  • In today's video, I Spent 100 Days in No Man's Sky... Here's What Happened. No man's sky is an open-world PVE game with an infinite universe to explore. In no man's sky, you are able to create bases, farm, buy your own spaceship, and explore the universe. With many unique planets, there are a lot of things to do. You can also create farms, complete bounties and do quests. This game is enormous, so there is no way I will be able to do everything, but I will try to get as far as I can in 100 days. If you enjoy today's video make sure you like and subscribe.

You can max out all the achievements, finish the main lore storylines (which I assume is what most people mean by 'end' - at least that's the main definition I would go for), or you can try to get to the very last galaxy (the 255th) if you like travelling. So I assume what people mean by 'end game' is probably usually something like "having a lot of achievements, having most recipes unlocked and having pretty much finished the main story elements" or something like that

I’ve been rocking with this game from the beginning. I’m a Stan for any and everything space. When this game was released it was like a dream come true. Very rocky start, but I knew from the get go the devs were passionate and would fix their mistakes. What I didn’t know was that theyd still be dropping updates 6 years later and counting. To me, it’s the most relaxing game to just get lost in.

Bought this game on discount after it was torched for being “unfinished” from Walmart for $20 in 2017. It was a little janky when warping and would crash occasionally but I had a blast playing this game. Even when it got somewhat repetitive, It kept me because of the uniqueness of each planet. Beat the game and waited for the updates. Updated about 3 yes ago, transferred my game and proceeded to blow myself up twice as the button layout had changed and lost all of my inventory. Haven’t played since but this video made me want to go back and beat the updated version. Cheers Bruv!!

I really appreciate the video, it was fun to watch someone's first 100 days. I did note a few things, which you probably know most, if not all of these by now but I wanted to share incase you might be missing some of these tips. If you've built a farm you no longer need, you can delete the buildings for full reclaim value; so the radon farm collectors could be moved 1:1 to another farm type. Also noticed that you were collecting minerals from rocks that were not scanned . . . it came to my attention that scanned resources produce higher yield. The 'S' Silver node could be incredibly valuable for farming nanites as silver & gold make platinum . . .and platinum / silver / gold make nanites.

You can buy a module that turns your wires invisible. Also, you use your scanner to locate an electricity hotspot (same as you use to find gas hotspots, just cycle through). This way you can essentially power your base without solar panel/battery farms.
A radiation or toxic resistance module? You need both. As well as heat and cold resistance ones.
Also, scan everything you are farming. It gives you a secondary resource that you can either sell or keep. Get a scanner upgrade module and you’ll earn hundreds of thousands of units for scanning single flora/fauna/minerals.

Afaik activated indium mines are still the best way to make units after stasis devices (which are very very hard to make a farm for). You just need to put like 4-6 extractors together and connect them to each other and some storage units. Then repeat again and again, always with enough space between the extractors and don't connect them to each other. If you build 8 extractors the way you did (all connected to each other), you end up with like 2500/hr but if you space it out, both couples of extractors get 2500/hr. Also at some point it'll be more efficient to build platforms in the sky above the spots with a high mineral density.

Final tip... don't bother editing terrain for your base. It will, eventually, grow back, due to the way the planets procedural generation.
You can, however, stack power generators. Each successive generator will produce the same amount of power as the one on the ground. This is because power veins radiate vertically. Meaning you can just build a platform at the point you want to place your generators, to create a flat surface to sit them on, they don't need to be touching the ground, so long as they are in the correct co-ordinates.

    • @makrostheblack4791
      @makrostheblack4791 Год назад +1

@BradynLee Not disappear.... any land you cleared to place it will grow back, over it eventually. Essentially burying it, as the base will still be there... in fact, if your teleport room happens to be in one of these locations, you can inadvertently cause yourself to wind up clipped into the void under the ground if you happen to teleport there after the ground has regrown.
It's important to know, the rate at which this land mass will all grow back doesn't seem terribly predictable. For example, I've created a base before, where I've had the ground grow back within the space of a day.... a friend of mine has a base that didn't grown back for a good number of months...
When placing base buildings, I tend to like using the prefabs. I'll place one down, directly on the ground, stack a second one on top, delete the first and then place the four pillar foundation on the prefab, so it's not just floating in the air.

During the day, connect an asston of solar panels to a bunch of batteries, run one wire through all your batteries and after they have a good charge. Slowly attach whatever to one battery. You can check the batteries menu and it will show you exactly how much using and charging at once. Trust me I was confused for a while too

In case you haven't done it and the game interests you (and since sandbox games are good for this video format), considering making a video of Kenshi. With persistence, you can go from a fumbling nobody who dies to hungry bandits to someone capable of soloing well-armed city guards. It's a very interesting game, although I could never play it without save scumming because of how easy it is to die (you basically have to have one person on standby to heal up your other teammates otherwise there's a good chance any non-blunt damage will put you into a recovery coma with decaying health, meaning you just lay there and die over a long period of time), but it's a very fun game.

if you do a part two on this, don't connect things straight to solar panels. If you wire solar panels to batteries, it will collect all the power and only start to lose it at night. Also my favorite way to make money is by scrapping ships in the space station and you'll collect parts which can be worth a lot depending on the ships class

For Power, either use the scanner to find a power hotspot (like the gas hotspot you found) or....
    Build 6 solar panels.
    Build 6 batteries.
Wire the panels to the batteries and then wire the batteries to the base. That should provide you enough power that the base will continue to run all the way through each night (providing it's not an extremely large base).
I use this set up for all my smaller bases. For medium sized ones, I up that to 8 panels, 8 batteries.

  • @soldjahboy

You don't need copper anymore after you find activated indium. Copper is a 1:1 conversion to chromatic metal, while activated indium is 1:4. Also, when building automated extractors there is an exponential depreciation on adding more. Ideal amount it usually like 4-5 extractors on a given network. Building more is a waste of power and materials. :)

I'm an experienced player and I had to remake my account. Within about 30 hours I has S Class experimental AND alien multitool, full length Freighter, 1 of each ship, several frigates, maxed out exosuit cargo and tech slots, one ship with maxed tech and cargo (Utopia Speeder), and all S Class upgrades.
I have all the exocraft blueprints and all the blueprints you buy with nanites, but not all the salvaged tech ones. I also have 10,000 of almost every stackable resource.
And this was a bit of sheer luck but I managed to find a system with all 6 different plant growing biomes, so I can grow all the plants out side without hydroponics (ie higher build cap / larger farms).
All I did was complete the Utopia mission then stand in the Nexus Station and use the "I need resources" gesture (sounds cheap but experienced players are happy to hook new players up with some fusion igniters which sell for billions).
Then I sold the ignitors and used the $$ to scrap ships for nanites and buy every resource I encountered that I did not yet have 10,000 of. I probably spent about an hour total mining and should never have to do it again. Even dihydrogen can be bought in the form OG dihydrogen jelly then broken down.
After that I found just 2 traveller's and used their 2 glyphs to warp me to the other 14. With all 16 glyphs, getting S-Class everything was a breeze.
There are no hard "classes" in this game but you can be a merchant, a warrior / pirate, an explorer, a base builder / engineer, a community leader, a Pokémon breeder, or a combo of those things. My friend ONLY does exploration and has 1000 hours in it. I spend most my time building bases on the insane planets he finds.
If anyone has any questions I'm happy to help!! I have a floating pyramid on a mega exotic giant mushroom planet in the core of the eissentam galaxy - I can meet you there on my turbo terrestial crab. Let me know if you need a flying worm mount or writhing flesh sphere companion!

About the economy, it's pretty straightforward really. Each system has an economy level (1-3), which the more it is, the more items you'll be able to buy from the station, a buy and sell % which are self explanatory, and multiple types of systems, for example Mining, Science and more.
Without ruining a lot about it, you can find systems that need a specific resource that can be only found in another specific system (for example Dirt can be only found in Mining Systems in which you can buy dirt cheap(ha ha get it?), and is needed in Manufacturing Systems which will buy them from you at a much higher price).
There's a way you can exploit the market by "crashing it". Basically you sell a shitton of a specific item (I'd go for cobalt since it's available everywhere and it's cheap to start with, and we're talking about 50k or 100k items to start with). That way the value of the item will be basically 0, and you can rebuy the cobalt for practically nothing. This can only be done once per system ( I think not sure if the economy recovers eventually, but take it to consideration), but considering you have basically an infinite amount of systems you should be fine.
Finally, you can always dupe high value items and sell them. But that's cheesing it too much so not recommended😂😂

My problem with this game so far is that it kinda has a so what situation going on… with nothing to do but explore pretty bland and repetitive procedurally generated planets with no real over arching story it leaves you with a feeling of so what. Like sure you can make farms and buy cool ships but at the end of the day there’s really nothing to do. It’s feels like a shallow game with a bunch of complicated artificial depth but maybe I’m just missing something.

not about the game but its just how real life works and how real space exploration would feel like, nothing has a story to it its all superficial so if you think of the game like that and just make it a real life space exploration simulation it might get more interesting

I would assume the reason you don't need translation for Artemis is that they are also a Traveller, and fellow Travellers never need translation it seems, and for lore reasons all Travellers speaking the same language kinda makes sense tbh (not getting into it bc spoilers - but I think it's just because they speak the same language as you, so they don't need to be translated at all in the first place)

Idk if you ended up figuring this out by the end or not, but you could actually take all the upgrades off your ship before selling it and it will still sell for the same price. A few of the starting components are unable to be removed, and you HAVE to have one weapon installed, but the rest you can remove and store in your inventory/ boxes and add them to your new one to save on time and money. The only thing that affects a ship's selling price is the class level and the number of unlocked cargo slots(tech slots don't matter; if you're ever looking to make a little more selling salvaged ships).
Also, for the love of all things holy, MAKE MORE EM TOWERS! You are trying to use solar panels on a dim planet and wonder why your farm isn't running? The power system emulates real life. If you have a draw of 50W and you're applying 25W, and for some reason your stuff won't work beyond a snails pace, add more power.

If you want to make alot of units. Go to a pirate spacestation. Buy illegal goods, Do a pirate mission, Return to the space station for your reward. Buy more illegal goods. Do another pirate mission... and collect your reward... and so on. After that go to a regular space station and sell all your illegal goods. And you'll make lots of units. Some pirate missions give you a reward where you can unlock an free slot for your spaceship. No need to grind for larve cores or storm cristals.
