And General Dynamics and Northrop Grumman spend 3 million of that 1.5 Billion on lobbying five key Senators. Haters gonna hate regardless of the facts. Virtually everyone I know including Rabbis and many Jewish friends are over Israels policies on the border areas and their treatment of Palestinians but not whether or not Israel is a legitimate State. Everyone I know despises Netanyahu. EVERYONE. Netanyahu and his supporters have set back Israel and the jewish people back 20 years. It's just awful nd tragic and one more example of how the fight against fascism everywhere in the world continues. I think Americans are just sick of all of it and finally have hit their limit on subsidizing religious wars. Right or wrong, that's how they see it, religious people killing each other over beliefs.

I’m not going to lie I’m shocked by the incredible bias in this discussion. Israel absolutely has a right to defend itself, as most right thinking people believe. Where is the outrage for the thousands of innocent civilians, esp kids and women being killed? It’s mentioned as a mere footnote when it’s the primary reason people are against the Israel government in this conflict. Scott is normally a straight shooter calling it as it is. Unfortunately not in this case.

I have to agree. These conversations that minimize the ongoing genocide ultimately lack credibility. Scott and Dan are clearly aware and against this violence on innocent civilians but clearly don't want to talk about it openly. That's why all these conversations have an air of insanity around them. It's like COP28 being run by an oil sheik. "WHAT?! Who's running it?! That can't be right. But yes, yes it is right and pretty much insane. IF you're serious about solving the problem. My conclusion remains in all things, financial people are only responsible when it costs them nothing. I've never heard anyone questioning the Country's right to protect itself from any threat. When Gutierrez said that the Hamas attacks did not happen in a vacuum, Israel's UN ambassador demanded his resignation.

Criticizing war crimes is NOT antisemitism! Criticizing a 16 year siege is NOT antisemitism! Criticizing expanding your borders by supporting violent settlers is NOT antisemitism! Criticizing military courts deciding on civilian matters in the country next door is NOT antisemitism! I would criticize any other rich democracy for doing even a tiny fraction of this! @sjg 16 years having a terrorist organization who are about killing people, causing human rights abuse in Gaza and stealing money to build tunnels an launch rockets.
It was disappointing that Mr. Senor didn't even acknowledge the 10K -15K innocent Palestinians who have been killed (some of these are Hamas, which I don't care about). There is no acknowledgment of the illegal settlements in the West Bank. There is no acknowledgment of how Palestinians in the West Bank are subject to military law, but Israeli citizens are subject to customary civilian law. We see children and teenagers detained by the IDF with no charges ever filed. I agree Israel has the right to defend itself, although they have used a sledgehammer when they should be using a scalpel. The key to fighting terrorists is to separate the terrorists from the population. Israel had the moral high ground after Oct 7th, but they are starting to lose it. I understand the Palestinian Authority is corrupt and incompetent, but Israel should not use this as an excuse to impose collective punishment on the Palestinian people. I understand the history is complicated, but at this point, I don't think it matters whose grandpa killed, whose grandpa, who preys in which direction, and what mistakes both sides have made. There are only three potential outcomes for Israel: 1) a two-state solution, 2) absorption of the West Bank and an apartheid state, or 3) Continuous occupation. Two & three are not viable. In the long run, a two-state solution is the only solution for Israel. Netanyahu (who has propped up HAMAS for years) will be finished when the war ends, and Abbas is 80. Hopefully, a new centrist Israel government and Palestinian Authority leadership free from incompetence and corruption can move toward a two-state solution. Israel does not have a long time to make changes; as Professor Galloway points out, young people in the U.S. are turning against the Israeli government. It also gives all the bigots (everywhere) more opportunities to spout anti-semantic language and worse. I would recommend reading/listening to Thomas Friedman to really understand the situation in the conflict. He has been studying and writing about this topic for decades. Professor Galloway should have Mr. Friedman on his show.
They are "losing the moral high ground"? That is what they want... the whole situation is designed (by Iran and Hamas) to kill kids as part of their propaganda campaign. They are the ones who want genocide and are willing to sacrifice their own children to achieve it.

FIRST - among this is the implication that only Jews are vilified and prejudiced in this fashion. NOBODY is claiming or saying that they have not been treated horribly over recent centuries. That history is well documented. Racial and tribal vilification is something that's gone on since Cain and Abel (as in since the start of civilisation). if you want to see tribal vilification where there is not a White European, Arab or Jew then look at Africa, Asia or the Sub-Continent.
SECOND - Other than a groups like Hamas NOBODY is claiming Israel has a right to exist as a Nation. THAT WAS ANSWERED AFTER WORLD WAR 2. What screwed EVERYTHING UP, was the Arab Leagues interference in a 2 state solution back in 1948.
THIRD - there is a group that seeks to Ethnically Cleanse the state of Israel and that's the Zionist Settler Movement. To claim Hamas want's to destroy Israel while IGNORING what the Settlers do is so hypocritical.
If Israel was using a sledgehammer, the numbers would be much higher and there would have been no warning to leave the area. The Palestinians (or their reps) rejected a two-state solution every time it has been offered. Israel should absolutely return the land they've taken from the West Bank--most Israelis agree with that. And Netanyahu should go but he refuses to budge. While young people might be turning against the Israeli government, over 80% of them cannot even tell you which river and which sea their signs are referring to or what that means for the Jewish people. Given some of their answers (Caribbean, Atlantic, etc.), I don't think the government should be basing policy on what the kids want. Many have a pretty limited understanding of the history and are not even sure what the Holocaust was. I am a somewhat liberal democrat but this entire situation is eye-opening. I was trying to get people to pay attention to the young women (and men) fighting for their lives in Iran for the past few years. They are being jailed and much worse over not wearing headscarves properly. Not a peep from the social justice crowd. Boko Haram kidnapped hundreds of school girls and there were a few social media signs asking for the girls to be returned (they weren't). No protests. Why? It's as if there is a fear on the left to criticize atrocities committed by certain religious groups. Why are feminists and women's groups not speaking up about the atrocities committed against girls and women by both Hamas AND regular civilian men who came across the border on Oct 7? There are plenty of videos out there if you want evidence. One cannot compare what happened to these girls and women to unintentional deaths of civilians in an impossible war environment. What is Israel supposed to do? If they do nothing, Hamas has promised to commit Oct 7th over and over until Israel is gone.

I said the same thing a couple weeks ago, yet here I am. I think if you've made it this far you realize Scott's a smart, interesting person with smart interesting things to say, especially with regard to young men in this country. I disagree with him on all of this stuff, but I would hate for somebody to only look at the worst thing I have to say. A lot of people are reckoning with some of this for the first time in their lives, especially baby boomers, so personally, I'm trying to give everybody a break as long as they're coming in good faith, and I believe he is.
You are not alone in unsubscribing. Clearly Scott is only about money. The crazy thing is the description of the woman fleeing the Holocaust but cannot see it happening in front of them. Yes Scott pushing this propaganda is just like what happened in Germany in the beginning of the twentieth century.
I haven't seen anyone post a two-sided discussion on this. Either they are purely pro-Gaza or purely pro-Israel. It is very frustrating.

Ive always loved Prof Gs takes on business, life, parenting, and general topics. I think many of us are extremely disappointed by this take, the one sided-ness of it. Im all for bringing on people with different viewpoints, but a good interview/conversation requires pushing back on obvious false narratives and acknowledging FACTUAL crimes (factual in the eyes of the UN and global dipolomacy). There was none of that.
Most people in the west are blind to the entire Israeli project, it's quite disappointing.
It would be nice to have a 2nd point of view.

This is so badly timed that I lost a lot of respect for Scott. I wish I could unsubscribe but Scott’s (tech & business) content has been so valuable to me for so many years. So much whitewashing for a racist country built on the suffering of displaced Palestinian populations and European guilt. The guy spent the first 3 minutes talking about the Holocaust in an attempt to justify the atrocities we see in Gaza today. Only to tell us that his grandmother lives in occupied Jerusalem now. There is no Genius in Israel. There’s an extremist country built on one religion where Jews from Europe and Manhattan live in homes previously owned by local Arabs.
How is that any different than islamic states built on one religion? Which also subject non muslims to islamic law and human rights abuse to Muslim and non muslim populations according to every Human rights organization and the UN. If Indians can accepts the muslim state of Pakistan then Palestinians can accept Israel.
You can also apply the same thinking to Jewish people who were thrown out of muslim majority countries whose families had been living there for centuries. They were forced to leave after the Arabs lost the war of 1948 they force over 800,000 jews out, most ended up in Isreal.

Next time you discuss this issue, please discuss Israeli policy of what people call illegal expansion and settlements and connect the dots between Israel defending itself from those policies that the arab and Palestinian world call provocation. Bonus points if you discuss the narrative of Israeli war crimes, are they legit? Why or why not?

My theory :
Perhaps it has to do with the fact that Israelis have stolen and still steal other people's land and putting them in what can only be described as concentration areas without the right to self determination. As an hypothesis, if your guest would have done this to me or my family, I would not be happy, I most certainly would retaliate in ways that he and his family might find most disagreeable.

Far right in Israel and Hamas will not be able to find peace, how do we help find an alternative. We miss much of the needed conversation if the focus is antisemitism.
My friend just recently moved back to Israel from NYC. She is absolutely elated. It's all about the community and comradery. You just can't measure that in terms of money.

Absolutely one sided - No one denies Israel’s right to exist and thrive nor defend itself against the horrible attack by Hamas on 7 October but this was 30 minutes of ostrich like thinking with no discussion of successive Israeli governments efforts to scupper the Two State Solution, the Netanyahu government’s deliberate policy of dividing the governments of Gaza and West Bank and the encouragement of right wing Israeli settlers in the West Bank! I'm totally sympathetic to Israel but this guy's arguments made me lose some of that sympathy. His argument that the IDF is being held to a higher standard is not plaussible. THe UN says the IDF is starving millions of people in Gaza and that people are living on one meal each 1-2 days and a couple cups of water. I wanted some discussion of how to think about this, how does this make sense into a moral strategy, not someone telling me that every army goes into full Ghenghis Khan mode and we should merely look the other way. Choosing a guy who led efforts to lie to the world about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq wasn't a great choice.
This is patently untrue. Check your facts. There is enough aid being delivered to Gaza right now to be stuck in warehouses. Gazans are not starving.

When I was a kid growing up in the 60's, almost every store was closed on Sunday. Whether you were an observant Christian (or a Christian, at all) or not, this made Sunday a day for family or just playing. I think this is probably similar to the dynamic the Shabbat brings to Israeli society. Having experienced how Americans spend their Sundays today and how they spent them then, I tell you for sure it was better then. I was just more relaxing. For many it was religious. For everyone, it was a day where you breathed a little easier.
No thanks. I don’t want a religion telling me how to spend my day. Maybe that worked in the Bronze Age or in societies where everyone had the same religious views (which never happens; there is always a suppressed minority), but not in liberal democracies, thank you.

The history of Antisemitism is real and terrible and many Jews have been the victims of anger and frustration that should be more appropriately directed towards the Israeli governing body.
However antisemitism should not be confused with legitimate protest against and criticism of those who would support or ignore Israeli sponsored apartheid in Gaza.
Thousands of Palestinians had been killed by the Israeli military and settlers prior to the horrific attack by Hamas October 7th that killed over 1000 Israelis.
As of March 16, 2024, over 100,000 Palestinians - most women and children - have been either killed, wounded or are missing due to the Israeli military siege of Gaza. More will die from starvation or disease. Hundreds of thousands will always suffer from PTSD.
Netanyahu is no fool. He knows that the devastation he has brought to the Palestinians by catering to the most radical members of his government is the greatest recruitment tool that Hamas could ever hope for.
Because Hamas is not just a group. It’s an ideology. And all the Israeli government are bringing to the destitute Palestinians is pain and rage. Perfect ingredients for cultivating many…MANY more new Hamas recruits.
You cannot kill a violent ideology with even greater violence.

No individual Jewish person bears responsibility for the atrocities carried out by the Israeli government unless they are actively spreading falsehoods, supporting or ignoring the devastation in Gaza, and dismissing the value of the lives of the 10s of thousands of innocent Palestinians intentionally being killed.
