I believe it’s extremely important that other channels also make sure they’re recommending products after they have been using them for an extended period of time as you have, not just for a paycheck and a free product. Well done Ross.
Probably the first rv channel ever to state surge protectors are not the first line of defense, and oh how correct you are. The common issues aren’t protected by surge protectors. Revolutionary statement Ross. Makes ABSOLUTE sense.
Thanks again for your time and choices. We got our trailer out of storage and found a small soft spot in the floor of our bathroom so I will have my work ready for me. Keep doing what you do, helps the rest of us immensely.
I used to have a Progressive Industries EMS and it took forever to validate the power before allowing the circuit to open. Then I switched to Hughes and happy I did.
Ross, thanks for explaining things in a way I understand. One thing that makes my head hurt is knowing what lubricant, adhesive, and cleanser to use for which purpose and on what surface. A video on on this would be awesome
You're right the Carmtek door handel is the best. Saw it on your install video and then started researching them myself. It came out on top and the Carmtek is now on my rig.
Thanks for another great video Ross! Love to have all the products lol, really like the door lock system! Happy RVing this year my friend! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
I recently encountered a site the 30 amp circuit died late at night. Our RV has a built in surge/circuit protector that saved our wiring. I used a 50amp to 30 amp adapter and was able to stay in the site.
Ok… how did you walk through the titles!? 😂 Great editing! You’re going to make me buy new software. 🤣 Seriously though, another great video! Filling up my Amazon cart! 😂
Your editing is more than fine! All you need is software that removes backgrounds from humans. Post that cut clip halfway through the text transition. Simple in theory, just need a quick clip of you with no background. What do you use Matt?
@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS It was a very cool effect! I’ve used iMovie since the beginning but I feel like I’m outgrowing it. Thinking of making the jump to FCP. Especially after catching up on all your new stuff. 😂
They are definitely nice Jeffrey. I’ve tried fences that were permanently joined with clasps that folded up… hated them. Over engineered and too heavy. Crates are too small too.
Man I love your videos. A lot of helpful tips and tricks here. Do you happen to have a video of installing an additional 120v interior plug in? My trailer needs to get a couple added into the master bedroom
@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS It saved my bacon 2nd trip out. The pedestal had a major problem. The watchdog immediately went red when I flipped the breaker on. Someone has wired the outlet wrong after replacing a defective one.
I love the Hughes ems. They have the soft start surge protector to help stop the surge in the AC. Can I plug in the Hughes and then connect the soft start surge protector to the Hughes?
Surge protectors don't detect bad grounds either. My EMS was giving an error and the CG guy brought his own surge protector and tried to say my EMS was the problem, had him touch the metal entry handle and get a small shock...
It is IP65 rated. You will be fine, but industrial plastic can be zip tied to the top cord and draped over. I’ve done that before with cheap surge protectors. I’ll try to find a picture for you.
Ok, so I bought a used RV toy hauler and the previous owner had a surge protector with it. It’s a 50A surge protector but my camper is 30A. And I’ve been using a plug adapter to connect. Is this ok? Also, is the surge protector your using different than others? Mine is made by POWSAF. It’s 50$ compared to 200$ for the one you use. I’m not saying it’s not worth that. I’m just trying to learn the difference. Also, I do plug mine in at the campground power and turn the breaker on before I plug my RV into the surge protector to make sure there aren’t any issues. Sorry for the long post. Thanks for your help.
will be releasing a video about this, but your rv might be pulling too much amperage, depending on what appliances you are using. if the breaker isnt flipping, this could be your issue.
Love this channel. I’m going to enterabond in the fall. Can you recommend a site for a cover for 38’1/2 feet? I’m in PA as well. Where do you like to go?
I hate your videos. They inevitably cost me money buying all the things I didn’t know I needed. Keep them coming, bother. You'll probably save me a fortune on the back side. THANKS!
Haha, thanks Chris! That’s what it’s all about. It doesn’t matter to me if people like or buy what we make videos on. My goal is to provide experienced based information. Everything else is a bonus. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
sorry for the late response, I can only recommend what I have used, but there are definitely a lot of comparisons you can make on Amazon: amzn.to/3R1URI8

good luck with that repair. As long as people are watching, I'm not going anywhere.

I won’t have another RV without it.

definitely doable!
Great video Ross nice products your tpms did you change out your valve stems to metal or do you have the rubber ones thanks
Great point Corey, and yes! We upgraded to metal valve stems a while ago knowing we would be using a TPMS. Something I will be mentioning soon! 🍻
Our surge protector has singeing on the terminals. I guess it’s time for an EMS?

current back order, not sure when they will be back unfortunately.

Any car wash soap is fine. I never got picky about soap.
