Swiss mill lathe guy checkin in. Thanks for the love! Your show and you titan are an inspiration to me! Thank you. I made it through a tough addiction and divorce and went through cnc and amm classes 6 months clean. Have stayed clean and been at the same job now with some stability ever since. I have big goals and big dreams and I love this trade. Been in carpentry and electrical trades and nothing clicks more for me than machining.

Running my own company, and change from KM to Capto system. Had big problem with broken KM holders, the connection is not strong enough. The best thing is that you can buy Capto from Coromant, Seco, Walter, Iscar, Tungaloy and more. And that is really good.
So changing from KM, to Capto is the best thing that I have done for my company.

Amazing ! I wish I could come out and see everything in your shop. Although I’d probably drown in my drool after seeing everything. My sons have bought out the shop I started in 1976 . Going to Chicago for IMTS was always a highlight . Doing what you are is very commendable though considering there are no conventions as of now. Although it was so great to be able to check out all the other manufactures in one place. Not to mention the fun parties out there. One of my favorite cities. The boys just bought their first Doosan . Very impressive. The majority of our CNC lathes are Miyanos but this is a great addition. I would highly recommend to anyone. A big thanks for all you do to promote our industry. Keep these great videos coming.

Beautiful stuff Titan, I have been watching your RUclips channel for at least 2 years now. I have worked at a local machine shop for 10 years and have come to the point of starting my own machine shop. I have 2 Doosan machines on order and also get the Gerstner (Thanks to your BOOMBASTIC!! Event). Titan, I would love to meet you someday.
You are such an inspiration to the whole industry. I want to machine GREATNESS!! BOOM!!

@@TITANSofCNC I need you serious guidance Titan. I work in a shop that’s to say that I work at Ford motor co. I’m a bit distressed, no one is held to accountability. I hold myself to a higher standard, I’m the one that needs to prove my salt. I have had good and bad experiences with this trade, would love to get on that academy for cnc, I love this stuff. Between the journeyman and the guys that know how to operate. I never get real time. I need some guidance bro👍🏻

Good Stuff!! You want to deburr your thread from the top down using the 35 deg. finisher. No need to rerun the finishing tool. Just deburr last thread and first thread top down. Then a single deburr pass with your topping insert. This part will have a burr on the first thread.

I know that you already know this, but the dual spindle turret lathe with live tooling is pretty great, but its limitations are its small capacity for tools and tool interference. Tool interference is probably the biggest downside because often times the ideal tool location for one job is horrible for the next. This makes these kinds of machines great for high volume runs, but usually horrible for low production runs. The better of these types of machines are B axis machines that just grab the tools from a tool changer. No interference, greater tool selection, and much less setup time, with the very slight drawback that tool indexing time is less. I know that you know this all too well, as you have a Doosan MYNX.

Its been 3 years, you know this by now. but for everybody else: Yep. You should not be operating a multi-spindle without the knowladge to use it effectively like this commenter. We always see people trying to use our systems with very very little understanding! LOM makes big big money, but only with smart people behind it

You were the person that inspired me to learn more about the machining and making a better specialist of myself. So here is the q: What should i do if my employer just keeps tellin` me that i`m not good enough to earn more money for the job while I make his Job Shop more efficient every single day?

Schunk makes great stuff, but I would primarily have a setup this machine with a set of Royal collets on both spindles.....Almost all your clearance problems would go away. Put the Schunks on it for bigger diameter parts. Keep up the Boombastic, and thank your team for all you do!

    Nice part Titan
You could have saved some time by increasing the size of the 1st pass on the second time the threading tools came back in
Also would probably have come in with different tool to hog most of the material in the bore on R/H chuck

Do you guys furnish the raw materials (blocks) for machining, or does the end user / customer make those purchase and shipping arrangements..? I am a total novice, (brand new world for me) and am in design phase of a project that possibly will encompass 5 individual part milling sessions from possibly stainless steel. Final material TBD.

If you were going to run this part lights out to the quality that you demand how would you automate the chip removal to ensure that no bird nests interfere with or hung-up on the tooling or are left in the part on completion.
Any automation possible for checking the thread on the fly?
I can see possibility to accurately check the external thread the internal thread is more problematic to check accurately and harder on physical gauges.
Probably not worth the additional setup time unless you were making thousands a month.
Have you ever used abrasive brushes for internal burr mitigation you have powered tooling you could easily set up a number of brushes only problem is they catch stringer chips and birds nests best used on the second operation anyway.
You have high pressure coolant that can be used to flush many of these problems off the tooling.
Lot of things to think about sometimes they can be added in with a little pain.
A ton of shit to think about in the overall picture in a part shop, in a dedicated production shop that's a whole nother beast because the machine can be dedicated to making a number of similar parts opens itself up for more detailed chip management.
Stainless chips do not break up well in fine cuts leaving stringy razor sharp bird nests that just beg you to reach out and touch them only to pull back a bloody paw.

I got a job at a smallish brewery in Western North Carolina on the canning line. The training is pathetic. There is no trainer. You are just supposed to jump right in there. There is 5 different computerised machines. they just throw people at the line. I do what I can without any documented formal training. When they change over it take hours to get thje canning line running. Dumb.

Let me guess you work a boring 9:00 to 5:00 no skill required job break Free get a real job real skill you be Boombastic too.
Only to be surrounded by a bunch of snot-nosed self-centered irresponsible undisciplined people jamming unrealistic social attack driven society down your throat now that will put a frown on a clown.
What's it going to take to get people to realize there is no free
Socialism means one thing and that is there are no special people no unique anything everything is going to be the same if you even think a little different than the next guy you don't fit society and the problem just begins there there's only room at the top for a handful of people dictating their will to the masses.
All things will play to the lowest common denominator if allowed.

Why in such kind of shows from the us, all is "BOOMBASTIC", "FANTASTIC", "INSANE!!!", FASTER!BETTER!MORETITANIC!!11! and so on. Weird, if all the cnc-machinists on the planet would talk and act like this, when they just doing their job. Whats "insane" on using a cam-system and speedrates that given from the developer? I just can't take that kind of behavior seriously.
