I'd rather tell the the broker I"m going to be late and loose the load, then tell the broker I'll be there on time and be late. The latter will give your company a bad reputation, and then that 1800.00 is peanuts to what could be lost with bad reviews. Sometimes we make the best decision we can and pray we are always correct. I've been watching you a long long time Johnny, and you don't screw up much, in hundreds of thousands of miles of driving year after year. Actually this was no a screw up, you thought you were going to be late or you would of never of told that to the broker. I think, you made the right decision.
Its also good to check underneath the trailier as a precaution to prior taking the trailier away, it's makes it good as a saftey prevention too as a driver .. 355 miles = 571 km's
JBG TRAVELS Still should crawl under just to check my man. Ive seen tug tests (my dumbass father) that gave false readings. He lost the trailer after going out the drive. Embarassed as hell but didnt damage anything but his pride/confidence... If he had any that is....
With sign-on bonuses you have to check the fine print. there are almost always terms and conditions attached.. requirements you must meet to the letter in order to get that bonus. Sometimes they find something to knock you for and disqualify you from hanging on to that bonus. Just like military sign-on bonuses: It's not guaranteed to be available.
He did a tug test. Why are all of you stressing over the bin and landing gear. The other thing if it weren’t locked he wouldn’t have made the gate let alone out the dock.
I'm Walmart Dedicated out of Wintersville, Ohio I run mostly Meat & Produce... That would be instance termination for us... We got to wait for the Yard Jockey to pull the trailer at least a couple feet from the door... Even if the green light is on... Somebody could be in the trailer is the thinking behind it...
Love your channel. Your videos are excellent but somehow they fall short of your character. You are someone I would be honored to meet. Who knows, maybe our paths will cross. Take care and God bless.
That was me with no jacket and no shoes funny thing was I started recording just after you popped into the parking lot LOL it’s funny you caught me by the way I’m from Florida that’s why there was no shoes
I’ve thought about driving but I’m 5’4 & 120lbs 🤷🏻♀️ I know how to drive I was the only person in the office at my exes families moving company & they needed just the truck moved & I did it. I’d be so scared with cargo or the big ass end though 🤔
$10k bonus but using trucks the majors get rid of at 500k miles when the maintenance problems start racking up? Will such a bonus entice drivers to drive junk, spending nondriving unpaid time in the shop?
Makes you wonder about the company when they gotta offer 10k to hire drivers the old saying if it sounds to good to be true well you know the rest The trucking industry what a joke
the problem is , well too many to name , low wages, shitty insurance, high fuel cost, high ins.rates. cheap freight. too many fingers in the pie. brokers make all the money .with no work invested. thats why jimmy got killed.dont get me started in government intrusion. cant even cook the books now. who wants to live in a truck for 50k a yr.
After every passing year, it gets worse! Every year brings more fees/ taxes/gov't corruption, and overall bullshit! The recommended "Michigan Specialized Truck Enforcement Team"; video, tells you all you need to know! Easier for day drivers, getting paid by the hour!
I was told that you can't have anything in the way of your visibility of the wind shield wiper swing. DOT regulations I guess. I had my GPS in the same location you do. I moved it to the top middle. I'll see how that works. I really like it where it was at.
That is correct...It basically boils down to someone caring enough to catch that though. He might go years without a DOT officer ever saying anything to him. On the contrary, a young boot could be writing him a ticket right now for it. Basically, are you willing to chance that everyday? haha
That sounds like a wonderful opportunity but I have no experience I have my cdl class a and tanker endorsement but am not able to drive love to drive went to cdl training at roadmaster in Tampa Florida
If only your boss would expand into Fla. maybe I'd have a shot. Still got my CDL, but unused for a long time after being o/o with my own MC number and DOT number. Got a business management degree, too. Do you think he would mind talking to me, at least? Here's wishing you the best on your upcoming trip East.
Not speaking from experience but I wouldn't say they're lying...I'd call it a half truth. You probably will get that first $1500...After that, I wouldn't count on anymore of it.
Sorry I meant the camera on your hat. I used to drive truck many years ago and a lot has changed. Drove 63' Diamond-Rio, no sleeper. It had a 5 and 4 twin shifter. Like your videos.
Not a trucker bit thought about it. But unless your owner/op it seems your getting bent over. After seeing what it breaks down to hell I'd rather join the military
Sounds like a sweet deal John. I live in GA tho.. Schneider is offering bonuses like theres no tomorrow. Thinking ADL is a much better company tho. Any benefits like health insurance?
Ghost, Not sure if your comment is directed to me or John, neither of whom are idiots, but it dosent matter. I only spoke of my personal experience with one company. I do not and did not claim to have 26 years driving experience. I was offered and received a sign on bonus, dispersed over a years time, no questions asked, It was taxed pretty highly tho. You might be referring to a performance bonus, as you know I'm sure is a whole different matter. That had to be earned quartely, and was not guaranteed. Your intentions seem noble and you are correct, as a recruiters job is to..recruit. New drivers definitely need to get ALL the facts about anything and everything that they can possibly think of, in writing BEFORE going to work for any company. The recruiter you spoke with might not even work there anymore by the time you finish orientation! All the best..
I'm moving to the USA in a Year or so. I'm Marrying the Love of my Life and uprooting my life in Scotland to move to the US-of- A. For instance, In the Uk, we just get paid a wage. no mileage allowance, Nothing, Just paid for the days worked. however, in the US it all seems a bit confusing. there seem to be different contracts, I'm just wondering which would be the best one to go for... could anyone maybe point me in the direction of a group or forum that could help or advise...Thanks Ray:)
I hear long-haul truckers are in seriously short supply right now with the economy taking off the way it is. Wait until corporate tax cuts. Jobs for everyone, get those back into the workforce earning a check.
"Jammin gears has got to be a fever, 'cause men become addicted to the grind". "All that country music keeps them going, as Will & Sonny keep on movin' on".
Is all your videos with the camera like that I hope so mostly people with scania and Mercedes do that in other countries I been trying to find a American Trucker that use the cam like this in subbing
I don't know how you can call yourself a professional walking around in flip flops, especially at the customers. If you want to do it in the piss covered pilot parking lot, go right ahead.
Just how were you supposed to pick up at 3 pm if you're also delivering at 3 pm. these brokers have no sense sometimes. plus shouldn't be calling while driving getting you all worked up.
Edward Enterline I've never dealt with a broker that wasn't a 100% pure certified prick!!!! Their butts are going home at 4 or 5 pm. The drivers will run all day/night to get the load to their destinations. And, I'm sure the brokers aren't hung out on weekends 3000 miles from home. I know, I HAVE BEEN.
Advice from a fellow Trucker from Kenya ,you never say That you will pick The load late????cam on Bro That's money you'r playing with .Its rather you deliver late than picking late.
Bla bla bla. He offers the 10G . So he can pick and choos his drivers. He might not have a new truck but he probably gets treated whith respect and gets his check on time. When you get a new truck in a big company your getting screwed. A small company you matter..
I'd rather tell the the broker I"m going to be late and loose the load, then tell the broker I'll be there on time and be late. hey jbg you forgot something to check to see if your king pin is lock and secure in the fifth wheel
I did do a tug
JBG TRAVELS Still should crawl under just to check my man. Ive seen tug tests (my dumbass father) that gave false readings. He lost the trailer after going out the drive. Embarassed as hell but didnt damage anything but his pride/confidence... If he had any that is....
you are right
agree 100%
Also never saw him doing a walk around of the lights. Never seen him go down the right side of the trailer at all.
I like the way you show us what you are doing step by step great video 👍🏿👍🏿

$10000 to get stuck in a truck that spends more time in the shop than on the road? No Thanks!
He did a tug test. Why are all of you stressing over the bin and landing gear. The other thing if it weren’t locked he wouldn’t have made the gate let alone out the dock.

Hey John just wanted to let u know I graduated today going to go get my cdl tomorrow morning:)

I was told that you can't have anything in the way of your visibility of the wind shield wiper swing. DOT regulations I guess. I had my GPS in the same location you do. I moved it to the top middle. I'll see how that works. I really like it where it was at.

Whould you rather the blue truck or a international truck
Wish I could sign up for the job! Seems like a good guy to drive for!
Im going to continue to turn the wrenches!
Must be nice to have landing gear go up that easy . In -30 here packed with ice and slush they don't like to work real sweet
Yeah i noticed that also, sweet trailer.
Great video JBG is that truck automatic?
Im not yelling at you jbg, but no matter what trailer u get..always always do a tug test bc learned my lesson the hardway once..
paul So did i. And i did a tug test and still dropped on me lol.
What happened? Did the 5th wheel claws not lock the king pin in or was the king pin damaged?
That sounds like a wonderful opportunity but I have no experience I have my cdl class a and tanker endorsement but am not able to drive love to drive went to cdl training at roadmaster in Tampa Florida

All I keep thinking is that truck could hold a lot of explosives lol.
Roehl offers $10,000 sign on bonus to experienced drivers I saw too.
Not speaking from experience but I wouldn't say they're lying...I'd call it a half truth. You probably will get that first $1500...After that, I wouldn't count on anymore of it.
How is the payout schedule on bonus ?
Sometimes on your head go-pro, the viewer's get a little motion sickness. But otherwise it is pretty cool on how you see it.
but i don't use a GoPro hahaha
Sorry I meant the camera on your hat. I used to drive truck many years ago and a lot has changed. Drove 63' Diamond-Rio, no sleeper. It had a 5 and 4 twin shifter. Like your videos.
I am a 4 wheeler how can you keep your eyes on the road with so mush info in your cab?

I was wondering what that arrow means in front of ur truck when you were making of fun of the guys PPE?
Not a trucker bit thought about it. But unless your owner/op it seems your getting bent over. After seeing what it breaks down to hell I'd rather join the military
10k? Time for Johnny to quit and then come back. 😂
Do you ever come through atlanta? I never hear you talk about it in the vlog. Have a good day jbg.
What 'feeling' do you hate? What are you referring to?

I'm moving to the USA in a Year or so. I'm Marrying the Love of my Life and uprooting my life in Scotland to move to the US-of- A.
Truck driving is going to be my prefered career option.I love it and it's pretty much all I want to do.
Question! as a Scottish HGV (CDL) Driver. driving in the Uk, what are the hardest issues for me as a new CDL driver in the US.
also, we use mainly Snooper Truckmate SatNavs over here, as well as TomTom and Garmin...However, Snooper (which is the best of the bunch over here) is not supported, so whats the best sat-nav to get. are there any other bits of tech that I should consider, I think I'm going to be working in the Maryland MD. and Ohio, Area.

It take the job but I have no experience. 10,000 dollars sounds great

I can fit one zodiac and a dog on a truck. and yes I can park it near some water to have fun
Yes and ten years from now you might get it
I hear long-haul truckers are in seriously short supply right now with the economy taking off the way it is. Wait until corporate tax cuts. Jobs for everyone, get those back into the workforce earning a check.
Dale Jensen corporate tax cuts? Corporations was paying little tax in the first place. Jump off that wagon before it goes over.
" It takes a special breed to be a truck driving man, and a steady hand to haul that load behind"! Merle Haggard.
"Big wheels rollin', movin on" I know it from Aaron Tippin
"Jammin gears has got to be a fever, 'cause men become addicted to the grind". "All that country music keeps them going, as Will & Sonny keep on movin' on".
Ya picked a fine to leave me 5th wheel. Four hungry kids and a truck in the field. Ya picked a fine time to leave me 5th wheel. THX Kenny Rogers! lol
Can viewers meet the man who's offering the bonus? I would like to see who I'd be working for.
Is all your videos with the camera like that I hope so mostly people with scania and Mercedes do that in other countries I been trying to find a American Trucker that use the cam like this in subbing

Just how were you supposed to pick up at 3 pm if you're also delivering at 3 pm. these brokers have no sense sometimes. plus shouldn't be calling while driving getting you all worked up.

Hello Johnny! How babyblue will become better in the near future.

$ 10k sounds completely desperate, it's for me 3 months pay as a industrial engineer, the boss really wants a driver
It was 4.5 years of education plus a lot of follow-up courses over the years
Tug test always keep tension on when in truck stops bang that fifth always
Advice from a fellow Trucker from Kenya ,you never say That you will pick The load late????cam on Bro That's money you'r playing with .Its rather you deliver late than picking late.
