I took the train from Glasgow to Alloa, 2 times every hour, last week and I was pretty impressed. One of the hidden gems when it comes to buses in Scotland is the bus 52 from Alloa via Tillicoultry and the Wallace Monument back to Stirling. I have actually put Alloa on my annual trips to do as the train tickets are reasonable (£ 16 return) and the coffee and breakfast at the Wetherspoon (The Bobbing John) was very good & cheap. Alloa is for me a new discovery and I will be back. That combined with a climb of the Wallace Tower (did it last year but a broken toe meant no climb last week). Take the train to Alloa and then the 52 bus back to Stirling and you will be both happy and impressed.
The ILiveHere ' survey' was based on two comments. I grew up and still live in Alloa. It has many problems but people are friendly, the history is great, the countryside is stunning😊. Unfortunately there was a lot of urban planning , sixties style but we have kept a lot of our bonny old buildings.
No way- was thinking more people completed the survey than leaving comments. But that makes complete sense - the survey isn't representative. Alloa is a lovely town and we'd definitely go back. 😊
My wife and i used to go there now and then and found it to ok, no worse than anywhere else. We live farther away now so we don't go as much. We found it to be an alright wee toun.
The title of this video does not really encourage me to watch it but I gave it a go and it was not a bad place. I liked the tower. The trouble with these so called surveys is that they encourage people to paint an amusing but inaccurate picture of a place and subsequent comments try to outdo each other in tales of street crime, drug use, teenage pregnancy, unemployment etc etc.. There may be a grain of truth in this but I'm sure there's plenty worse places. You should have checked out the Wetherspoon that would tell you a lot about a place. Thanks for giving this a try but I do prefer your trips to some of the beautiful places Scotland has to offer.
Thanks for taking the time for watching, really appreciate it!😊 We take these surveys with a pinch of salt as often, as you said, they paint an inaccurate picture of the place they're describing. Alloa is a place we've never been to and it definitely seemed that it has plenty to offer. 😊
@@terrifictraveltalesthank you for being so nice about Alloa. Yes, it has it's problem s but it gets unfairly criticised even by locals. Heck, even the local paper published this article. I think only bored teenagers post comments on ILiveHere😅
Lets NOT go to the crap places , we will just go to the nicer cleaner parts,, then state , awe its not to bad......show the lot ffs or get AF youtube, p/s you can hear the banjo's
Alloa's ok, I have family who live there, great vlog guys! like 3. 👍👍
That's cool! Think Alloa has got a lot to offer😊Thank you😊

That's exactly what we thought, too!
Alloa looks ok from this. I think they reopened the rail station there recently. Now if you want depressing towns surely Cumbernauld is your man!
Haha I've never been to Cumbernauld!😀 Yea, Alloa turned out to be pretty nice -just shows that this survey wasn't representative!
Aberdeen,,alloa,,,,probably just alphabetical??
Maybe your're on to something😀
ALLOA APPEARS TO HAVE ITS OWN SOCIAL PROBLEMS, BUT MOST CERTAINLY IS NOT THE WORST PLACE IN SCOTLAND AND HAS A NOT BAD WETHERSPOON.
It definitely isn't 😊
really has no one been to Falkirk town centre recently ?
Been to Falkirk a few weeks ago, but not the town centre. Will need to visit some time😃
Go see Wick pizza place doest open when you there
Thanks, will need to check out at some point😊
The only good thing to come out of Wick is the road South. 😂
@@user-xk4jx1xl7f Ha Ha haahaha haaa, hahaha ha

Scotland's most depressing town...blimey. Where do you even start?
😃
What a silly, pointless, juvenile video 👎🏻
Thanks😃
