Kathryn - I'm speaking to you from the future! (hahahaha - December 2015) It sure would be nice to see a new video about you years with freezer meals. What have you learned? What have you stopped doing? What should one avoid or stock up on? Etc. We are coming up on a stage of life (newborns coming very soon) when freezer meals would be a God-Send. It would be great to have a video on what was learned-on-the-job from someone who has been there already. Thanks!!

Put the onions in the food processor, especially if you have that many. You can even do them in a big batch and freeze so you don't have to chop them for everyday meals.

It took my husband YEARS to come around to veggies. I really like how the one recipe has shredded carrots in the ground beef. You can't even taste it and it fools you into getting a serving of veggies! ;)

I no longer have a large family to feed, but I think that this is awesome to give to someone who is ill, or has just had a baby. It's fresher than something already cooked, and can be eaten when the recipient feels like it

We use the "crock pot" brand programmable slow cooker. I think they are around $40-$50. In terms of money saved, I buy meat on sale (in bulk) so in that regard, it is much cheaper than buying it full-priced/in smaller quantities. I think the biggest thing that I save is time, though...esp. if you are already a bargain shopper.

Great time and labor saving ideas! Who wants to cook everyday, especially if you are working all day. It's so much easier to throw something in a pan or pot and cook it up for a meal if all the shopping, washing, chopping has already been done. Or better yet throw it all in a crockpot in the morning and it's done by dinner time! Love it!

Loved the video. We also prepare meals and freeze. We buy fresh potatoes from Costco, bring home and cook, and freeze. We make mashed potatoes, home fries, etc. it is very handy to get out and microwave when fixing meals. We also buy onions, celery and peppers when on sale, cut and dice up, fast freeze on cooky sheets, then put in zip lock freezer bags. So handy when making casseroles soups or stews. So many good ideas on your sites, as well as others. Thank you for sharing .❤️👍👵🏻🐶

This is fantastic. I've seen photos on pintrest of food hauls for freezing down meals but this is the first time I've found a video for it. Definitely going to come in handy. I work form home and the family always thinks that means I do nothing during the day because what else would you do from home? So I'm always looking for ways to stretch my time to complete my paid office work AND do the chores and find shortcuts for dinner time. I like making food from scratch, or near enough knowing exactly what goes into my meals. Thank you so very much for making this, it's going to help me greatly as I can save time on the weekends to pre-pack all of my meals!! x

Great video. I do this from time to time and it really is wonderful when you come home from a long day. Another thing that I do is I will cook a very large meal say for instance lasagna. After we have eaten I will then divide up what's left over into large meals size packages or individual packages that then go in the freezer. It works out really well to have different sized meals in the freezer for nights when my husband is working late and I've already had dinner I can pull a smaller portio

Tip #1: Double bag the meal (1 bag w/directions & 1 bag w/out), you can reuse the bag with directions, so you don't duplicate your work. Tip #2: I use a magnetic clip on the side of the freezer and put the empty bag with directions on them and they will be ready to reuse. Tip #3: On my fridge next to my meal plan and grocery list, I have an inventory of my freezer meals...it make it easier to meal plan and write up the grocery list. HTH!

I love those crockpot liners. Makes clean up so easy...
I just found a chicken taco crockpot recipe and I love it..
    4 half breasts chicken
    1 cup salsa (whatever heat)
1 can of diced tomatoes ( i used rotel) you can drain if you want.. I didn't.
2 tbsp of taco seasoning (or 1 packet)
Slow cooker for 3-4 on high or 7-8 on low
Pull out the chicken about half an hour before its full time and shred the chicken put it back in the juices...
    Serve with corn tortillas ..
    Its Amazing!

You need yellow, red and green peppers cut up, and onion. then a can of texas style fire roasted tomatoes. 1/2 a pack of chicken taco seasoning. onion powder, garlic powder. two cans of drained beans. I like pinto and black beans, and i use one of each. some frozen corn, and then shredded chicken( i boil it in a pot on the side if im making this stovetop.) after everything comes together ..

Sometimes when I can't find the time in one day to stock the freezer I will double or triple our daily dinner meal as often as appropriate over the course of a couple of weeks. This puts some extra meals in the freezer too. While not quite as efficient as having a big cooking day it does make a difference and I'm dirtying the pots and pans anyway so I just cook a larger quantity.
