- Old Ones were the race of one of the mightiest psychic beings in the galaxy. They have overseen the creation of multiple races and they themselves created what is now known as a Webway. They have also possessed the gift of immortality that the Necrontyr so direly desired.
This gifted proved to be the reason for the entire War in Heaven and Old Ones eventual fall.

Yeah, the Necrontyr were a bunch of jerks, but if the Old Ones had been a little bit more empathetic, they would never have fallen to the C'Tan. In that way the Old Ones remind me of the Emperor: extremely smart and powerful and yet so arrogant and uncaring that it becomes their doom.

Well, yes but all Aeldari mythology is probably enough for another album, and we are currently only aware of really small part of it.

@@AbominableIntelligence101 oh nice. Also I would like to mention when I was showing my dad the night bringer video. He brought up a really good point vocals get drowned out by the music. I tried to show it to him and he didn't like it at all whereas with your other he says it's easier to distinguish the vocals from the instruments.

Tbh we really don't know why they hate each other so much. We don't think that this subject is delved by any canon publications. At least none that we know of, but we will think if this is a subject that we can do something with in the future 😉
Honestly it's probably because the C'tans are anathama to the old one's philosophy where one eats starts regardless of life it sustains
It's possible that there was an ancient war between the Old Ones and the C'tan, that C'tan lost and were hiding after it until The War in Haven, but the source of this information was Deceiver, convincing Necrontyr to biotransfere, so... maybe? As for why there was a war, probably C'tan tried to eat something and Old Ones weren't fans of that :)
Ok, so the C'tan had no contact with anyone before the necrontyr made them metal bodies.
The whole idea that they warred on the Old Ones came from the Deceiver to gain the necrontyr's trust.
But the Old Ones did have immensely powerful souls, and (this is poorly explained) the C'tan love eating not the soul but the "life" that it's physical body has (the two are linked I guess? C'tan don't eat souls but you lose it if they drain your life)
So they basically got the entire war going so they could feast on all the races the Old Ones created and eventually consume the Old Ones themselves.
The C'tan (and all the gods really) are primarily driven by hunger.

But far as we know the necrontyr were the only ones that we know of who had direct contact with the C'tan
Perhaps the necrontyr weren't a creation of the old ones and were life that evolved on its own and maybe those created by the old ones were being watched so the necrontyr were a open target
