The Thundermod on the Modulator actually sounds exactly like the Thunderbolt so when then Thunderbolt is facing away it’s difficult to tell which one is what. Pretty cool. Great ambience!
ThunderMod Level 5 sounds cool as hell, but now that they've been changed to Level 8 tones, it just doesn't sound right. Plus, the higher pitched levels now sound much quieter and much less like Thunderbolts, which is what the tones themselves were programmed to replicate.
Yeah I'm not digging these ThunderMod sirens. I prefer the old tones mostly because of how cool it sounds in the weather and how far it carried through the high winds through the EF5 in 2013. I'll tell you that much. I've been to moore in 2017 I believe on the exact same day Dillon Carpenter recorded the sirens. I was in an area where a mod was about 2 miles away from me and I could hear it from afar. I think these ThunderMods are ok to say the least but the old tones carry farther.
