    Two peace chants with meaning

    Jihwaa me madhumattamaa
    Karnaabhyaam bhoori vishruvam
    Brahmanah Koshoasi medhayaapihitah
    Shrutam me gopaaya
    Om shantih shantih shantih!
May He, the Lord of all, pre-eminent among the Vedas and superior to the nectar contained in them, bless me with
wisdom! May I be adorned with the knowledge of Brahman that leads to immortality! May my body become
strong and vigorous (to practise meditation)! May my tongue always utter delightful words! May I hear much with
my ears! Thou art the scabbard of Brahman hidden by worldly taints (not revealed by impure, puny intellects).
May I never forget all that I have learnt! Om peace, peace, peace!
    3:55

The Mover of the Tree I am; my fame like the mountain’s peak. The High One making (me) pure, I am the very Immortal One as He is in the sun; I am the Lustrous Wealth. Of High wisdom (I am), immortal, undecaying. So runs Trisanku’s teaching of wisdom.

    Revered Swamiji Maharaj,
My humble query is, despite having heard, read, known, understood the truth that The Vedanta teaches, why we end up dwelling in the lower state and fail to connect with the Higher one after several efforts? Why this connection is so short-lived? What is that element which acts against the realization of the truth in our lives? How to resolve this paradox? The dichotomy of having known the truth yet failing miserably to live by same is indeed distressing. Kindly advise. Regards.

Hi Nilanjan, if you check Q&A sessions of Swami Sarvapriyananda on you tube, you see this very question has been answered in few of the talks, I am not exactly sure which ones. The gist of answer is that we have not achieved the qualification in our mind, and hence we only intellectual grasp this, but it is futile as the intellect is also part of the unqualified mind, so it become another idea or concept to play around for your ÄHAM (ego). I am also struggling like you, but I keep praying to my Ishta Deva to help me on the path for these qualifications.

Vedanta says that it is this one self, or Brahman, in everyone. At the same time it also says the source of our suffering is the one consciousness is tricked into believing it is this body, let's say, my body. If it is the omniscient, how did it get tricked into believing it is my body? Even more so, if it is omniscient "and singular", how does it get tricked into believing it is my body, and for example, in the case of Richard Dawkins, that it is his body, both at the same time?

    • @RareTechniques
      @RareTechniques 6 лет назад +1

      Hello
It is only omniscient if you identify with it as that.
The secret is the mind. Dont identify with thoughts.

Aloneness and silence are two aspects of one experience, two sides of the same coin. If one wants to experience silence one has to go into one´s total aloneness. It is there.
We are born alone, we die alone. Between these two realities we create a thousand and one illusions of being together - all kinds of relationships, friends and enemies, loves and hates, nations, races, religions. We create all kinds of hallucinations just to avoid one fact: that we are alone. But whatsoever we do, the truth cannot be changed. It is so, and rather than trying to escape from it, the best way is to rejoice in it.
Rejoicing in your own aloneness is what meditation is all about. The meditator is one who dives deep into one´s aloneness, knowing that we are born alone, we will be dying alone, and deep down we are living alone. So why not experience what this aloneness is? It is our very nature, our very being.
    - Osho
