I have heard many folks covering Michael and they have the technical skills down and can faithfully recreate a number. But, I saw Michael perform live and they can never recapture that spirit he had. Lovely rendition, I still miss Michael. He was a special spirit. 🙏🏼
Beautiful. I've listened to much music with my mind and heart and sorta semi-professionally(on-air dj alternative FM). I'm old and loved and saw live in NYC Eric Clapton in the late sixties. I love superb guitar. Ragamuffin has become one of my favorite tunes, full of life, emotion, guitar wizardry. Played very well here. Good luck.
Yeah, right-hand-string-stopping felt like learning to walk again but it makes all the difference in Michael's music. Obviously you managed to master this technique.
Thank you so much! I agree with your statement "right-hand-string-stopping felt like learning to walk again"! When I first started practicing, I thought I couldn't play the guitar at all!
Hey, I just discovered this version of it by you. Now I have 2 versions at different angles that I can struggle with trying to copy. Maybe this angle will help!
I started out to say that your rest strokes and harmonics are sublime ..... which they are ....... but it's so much more than that really. I had the privilege to see Michael Hedges perform seven different times, and at least two of those times he perform Ragamuffin. I wish I knew how to say your name, 徐梅琴, because you play the spirit of Michael Hedges. If your culture allows it, I would love it if we could see the look on your face as you perform. Michael smiles when you play.
Thank you for your kind words. My first name is Mei-Ching , last name is Hsu. My face is usually very serious because I am too focused on playing, this is a problem I have always wanted to improve, haha. There are other videos with faces on my channel, if you don't mind you can check it out. : )
