I mean he already had a crappy childhood what with his mother dying from a heart defect, his dad being an abusive drunk, having to kill that dad after he tried to kill and the Yakuza forcing him to pay off his dad’s debts. And his story in part 1 didn’t give him a fair life as Kobeni tried to kill him out of free, Himeno tried to commit statutory rape on him while drunk, his first girlfriend Reze tried to kill him in their first date, he had to kill his best friend Aki when he was possessed by the gun devil and he watched his closest friend Power get killed by Makima. Part 2 didn’t bring him anything good in his life and Yoshida forced him to give up being Chainsaw Man or else he’ll kill his foster sister Nayuta, he went into a state of depression after the whole ordeal, his fans went crazy and started killing each other, even some of them turned against him because they thought he was a chainsaw man wannabe. Now he’ll lose everything given the direction Part 2 is going as his sister will either die or turn evil, his girlfriend Asa is fully possessed by the War Devil, Japan is in chaos and his fans turned against. The only thing Denji will do now is go to Russia and start taking drugs to cope with the pain.
