I'm so sorry you went through that! I stayed in a rental years ago that was infested with them and the leaser had the nerve to keep that from me until the exterminator came and said it was an infestation and that "this takes time to develop which means the leaser knew and just ignored the problem." I lost thousands of dollars worth of my things, moved out and bought everything new, and lived in fear for years. I kept things in plastic bags, only washed my new things in hot water and didn't travel. I finally had to pray, be super cautious before laying in beds or sitting on couches at hotels and rentals. Bed bugs can get on new sheets. If they're already in the mattress, in the carpet, in the walls etc, no new sheets or "cleaning" won't remedy that. Def. keep the clothes in a closed plastic bag and leave in the garage. Dispose anything you can do without and leave your luggage in the garage too for a few days in a closed plastic bag. Any clothing, after you've kept them in bags for a least a week, put them in a dryer on high heat. I promise you I have never seen another bug since I did that years ago.

I feel your pain because I had experienced that with someone and they had to burn the whole .....lol, I'm kidding. But they threw everything away, the whole bed. They're had to get rid of.
Some independent contractors renovating my ceiling came in and out of my house for a week. When they were done and left on the last day, that night I woke up to them little creatures running away into my couch... threw the whole couch away and wanted to just burn down the house. It took FOREVER to get rid of them. But since I got rid of them .. I’m SO cautious. They are hard to get rid for sure!
OMG bed bugs 😭😲😮😟😠 I would've freaking lost it PERIOD💯
Hate them myself. A relative brought them over to my house when she stayed. We had to throw away a couch, mattress before it was over. They take sooo much time and effort to get rid of them. Some tips: they like to stay near their feeding source, so think not only bedding, but clothes etc. Don't expect to see them in hotels, they hid mostly and they're kinda flat, so they're hard to see. Instead, look for traces of them, brown spots near bed or on underside of bedding. If you wake up with reddish areas, itchy, 3 spots mean it could be bedbugs. Don't leave suitcase near bed, I would put it on table or even in bathroom. Remember they will travel and can on you or what you carry. Wash and dry all clothes, maybe more than once, but I would be more concerned about anything that was near bed, like suitcase, purse, etc. Again, it would be very hard to say those things are bedbug free cuz bedbugs are tiny, they lay eggs and lots of crevices mean lots of hiding places.
Bring a mini bottle of rubbing alcohol & tea tree essential oil I spray the bed,mattress, sheets etc. Sorry that happened to you!
Ashley, My Flight attendant co worker had the same problem with bed bugs on a layover. She had me take pictures of her waist because it was covered in bites from the bed bugs !!! The hotel manager denied the room had bed bugs ! She called a manager at the next base and they had her go to the company doctor ! A few years ago, there was a news report about the sudden rise in bedbugs in the US. Because t he exterminators can"t use the same chemicals that killed the bedbugs back in the day, it's hard to get rid of them . It has nothing to do with cleaning. The bed bugs travel from soft surfaces to another. !
You do know bed bugs hide behind baseboards, pictures and electrical sockets. ALSO, when we (humans) go to sleep we emit CO2, which attracts bedbugs.
Awwww hell to the naw!! You did the right thing. Once you experience that you'll be forever on the look out. They need to handle that. The cleaning crew needs to be reprimanded PERIODT.

OMG, when you cut from Indy to Boston, I legit thought you had to change rooms again. The problem is: the cleaning crew in most hotels are not trained to look for bedbugs. They literally have 20 minutes to turn the room. That includes fresh linens, towels, vaccum, toilet scrub, and note any incidental damage. Those rooms get a thorough deep cleaning once every three months. Bedbugs unfortunately get brought to management attention by customers, or by staff IF they happen to see it.
I'm sorry you had that experience.
When I stay in a hotel, first thing I do is check for crazy people hiding in the closet, behind the shower curtain, under the bed, then I pull the linen back gingerly, and hope for the best. I have never had an experience YET. touch wood. Great vlog as always.
We get alot of patients at my job with them but I mean they crawl so it doesn’t mean they didn’t change the sheets and no you don’t want a house full of them which is why it’s usually elders with them who can’t clean like they used too but they are not harmful otherwise unless you are allergic to them or have an infestation as mentioned where they are everywhere and you are laying in them and getting bit all over which Can lead to infection. They should have gotten you out of the room immediately and have the room sprayed and quarantined before putting someone else in. But my fear is they will just regular clean it and put someone back in it 😳😳
that’s why every time I book a hotel I always check yelp and see if the hotel has bed bugs

Be glad that you don't have to pay for that hotel with the bedbugs.
Oh...and watch out that you don't bring the bedbugs with you when you go to home. They lay eggs on your suitcase and they wil travel with you back home. And once the bugs are in your house it is verry difficult to get rid of it. Just a tip, your welcome.
This is my WORST Fear!!! I actually take a sleeping bag with me and put the bag on top of the bed and sleep in but you right what if they get on my s**t. I have a phobia of hotels! 😩 At this point I'm going to pack a twin blow up mattress with me. 😩
Bless your heart. I would have asked them to wash and dry everything on EXTRA HOT. Once you have dealt with bedbugs you will always be paranoid. Hey Rich how are you doin'?
Take it easy. Believe you me, it could be a lot worse. You are alive, you have a job, you are healthy you have people who love you and a warm cream home to go to. Don’t fret.
Look on Amazon and get a bottle of Hot Shot bed bug spray. It's travel size. I travel with it everywhere. I spray all beds!!!!

You do know they can be anywhere anytime, they could be in carpet get on shoes, socks and transferred onto a bed, couch ect, even in airplane seats not just beds ......ANYPLACE 😳

My aunt brings her own bedding, pillows, and cleaning supplies and she strips everything. I'm going to probably do that hopefully I can still do carry on since I don't care for checking bags.
Girl you never know where they are. They can be in the best of hotels. People bring them in and they don’t know they have them.

I know the feeling Ashley. Make sure you check in CMH as well. I recorded mine that was moving on top of the covers. It’ll take a minute to shake. Just keep checking the bed every time.
When you try to edit out what airline you work for but then you see a glimpse of the blue plane at the end and then you realize what airline in America has blue planes

You need to get "Diatomaceous Earth" can find it on amazon. that is an all natural product to kill bed bugs. Sprinkle it on all your items and your bag it will kill them right away. I was a FA for 13 years and had my fair share of seeing bugs and stuff. I always kept a bag of this around just in case.

I think I know what happened. Sometimes ppl go to hotels n don’t sleep on the bed but leave their stuff on it n leave, especially for short stays. It stays clean the whole time n when the housekeepers go to the room, leave the bed the same (sometimes they’re overwhelmed-so understandable), n what remains is whatever the guest brought with them. So that could be a working theory for why bed bugs were on the bed n not under it where they usually would be

Our pest control guy recommends to place luggage in the bathroom sink. Is the safe place.

OH MY GOD, that was the trip from hell!! The bedbugs are the worst!! Bedbugs took over the medical emergencies on the flight by far!! Anyways it was worth it to see you happy with Bella and a bit of Power in the background!! Love me some Ghost any day. Hotels need to fumigate all rooms man, that's a disgrace.

I was itching the whole video, OMG I would of freaked out too. I spray the bed down each time, or request that housekeeping come and change the bedding as I check-in. Glad that you did request them to change it in front of you.
@Fynest Chic Lysol! they have something at stores you can buy to for bed bugs. I always spray the beds down or I have housekeeping come to the room and change the sheets as I check in.

OMG. I just did a video on this telling people how I learned from you to check everything. Now when I travel, as soon as I check in, I have them change all the linen in front of me and while they’re at it just change all the towels and stuff too. I’m sorry you had to go through that. 😔

I was in DCA two weeks ago, I had a bedbug in my room. I was MAD. SO MAD. Everytime I go back to the hotel I am like, hey can I get a room away from X number and they look at me as if I was crazy 😂 You ain't making me sleep in that room even if it was clean!!!!

But you should let us know the room number to avoid in case we know which hotel that was 😉 isnt it crazy how a bad trip can just get worse and worse? Aww...I recognize that hotel. I spray a lemon/eucalyptus water mixture on the bed and pillow ..chairs. Idk if it truly works but so far so good. I ask for fresh pillows, comforter when I get there cuz hotels will change sheets only almost times.

Bed bugs travel on and with people..I have heard that they have also been found in movies theaters...they LOVE the dark and soft furnishings and hide in baseboards, seams on mattresses etc.,😲..I always think about it when I brush past people😲...70 percent alcohol in a spray bottle will be good to spray on the luggage when you get home...best of luck!

You should request complete bedding change at every hotel. The airline should get a different contract with a different hotel. Did you change airlines? I don't recognize the uniform.
