track research and difficulty. It’s a great reference tool and free.
The footage is beautifully shot/ edited mate, and it's country made for the drone, isn't it? Thanks for sharing this. What tent are you running? I hoping to be on a 4-day ride around Dargo and Bright end of next week, but Covid may yet intervene. Cheers.
Thanks, your spot on. When the weather is on point, it’s a pleasure to shoot. I’m from a hiking back ground and love super light gear. I use the big agnes copper spur ul2 for summer. It’s $$$ but packs down very small. So many tracks in that area. Fingers crossed lockdown ends on Wednesday.
Hi Dan, Just been up McDonald Gap, Castle Hill tracks to the Pinnicles on my Honda 300 Rally (7/1/24) challenging but great. How'd you like coming down? Then we went and did the Blue Rag Trig. From Talbotville, up the brewery road. Love your adventures and especially showing the track names of where going. Cheers
Which way did you head in to Mt Wellington? Just did Blue Rag and want to the do Mt Murray, did it two years ago in the 4wd in the snow. Riding an africa twin. Good video. Mick
Trekked up that way a fair bit over the years. (42 years ago in a Suzuki LJ50 4 x 4) I have just brought a Honda CRF300L Rally so looking forward to getting back up there as soon as the gates are open. Which way did you go to Mt Murray from the Pinnacle fire tower? (down Billy Goat track & up the crooked river?)
The CRF300L is a awesome bikes, great bike for the tough HC tracks. From the Pinnacles I took McDonald Gap Tk to Drago. High Plains road to Ritchie rd, Basalt Knob Tk, Blue Rag Range, Twins Tk up to Mount Murray.
Great Video, I hadn't watched some of the older ones. Do you think you would go a GS again ? I'm thinking I need the new F900 GS Enduro to complement my DR650 :)
Nar, more into the tricky terrain these days, so need the bike to be under the 200kg mark. Won’t be getting another BMW for off-road. The new f900 looks nice, fuel range may be an issue.
Maybe to help viewers find the vid, you could include the keywords 'ADV' or 'motorbike/motorcycle'? Also including some # tags in the description would definitely help for getting the video placed next to other motorbike content on youtube. Amazing stuff dude, loved the video!
Heading to Tasmania from Sydney for xmas. Thought we might spend a few days in the high country on the way. Hard to tell from vids but do you think blue rag is doable 2 up on a GS 1250 with TKC80 tyres? Looks steep but not too loose or rough.
Thanks for tuning into the channel mate. Blue rag is an awesome track. It’s steep, loose and rough. It may be a bit tricky 2 up. You can head down it and see how you go to the intersection at basalt knob track. Basalt will take you to dargo and is an awesome ride.
@@DKADV Cool thanks man. Great vids and i have subscribed. Might do it one weekend without my wife. So if you were starting at Corryong and wanted 2 nights in the mountains before popping out down south what route would you take 2 up?
Hey Mick, Castle Hill track turns into McDonald Gap Tk. McDonald Gap will take you all the way to Dargo road. Steep in section, all down hill if coming from the Panicles. It is a much easier route then heading down Billy Goats.
@@DKADV Thanks for that, I was trying to work out which one to take plus avoiding any deep river as some are still high at the moment. I will give this a go next week. Have you rellaced the gs for good with the husky?
