    • @EmerPrevost
      @EmerPrevost  9 лет назад +17

      +9UndeadLives Is it? What message would that be? As far as I can tell, the film has two possible messages. The obvious one is "don't trust your friends when they tell you a total stranger is cool". The only other message the movie seems to want to carry is "if you have a more popular friend who talks to strangers on the internet, they will be kidnapped (because internet, amirite?), you will be blamed for it for no discernible reason, and you yourself will be kidnapped (again...because internet)".
      This thing didn't have a valid message to deliver, dude. If it did, it failed miserably at it.

    • @lefty2429

      +Emer Prevost I think it's one of those films that was created just for the last ten minutes. Not only that, it's all just for shock value. A documentary about internet safety would have been ten times more informative than this. Sorry you had to suffer through this garbage Emer.

    • @9UndeadLives
      @9UndeadLives 9 лет назад +6

      Emer Prevost Well, i think the message is for kids to be careful on the internet, hell even adults, because there are cases like this happening in real life.. that's probably what makes it creepy for me. As far as the production it is really bad... but for some reason that ending stuck with me.... and this is after i have already seen most of the "shocking" films people suggest..

    At first I was a bit angry at you for not even trying to give this film a chance, as I remember it being enjoyable, and the ending *was* rather creepy (but not in the way what was done by... Josh was his name, yes? - but how this man did it. The speech, the flat emotions, treating victims like kids, etc.); and it looked like you've started watching just to give some negative critique.
    But then, gosh, I am absolutely agreeing to you. The film *was* very boring and looked very staged. Maybe that's why the ending is so enjoyable: it's like a contrast shower. While there's 40 minutes of nothing going on on the screen, the switch to something that has even a little bit of action is.... like "Sweet Mother of God, praise This Film, Finally!".
    It was disturbing to me at the moment I saw it, but, I think, my own moodiness was playing a bigger part then an actual... "plot twist", for the lack of better word. After all, I was in a rather sensitive mood for reasons I can't really remember. Besides, I bought the "based on a real thing" stuff without checking twice. My bad.
    I really don't think the dialogues and story is improvised, as you can almost see how actors read their lines, trying to remember what to say next.
    I can not agree with you on the looks of the actrecess, though. I'm not sure how old are you, exactly, but I'm assume approximately my age or a little younger, which is mid-thirties (sorry if I missed with that), but I've a little sister, who's fourteen years younger then me, and I actually was kinda-sorta-friends with her friends. And most of those girls, even when being 13 or 15 looked as old as, say my 27 y.o. girlfriend now. Kids change, yanno, when I was 13-15, girls looked like kids; modern teens look more alike to rather awkward adults. Not all of them, but so many.

    • @EmerPrevost
      @EmerPrevost  7 лет назад +13

      You seem to be missing a few points here. First off, I wasn't watching someone being raped. I was watching a rape scene in a movie. You are making them sound like one and the same. They aren't.
      Second, you are right. Rape is a horrible thing. When a filmmaker utilizes it in their movie, they are looking for a strong emotional reaction from the viewer, knowing how disgusting the act is. When done well, a rape scene can get the make the viewer feel something most other films simply cannot do. When the scene is poorly shot, poorly reasoned, or just feels randomly thrown in, the emotional weight they were hoping for vanishes, and it vanishes fast.
      At the end of the day, you are taking a piece of fiction, and blowing it out of proportion. It would be no different than complaining about how I reacted to a murder scene.

      The fact that "M" is the only example you bring up (and at least multiple times according to the comment section in thus video) tells me that you want to beg people to watch it because stating the message once or twice doesn't get your point across. At least, that's what I got out of your comment.

      You don’t seem to understand that Emer chose to watch the movie based on requests. Yes, he could’ve easily passed on watching it, but it was his decision to watch it. You using the “If you don’t like it, don’t watch it” card is not going to help at all. Did you just want him to stop the movie before it even came close to the end? Doesn’t work that way on this series. And if it trying to be a PSA, then it failed miserably.

    It bothers me that he's standing there talking shit stuff about the movie when this is based off a true story they just tried to make it accurate . This is one of those type of movies you DON'T review. This movie was made for awareness and for justice to Megan . Also can you even do better ? Can you ?

      @@bumbobamblegogglestrothemt7577 No it is not, it is based on various different crimes; there is no true story about a girl named Megan Stewart.

      It would be nice if you could stop spamming the comments with a link to the same fucking thing. It makes you look desperate for attention.

      He kinda has to talk considering it's a review. Either you're unbelievably stupid or just new to the art of trolling. Judging by your vocabulary, I'm willing to bet my money you're stupid though.
