  • Welcome to BVRC - 134! As August heat sets in and life slows down across Spain, Tenerife's Buenavista Rural Club continues to thrive. In this episode, we go through the challenges of a scorching summer to ensure our projects don't stall. From beekeeping activities that keep our bees safe, hydrated and productive, to the exciting task of building a stable for our horse, we are dedicated to keeping the Rancho buzzing with life and energy.
Join us as we dive into the daily efforts to maintain productivity at Buenavista. Despite challenging conditions, our commitment to bees and sustainable building processes in Tenerife remains strong. In this video, we take you through how we care for our bees in the summer and the steps to ensure our horse has a safe and comfortable place to stay. Even the August heat can't stop us from achieving our goals at Buenavista Rural Club!

Building and restoring on an old stone farmhouse over 100 years old, Restoring wood, clearing brambles off farmland, growing vegetables, using my tractor on farmland, flail mowers, piva trailer (I call it my Harley Davidson), planting vegetables, cats, Visto the Cat, stone walls, building dry stone walls in Tenerife,
    𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
An abandoned stone farmhouse, off-grid, 248,000 sq m of farm (on a 48 hectare estate) in Tenerife. Follow our journey as we clear the land of a thorny problem: blackberry brambles and giant weeds. The 150-year-old farmhouse has been abandoned for over 50 years. No electricity, no water, no sanitation and very dangerous roofs. This is about the conversion of Buenavista Rural Club. A place where young adults will be able to come on holiday to Tenerife and stay in nearby hostels, spending their days on the farm learning about renewable energy - solar and wind - how to find water, grow crops, look after animals, whilst participating in a Reality TV Show released once a week on this RUclips channel. Visitors of all ages can come and enjoy walks of different skill and fitness levels. Also people can sit and admire the view whilst the Group walk and exercise.

The Buenavista Rural Club will be one of the top things to do in Tenerife, for all ages, but especially for kids. You can stay the night close by at the www.alberguebol... Bolico Hostel, set in the Teno Rural Park and spend the days at the Buenavista Rural Club in El Palmar. (watch our video review at: • BVRC075 Albergue Bolic... ) With evening trips to local towns: Los Silos, Buenavista del Norte and Garachico - visits to local cafes & bars and meet with local people of similar ages.
Goats, chickens, donkeys will all create a genuine farm atmosphere. Crops: oats, potatoes, vegetables, fruits, avocados, oranges, olives are grown from the fertile soil.
The massive farm includes many acres of forest, with footpaths and magical clearings to explore and enjoy. The deep laurisilva forest is a protected environment so you can access the natural landscape of Tenerife’s natural history. Running across the farm is the historic path of the Spaniards from when they first conquered the Island. The track can be walked from end to end.
Star gazing by night can be enjoyed like in few other places. The extremely low levels of light pollution means that the stars can be seen clearly, and the farm goes up above the clouds, so you get uninterrupted views of the heavens.
Monte de las Aguas means the mountain of the waters. The weather in this part of the island can be very hot during the day and cool at night. The area enjoys a micro climate that can change rapidly from dry to wet and from hot to cold. Being prepared for such conditions is important, so visitors should be prepared for all outcomes.
