An excellent series of a farming life told with a hint of nostalgia but also with intelligence and for the time a very forward looking, balanced outlook which still resonates today. It would be fantastic if this could be followed up by a look at the state of farming in Britain today and the geopolitical situation.

Thanks so much for posting this incredibly interesting and informative series. It really helps to understand why all the changes have happened over the years. It ought to be released on mainstream TV to help educate moving forward sensitively to nature

This is the best series I have ever seen wish this sound advice was adhered to by this ludicrous parliament today.

Fabulous, really enjoyed this, reminded me of my childhood as I was lucky enough to have been brought up on a farm in the 50s 60s which had one remaining heavy horse with all of the original tack
he remained on the farm in idyllic retirement

What a wonderful series of films
I'm not from farming but have been around farms in my construction career, I'm also interested in history, our history, especially WW1 and WW2, the food shortages experienced then, and again more recently, are indicative of the government and population turning their back on the farmer
Wish this series was used to educate, so the populous could see, where their food comes from, the inherent issues faced by farmer's and the nonsense environmentalist spout about farming destroying nature, I'm afraid its people destroying nature, growing population, the greed for abundance of power, and cheap products, there's more destruction from building, houses, industrial, wind and solar farms, our countryside, previously tended and looked after by farmer's are being decimated by uneducated and greedy populous

It's ridiculous that for half a century farmers have essentially been farming a subsidy.
