True but maybe Brown calls plays that actually match the pass protection. Short slants, quick routes, and not route trees where the receivers backs are still to Caleb 3 seconds into the play
@JacobRamsey - It hasn't been determined if the OL is the problem. If it is, then your point makes sense that a change in OC may not improve the offense. We will not know until we see what Thomas Brown implements. Thomas Brown had a similar situation in Carolina last season with a rookie QB and an average OL. The difference is the Bears appear to have a better QB, WR's and TE's compared to Carolina. It should help his cause. I am looking forward to seeing the changes he makes and with him calling plays upstairs. It gives Thomas Brown a different perspective because he sees the entire field and hopefully autonomy to fully call his plays. As stated in another post, this opportunity for Thomas Brown is an in-season tryout for OC or even HC for 2025.
No one is bringing up the fact that we have a Rookie who has full autonomy to change the play at the line. So I think some started that narrative but then someone else chimed in and the convo changed. Briggs and Brown. So we fired a patsy, justifiably- the world will never know if it was all Shanes's fault. Caleb checks a play at the line, and he still gets sacked or they stuff us for not more than a two-yard gain. Shane may have called a great play Caleb changed it. Want to know coach or QB strip Caleb of that ability and see. Going forward
@richardgrabert4919 lmao. You think the athletic scrambler would change plays to get sacked 9 times a day? Eberflus or Poles are in the mix and trying to not have another Fields cause that was a huge issue that he just cannot stay in the pocket. other players should be noted as well. We focus on when they are open but what about the fact they are usually covered.
The thing I don't get is that Shane Waldron was praised by all the media when he got hired to be the Bears OC.. everybody was saying he's going to do such a great job our biggest problem is going to be finding another OC for the next year because he's going to move on to be a head coach somewhere.. now everybody's saying that he sucks etc. shit like that which he does.. all it basically comes down to is it's hit or miss you either get lucky and get a good guy at the OC or that you don't...
Umm your right except the media lies if you listen to Seahawks fans and players they said he isn't good enough and then he got fired if he was any good why didn't they retain or promote him and what other teams interviewed him the proof is in the pudding
I remember the narrative was he did such a great job with Geno Smith. I did hear a Seattle beat writer say his 3rd n short play calling was terrible m. Definitely hit the nail on the head
Seahawks fans were celebrating last year. The NFL media is a bunch of coach blowers always blaming the players & sucking off the coaches like their Matt Nagy Fan Club in 2021!

I can’t believe how casually we talk about players quitting on the team and how the coaching staff is losing the locker room. I am held accountable for every little thing I do at work. I am expected to be professional at all times. My attitude would be addressed by my superiors if I became lazy or defiant in any way. I make 75000 a year. At what point is it ridiculous that multi millionaires are allowed to do anything but give 100% no matter what the circumstances. Something is truly broken when those who make the most are allowed to get away with what those who make the least could never.
Qb is holding the offense back. With a bad line every single opportunity needs to be taken advantage of. Caleb is throwing like 10 bad passes every game.
FGB but we're going to get blown out by the packers for sure. The OC was just hired a couple of days ago, I'm guessing he's going to work with the same system as Waldron. No real changes = same results.
No need to do that, it's not like that they have even 1 game here on that is even remotely winable, unless by a miracle the opposition does not show up.

If there was a chance Flus would be fired they would have done it when Waldron was removed. It would make no sense to fire the OC one week and the head coach the next. They’ve made their decision to ride with Flus until the end of the season.
Eberflus' defense has kept the Bears in every game except one when Montez Sweat was out with an injury. Is Eberflus the problem? I don't think so. Ryan Poles took a risk not trading down from #9 and maybe in the 4th round to get more needed draft picks instead of seemingly reach to draft a WR when the Bears had just traded for Keenan Allen and have other young WR's on the team. They also reached to draft Tory Taylor who isn't better than UDFA Ryan Rekhow of the Bengals that the Bears could have drafted in the 7th round. It wasn't an efficient draft and the Bears are thin at OL and possibly DE, as a result. They also wasted a 2025 draft pick to draft Austin Booker who rarely plays. I think the Bears had a weak draft.
Caleb to the bench? I know at this point you have to play him. But we're the Bears. Lol we dont have a good qb development systen, we have never been able to develop a qb. What makes this any different? The same is going happen as it did with Trubisky and Fields. Fields at least had 3 years exp. in chicago. I would have went with that, and let another team overpay for my pick. Then you beef up Oline for Justin.
Brown will run the ball more, shorter passes with Caleb, roll outs, quick outs, screens, quick slants, etc. OL getting healthier. We prolly get blown out by GB. Cheap ass Bears must fire Flus at end of year and if Brown keeps impressing ala a Mike Tomlin, Bears promote him to HC/OC on the cheap. Typical Bears.
Why fire Eberflus when the problem is a bad GM and a bad QB? Williams holds the ball way too long, and the Chicago line isn't that bad. The one responsible for all of those sacks is a man named Caleb Williams, who holds the ball way too long. Successful QBs in the NFL get the ball out of their hands quickly. The passing game relies upon rhythm and speed. Williams plays like a backyard QB, not an NFL QB. And the GM Poles picked the wrong guy #1, as well as having made several boneheaded trades (Roquan Smith, Chase Claypool, Khalil Herbert) as well as several boneheaded draft picks (e.g. Odunze instead of a lineman), dumping Darnel Mooney (who is doing quite well with a REAL QB in Atlanta. Mooney has over 200 more receiving yards than the top Bears' receiver D.J. Moore). And stop with all of the excuses for Caleb Williams: he's got a good team around him; it is his poor play that keeps the offense from moving the ball.
The Chicago Bears gotta stop hiring these soft shoes sales man coaches and bring in tough-minded coach that understand how to a football team!!!! Can't be afraid🐻🏈🐻🏈🐻
If you watch Kent’s podcast the 85 where he talks the firing, he talked about how some guys on the team don’t pull their weight on off days and away from the building. His host then directs it at rookies like rookies just don’t get it. Kmet seemed pretty frustrated as much as to say you gotta figure it out now because we have to win now. Feel like if we’re talking impactful rookies he’s not talking about amagaje your 4th tackle and not talking tory taylor your punter, heck probably not even talking your top 10 at bc he’s wr3. Felt like he called out Caleb
How are the Bears gonna move the ball? All of a sudden, Caleb will be able to throw? It's gonna be a blowout. Get your shovels out. R.I.P. Chicago Bears
Caleb is still a rookie and fans need to relax. The way the league pushes for rookie QBs to be incredible right away is tiring. Waldron was a bozo as a play caller, Flus (I like the guy), but he's not the guy as a HC. The Bears need to move on from Flus this offseason (like they should've done last offseason) and get an offensively minded coach who can be the handcuff to a young and talented QB. Otherwise, the Bears QB carousel will continue, and Caleb will be the next victim of it. Poles needs to break the cycle or he will be canned and the team will be back to square one....again. As always FGB
I do not want to see Williams get messed up or the Bears to loose, but I want Eberflus to be GONE!!!!!!! I hope whatever has to happen to get rid of everloose happens!!!!!
Why is it that the only coach that Flus has kept for his entire tenure with the bears been the o-line coach even though that has been the biggest weakness
I'm not very optimistic about our new OC. He was the passing game coordinator. I don't know how much he did in that respect but, good gravy it's been a train wreck.
McVay endorsed Waldron before the Bears-Rams game so what does that mean! Most of these coaches complement each other to keep the media off their ass so who knows how anybody truly feels!
Bring in a Ryan in to be a DC get a quarterback guru to be offensive coordinator and get you a good head coach who can motivate these men to play even when there backs against the wall
I like Polymarket instead of Vegas. It’s the 3rd most heavily traded game with a significant line towards the Packers. Only games ahead of it are Chiefs/Bills, with Buffalo slightly favored, and Bengals/Chargers, with Chargers slightly favored. Basically the Packers are a slam dunk to win this week.
McCaskey's have no clue. They are nothing like George. Poles has failed with his goals and deserves to be fired as well. I remember Mike Ditka and GM Jim Finks - told the Bears they would be in the Super Bowl in three seasons. They met that goal, and exceeded it, as they became one of the greatest teams of all time, if not the greatest.
Clean house poles to and anyone who decided on putting that atrocious Tampa 2 defense together letting go David Montgomery and going after the receivers forcing a rookie quarterback to put the ball In his hands instead of allowing a strong running game to help your quarterback needs to go
Cole Kmet said the bench Caleb shit didn't happen. Someone said Silvy's source was Tyson's dad so who knows. I tend to listen to Cole on this one and if it was Tyson's dad that's fucked up.
It wouldn't surprise me if Eberflus comes back for another year. They'll use the injuries as the reason why they stunk. Plus, Eberflus signed a 5 year contract (allegedly), and McCasky's not going to pay an ex coach that nuch money
I think it’s set and stone now he’s getting fired after this last stretch he has of chance of finishing 0-11 since after the bye week if he’s kept another year this franchise is doomed
Packers: [after taking a cheap shot from Bears] Ah, Bear. That was a cheap one. But you are good. You have a good center of gravity. But that old school football stuff is just... I don't know. It doesn't fly around here. You gotta mix it up. [delivers a touchdown on the Bears] Packers: Stings, right? I bet it does. [delivers another touchdown on the Bears] Packers: Your teams all jacked up... Can't put any pressure on them maybe... [delivers a third touchdown on the Bears] Packers: And now for the bad news. It's gotta end with you looking like a B in front of everybody.
How could Poles say anything at this point. He was going to start with the O-line. Commanders turned their line around in one season and it was in worse shape than the Bears was three seasons ago. If George has any sense and trusts any input then he has to consider replacing Poles.
I am done with team until Eberflus is gone. One more try after that and I am done with team if that fails. Because next McCaskey will have to sell and that isnt happening
All defensive head coaches are failing . The front office has to find a new model , a new culture . Make a team not mercenaries. Everyone on the same darn page .
anyone who doesn't do their job well should be fired and that goes for anything. Also, George McCaskey needs to hand over the reigns because he has done nothing but run this team into the ground. Fired Lovie after a 12-5 season and everything has been downhill since

anyone who doesn't do their job well should be fired and that goes for anything. Also, George McCaskey needs to hand over the reigns because he has done nothing but run this team into the ground. Fired Lovie after a 12-5 season and everything has been downhill since
The bears better play hard
Hoping for a blow out by Green Bay then it will blow everything up!
Not If When!!!!!
I pray the bears let up a “70 steamer” as Brandon Perna puts it
Flus won't get fired even if the Bears get blown out by 50 pts
It's because we had a good practice and that's what matters
