Jonas was in bathory for less than a year and he was the drummer. Then he was gone for 10 years and shows back up doing film and working with pop stars. Hes not Norwegian, he didn't know any of these guys and yet somehow hes an expert on what happened.

Varg pretty much told them to fuck off on the same level as Darkthrone did. It seems like Mayhem changed their decision. Necro also explicitly said in a Norwegian newspaper that he is not interested in promoting the movie, and that the producers contacted the band too late and that there was no dialog going on before creating the movie. As a result, necro felt disrespected after this incident.
As a actor I can confirm that it is hard to act and do an accent and act at the same time. It's hard to make your words clear, do the accent, and put emotion onto it at the same time.

My biggest problem (having not seen the film I should mention so all this is based on speculation) is that from promo shots and with advertising they portray Euronymous as some kind of hero and a really nice guy instead of the total piece of shit that he's described as by all the people who knew him. When even necrobutcher calls him a piece of shit a man who may have known him the longest you know he must have been a massive fucking turd of a man. The way I see it he was an amazing riff/songwriter and helped to build the legacy of black metal but as a person he was a fucking scumbag.
i just came back from the Australian showing of this and we were counting the stabbing, by we i mean the whole room of people 1..... 2........ 3...... as soon as it was over 23 so many people booed. it was 37 stabs by the way little dan

I’m glad I saw this film and want to see it again. I’ve heard it’s been picked up for distribution next year so i probably get a dvd, on the all the positives you mentioned I totally agree and in terms of bad side the voice over from Euronymous was preety dumb and the sex scenes with thic varg came as a weird surprise however, the accent thing I can forgive as you pointed out the actors trying to do Norwegian accents could make the scenes look preety stupid, Norsemen can get away with it since all the actors are Norwegian anyway but a bunch of Hollywood actors trying it could have made it a lot worse. Overall I’d give it a 7.5/10
No Varg didnt said he stabbed him because of the shotgun. They were fighting, and Euronymous wanted to grab a knife, thats when Varg grabbed his pocketknife. He didnt manage to get it, and THAN he ran into the room where Varg thought where the shotgun was.

I think the film could had been good if they didn't make it a goddamn Hollywood movie. If they had used Scandinavian cast and kept the teenage-drama-stuff in minimum, it could had worked. The movie was gonna get made no matter what the musicians connected to the stories thought and no matter their open opposition to it was. That being said, i wish they would have participated in the creation of the film, so at least its a little more truer to the story. I love the music and the history. the fact of the matter is that even the people who hated the movie being made are still gonna end up giving at view at the end of the day. Wish there was more band participation :(

Thought I recognised you haha, I ended up basically unknowingly cosplaying euronymous with a hellhammer shirt. Got the front row left side all to myself. Yeah the euronymous gf thing is completely fictional. I also agree the monologue was hard to sit through at the end because watching the guy who just got murdered narrate after he died just seemed really stupid. Honestly I find the movies version of the murder more believable than Vargs glass fragments can make knifelike stab wounds defence. Overall it was entertaining, would watch it again.

The police later found that euronymous had none of the weapons, so euronymous attacked him first and tried to kill him... with no weapons. Some people use the defence that varg could have brought a real weapon if he was planning to murder him. You don't think varg took a pocket knife because that's a more believable self defence weapon than a giant medieval sword.

i saw the movie and i Loved it . i went to the premiere in london . it was an amazing film and made me laugh many times in the best way . I really went in not expecting to love it . but i really did , and i cant wait to own it on blue ray or something next year . i know exactly what you mean with the bullying of varg hahaha he is really not going to be happy ! i was really so impressed everybody hating on the movie needs to watch it and enjoy it for what it is .

the movie is just awesome . those that don’t watch it because they’re too elitist will miss out on something great 😌 it’s just an interpretation with some actual events mixed in but it is really respectable of black metal and a great representation of the attitudes of the band members and characters at that time and their age . it’s really beautifully done , left me with a big smile , black metal fans should be grateful 😌 not hateful it’s really fun and in moments quite deep . it’s a movie . better than the majority of modern movies .props to the director and actors .

the movie is just awesome . those that don’t watch it because they’re too elitist will miss out on something great 😌 it’s just an interpretation with some actual events mixed in but it is really respectable of black metal and a great representation of the attitudes of the band members and characters at that time and their age . it’s really beautifully done , left me with a big smile , black metal fans should be grateful 😌 not hateful it’s really fun and in moments quite deep . it’s a movie . better than the majority of modern movies .props to the director and actors .
