In this episode, I will show you how to use segments to create number sequence formats.
Number sequences are used to generate readable, unique identifiers for master data records and transaction records that require identifiers. A master data record or transaction record that requires an identifier is referred to as a reference.
Number sequences can be utilized to help easily identify certain types of records throughout the system just by adding a certain prefix or numbering convention to the number sequence that clearly indicates the type of record. In this video, we will walk through the basics of number sequences including what you need to know about the number sequence form, how number sequences actually work, how to create a new number sequence from scratch, and how to run the number sequence wizard.

The explanations of administrative procedures have good clarity and are to the point. Eg. Selection of vendor a/c allocation, in continuous mode and can be changed to pre-allocation mode, to avoid even a “fraction of second delay” during rusting of many vendor, for allocation, at times, are nice example. thanks again, you helped me troubleshoot an issue. I had a number sequence setup by default and it was all linked, but the numbers were still manual for Suppliers. But as you showed and explained it was because on my number sequence, it was set to 'Manual'. issue resolved. thank you

Can we have vendor type wise number sequence. For ex. Local vendor should start with LVEN and Foreign vendor should start with OVEN.
Hi Yogesh , this is a very common requirement . In D365 we can associate new number sequence at the vendor group or customer group level .

The vendor account number sequence must match the scope of the numbers sequences assigned to vendor groups. Clear the number sequences on the vendor groups and then select a new number sequence if the scope does not match." Please suggest me what to do in this case
