Use 409 cleaner to clean your solid ruber rollers (never alcohol) and leave the foam typ rollers alone. You can use a soft brush maybe but no liquid. You find the soft type foam rollers in smaller machines and somtimes for secondary transfer. (Not the main transfer unit).
If you are still wondering how the belts differ. There are 3 types: intermediate transfer, intermediate transfer / H, intermediate transfer / C. / H and / C supports textures paper, simple belt does not support. / C service part only. Usually belt / H is used. Dedicated connector is used to determine the type of tape. Without it - simply belt. Blue - / H. Black - / C.
So I watched this video and it was really helpful, the rebuild went fine! Thank you so much. I opted for the 400 PM kit which includes all the parts for this and also the lower transfer roller that is not part of the intermediate unit. Any suggestions/video on doing that?
Thanks for another enjoyable video. Can I please ask as to what is your cut off point when it becomes more financially viable to use offset for full colour? Is 5k SRA3 sheets with A5 leaflets printed 4 up viable or 2.5k more realistic? I'm trying to get a few costings put together before I open my shop in March, Covid restrictions permitted . I come from an offset background so this is all new to me.
It depends on your labor and click costs. Generally it's not ideal to print leaflets (the same thing over and over again, i.e. non-VDP) in a digital press unless someone wants them delivered here and now. The final pricing for the job will be very high.
@@orestes29 I have 2 Xerox machines which I've purchased outright and most maintenance work is being done by myself so I don't really have any click charges. There must be a maximum number of SRA3 sheets that are viable on a digital press before they become too expensive to print.
@@caileanmoore2835 Yes I also own and maintain my digital presses on my own. Sure, you put in the labor to do what it takes to keep them running properly, but consumables aren't free. Say you print 5k 13x19" sheets with heavy coverage. That could easily use up a set of CMYK toner, and that's around 150-250 euros depending on your machine. Whereas if you printed it with your offset press (assuming you have one, even a two colour machine) you'd only have to pay for 4 plates (assuming the job doesn't involve variable data). Even if you don't have an offset press, it would probably be cheaper to outsource. Digital presses can't compete with offset in things like leaflets that many people want to buy in vast quantities and for cheap. Nevertheless, I'd say maybe for around 500 A5 leaflets digital would make sense? You can print more, but it's going to be much more expensive for the customer and most customers won't be willing to pay that much and understandably so. It really depends on the application. It wouldn't make sense to print 5k SRA3 sheets that are the same exact thing in a digital press but it would probably make sense in things like what Dan is doing, printing books where each page is different.
A lot of good conversation going on here. I would say find a trade printer and get their price. When you can beat their price run the job in-house. When you can make the same profit outsourcing or printing in-house. Then you can send the job out, or keep it in if you want the work. The key is to accurately keep track of all your costs so you can calculate your true costs. Most of what I print is low ink coverage so my costs are low.
thank you for the continued support you offer through the RUclips channel. Now we have been having a huge challenge with our C 3070, it all started with an error C 2221, which kind of meant the transfer belt unit was not closing properly, we figured out it was somehow an issue of some drums , once we changed them, we now encountered another issue, the printer cannot finish running the gamma quality adjustment or even colour registraton. It brings error C 2802 which has something to do with magenta drum issue. Basically now we are down and we can establish what the issue is, have you encountered such an issue , and might you have any advise? By the way we also tried changing the transfer belt but nothing changed the gama and colour adjustments fail. Looking forward to reading from you,
I am in the process of buying a ups store that has a c1060 should I upgrade it as I am working on doing perfect bind as well and what do you think about it?
Hey, i have question maybe you can help, we run 6136 80GSM paper A3 to make glue books (soft cover) but the pages are out very wavy and the RU isnt really helping in this machine, have any suggestions we can do? thank you
Try different paper maybe? Lower the power pressure setting, change paper setting on the press. Sometimes paper curl will go away after setting for awhile. Try flipping the paper and printing the other side first.
Hello alright? do you have the service manuals for your machines? I'm Konnica Minolta's technician in Brazil, if you want I can help you get them. congratulations for the channel.
Does anyone know how to fix a problem with c3080 konica. It says close delivery door of charge control unit? I replaced new sensor everything alse looks good A wiring connector pins are good .I wonder if there is a way to fix it from the system
Ideally every time before you start printing a new job. Try calibrating with your spectrometer, if you have one. Otherwise try running auto gamma adjust. Make sure you also have the correct RIP settings for the job.
May I suggest wintergatan music for the videos? There's a pay what you want licence on his website. An I think it would fit the style of videos better.
how to solve error code c-4531 on the konika minolta bizhub c1085 machine, for the gamma adj process it goes well but when I want the collor registry it fails, IDC unit has been cleaned but still error C-4531. And the ITB transfer unit has been replaced, please advise, thank you.
Am new here. Can you confirm that the drums for 1060 all the way to 3070 are interchangable. Am looking to buy the DU 106 to run on a 3070. Would the DU 105 also work on the 3070? Many thanks
Hey Dan I just stumbled upon your channel loving the content. Honestly was wondering if you do consultations or would be willing to start? I’d be interested in paying you for 30 mins to an hour of your time to just ask some questions to help lead me in the right direction. I make my own printed items and sell them online and right now I’m buying it all from China I was hoping to bring it in house in the USA and start up my own little operation in the states to print my stuff. Would love to get some tips from you.
You can email me at justaprinterman@gmail.com or join my pateron. Currently don't have time to schedule calls but would be happy to answer questions you send me.
Hi Dan , first of all i would like to thank you for all movies, and always for super explanations of the problems and solutions. Realyy great job as well as normal daily job :) Some mechanical solution are so easy, but effective :) think about 3d printer to use some printed parts instead a pencil :) i wold like to ask you for an advice. I use Xerox machines and OKI ES 9431 for preprint, and small ( very small ) production. I am thinking about buying Konica ( used ofcourse, new are too expensive for me). Which will be better for start ( spare parts cost , (maintenance i do myself), print cost, print quality etc..) Pro C6000 or 6500 or 7000. Thanks.
Do u service your own machines here in SAfrica we rent machine's with a service contract .. switching from Litho to digital was it better as i make lots copies
Hi Broo Good Afternoon A Big favor if possible I Have Printer 3070L Konica Minolta and the printer get Code Error C-5403, and I talked to the service company but they don't have technicians for this week due to the holiday. the printer is My not lease In your experience, do you believe that you can receive advice from you? how can I solve that? Thank you so much
Hello sir my 1060 is having problem with magenta color 1. The color is missing 2.alot of dirt on corona wire 3.blurry image on paper Will u plz help me
You made a big mistake. Every time you change the tr.belt you have to put settings Powder on cleaner roller, prevents damage to the transfer belt. Ηowever you did a very good job
Yes, that would be fun. Not sure that I could make money with it in my shop because of my customers. But I would live to have an old GTO just for fun jobs here and there!
You did everything so fast and skipped so many things what was the point of this video? Not to mention you didn't seem too clear about how to clear that menu and why exactly you were clearing it.
How would I know if it is time to change the transfer belt and rollers? I am getting random toner spots of all colors on startup and first sheets of a job, could that be the issue?
The engineering design of these machines (or any well-functioning machine) is brilliant and fascinating. Thank you for sharing these videos.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for this tutorial. I’m a technician and this helped me out a lot for my first time.
Great to hear!
Hi Dan, congratulations on 10.000 subscribers! Looking forward to your videos in 2021!
Thanks!
Happy new year man. Thanks for sharing these videos.
Same to you!

Interesting, I had no idea, thanks for that!
look it’s printing god back with fixing stuff
Surprise!
THANX BRO!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi...! Awesome sharing, thanx. This days im changing the same belt, who's your parts supplier; thanx again for sharing...!
I buy most parts from arcservicesco.com or ebay
Mr Konica Minolta at your service !
I do what I can!

Sorry, I don't know. How old are the developer units and developer? I would get errors when they were old.
Thanks for all the great videos. Can you advise on how to find and fix jamming on saddle stitcher c8000 Fs521. Any help would be appreciated.
I'd suggest searching google. Try cleaning rollers and sensors. Looking for bad bearings. Maybe try different paper to see if it changes.
Thx for sharing this video
You bet!
Can you make a video to fix the error C4505 of the Konica C1060L? Thank you very much.
I am in the process of buying a ups store that has a c1060 should I upgrade it as I am working on doing perfect bind as well and what do you think about it?
No, run it, they are pretty much the same machine.
Are u not using setting toner?
is there any difference between the C1070 and C4070??... very little.
Hey, i have question maybe you can help, we run 6136 80GSM paper A3 to make glue books (soft cover) but the pages are out very wavy and the RU isnt really helping in this machine, have any suggestions we can do? thank you

Годный контент!! Сегодня Ты меня выручил и сэкономил пару баксов))
Отлично, рад, что смог помочь!
Hey your videos are awesome man!! Do you have a video on installing the stapler unit for Konica Minolta?? We have a konica minolta 1060
No, I have never installed a stapler unit.
Hello alright? do you have the service manuals for your machines? I'm Konnica Minolta's technician in Brazil, if you want I can help you get them. congratulations for the channel.
I do have them. Glad you like the channel!
I used to work on photocopiers at my primary school when they had a unexpected breakdown because I was good with fixing stuff
Does anyone know how to fix a problem with c3080 konica. It says close delivery door of charge control unit? I replaced new sensor everything alse looks good A wiring connector pins are good .I wonder if there is a way to fix it from the system
We have C1060 and i feel colors are not balanced, too much red. How often these printers should be calibrated?
Ideally every time before you start printing a new job. Try calibrating with your spectrometer, if you have one. Otherwise try running auto gamma adjust. Make sure you also have the correct RIP settings for the job.
I calibrate daily.
May I suggest wintergatan music for the videos? There's a pay what you want licence on his website. An I think it would fit the style of videos better.
Great idea, that guy is great!
how to solve error code c-4531 on the konika minolta bizhub c1085 machine, for the gamma adj process it goes well but when I want the collor registry it fails,
IDC unit has been cleaned but still error C-4531. And the ITB transfer unit has been replaced, please advise, thank you.
❤️
Thanks for watching.
😍 cool, don't need to use setting powder on the belt bro?
Yes I forgot to include that in the video.
What would happen if you don't use setting powder? How do you do it?
Konica Minolta C3070 error code C-3912 keeps appearing and cannot be fixed. Can you give me some advice?
My 1070, have the yellow color printing off , make color registrations and nothing. Any advice ? Am in a hurry
Clean sensors maybe?
Going to buy c1070 used. For my regular job vinil sticker 12.000 a month. What you think ist good choice?
It depends on size and toner coverage and how fast you want to pay off the machine. 1070's are good machines and will make a good first machine.
Am new here. Can you confirm that the drums for 1060 all the way to 3070 are interchangable. Am looking to buy the DU 106 to run on a 3070. Would the DU 105 also work on the 3070? Many thanks
Correct they are the same for all of those models. You can check drum comparability on arcservicesco.com
if I want complete set drum unit + developer tank so how is the process..?? 552
I did a video about replacing developer units. Search my channel.
Hi solution of C2221 error pls

All three of those machines are basically the same. They would be great starter machines. The c6500 is what I built my business on.
Shout out to Alberto DeJesus the guy at KM who used to build all of the PM kits!
I think I'd like this guy...
Do u service your own machines here in SAfrica we rent machine's with a service contract .. switching from Litho to digital was it better as i make lots copies
Yes, I service my own.
For the most part you dont need to take out the long rubber rollers. (You can if you want).
Good to know.

Wow. I've seen James Bond defuse a nuclear bomb. But that's easy compared to your job.
It gets easier the more you do it. :)
Extend between videos man...
I have been thinking about that. My quality would likely increase.

Sounds like you just need to open it up and clean it. There are also side seals that can drop toner out. Maybe a cleaning blade is wearing out?
