Episode 8 of Steins;Gate 0 and it's parallelism to Episode 22 of the original Steins;Gate series absolutely broke me. I don't think I've ever cried so much over a piece of media in my lifetime. It was truly special.
I remember when i first watched 0 i thought it was even better than the first season. Seeing the protag suffer that hard really resonated with me. Maybe its because i watched it during some troubling times, but the pain portrayed felt raw and real. Exceptional video as always, your uploads are superb
I don't know if it's intentional but - In Japan the first human bone was found around 18000 BC and there is where Mayuri and Suzuha were trapped. Okabe reaches there and saves them. But , Okabe's time machine can only carry 2 people and he sacrificed himself in order to be "dead" in 2025 AD and then probably the bone found would be of Okabe.
I remember being scared to watch Steins;Gate 0 after hearing mixed reception on how good it was. But man did I enjoy it, it's made me appreciate S;G so much more. Phenomenal recap, although I might just re-watch it all again anyway... El Psy Kongroo
Heh, I played Zero right after finishing Steins; Gate on my Vita. I remember not really liking Zero that much, mostly because of the lack of Kurisu. One of the finest and the most consistent works of time travel hijinks ever made. Yes, its a bit convoluted to grasp properly, but writing time travel stories without contradiction is a monstrous task, since its very easy to end up with back to the future level of awfully inconsistent time travel rules. Or, for a more aesthetically similar counterpart to steins gate, the zero escape series, particularly zero time dilemma where the time travel rules are beyond godawful and end up ruining the entire series. I think the only other series I've come across with consistent time travel rules are the Potter books, where the rules are too simplistic to be broken/abused, Cursed Child or whatever that play was notwithstanding.
Im not gonna lie, steins gate was such a good series that any follow up would be disapointing in comparison, but 0 was just... kinda depressing to sit through, and not in a "this makes me feel sad because its good" way more of a "im just sad that its not as good"
Too bad that they are jumping timelines not changing history so every single time jump is followed by everyone else living out their doomed existence in that universe
D-Mails rewrite the current timeline, and Okabe can perceive the changes because he's special, somehow. The microwave phone works similarly, where the memories of a person are send back (or forwards) in time to the same timeline, thus allowing that person to rewrite the timeline. But during the entirety of the series there's only one "real" timeline at any given time, the only thing that changes is what "real" means
@@XceptionalBro This dudes first video on steinsgate explained thats not the case though? they are jumping over to very very similar other "strand" timelines Thats the entire basis for the 0-1 scale they have to overcome to actually fully switch universes
It's not a single timeline. It is a multiverse parallel to each other. It only looked like one because we are watching from Okabe's POV. For him, the timeline he currently observes is the "true timeline" or Steins Gate.
I CANT WAIT TO WATCH THIS! your videos are always so nice to watch and you do an amazing job explaining complex stories and a lesson it can teach at the end, love your work sock Sensei
I love Steins;Gate and had very mixed feelings about 0. This reframed it in a way that makes it more positive for me. I had never thought about the necessity for an Okabe in the future to suffer so much for Okabe to get to Stein;Gate. Watching this man suffer over and over after getting the fairy tale ending just was so hard to stomach. I think if we didn't get the fairy tale ending til after 0, and if 0 came out sooner, it would've both been a more cohesive story and not left such a mixed reception as we who love Okabe hated seeing him suffer again. However, they are VN adaptations, so there's nothing that could really be done about the necessary creative decisions.
like everyone here said. this is indeed a very good vidio thanks for making it. it left a reflective imprresion after i done watching it. keep up the good work
The first missile is fired from an AH-64 Appache, a US attack helicopter. It's not Russian. The other helo is a Russian Hind Gunship. Plus, there's the UH-60 Blackhawk that was mentioned. They mention two possible US groups: DARPA and the Mercs. So, there's three gov/mil factions at play towards the end.
Oh so when someone makes a fan-made game called "palworld," Japan throws a fit and Nintendo busts out the lawyers, but an anime studio using "Goodle" as a search engine is totally fine and definitely not trademark or copyright infringement at all
0 is a heavily flawed but great story. I watched the anime first and loved it, read the VN and loved it and felt conflicted. Because how the story is laid out, aspect as to be compromised in the anime such as Yuki/kagari, and the alternate endings exploration that had to be cut to edited to one singular story. Nonetheless, we know the ending- and we know how it begins/ends but it’s a matter the events that happens between and only, the mad scientist’s fate can determine such obstacle
Thus proving the bioshock infinite theory of alternate overlapping timelines and simultaneous awareness of them scrambling your brains into incoherent garbage brainrot. On a side note anyone seen Coherence? 💀👍
Steins;Gate just had its 15th anniversary! Let's get ready for a new Steins;Gate sequel... Either Steins;God (Or Steins;???) I HOPE THAT IT GETS ANNOUNCED.
Yooooo Sock, when are you gonna make a video breaking down Naruto and its intricacies, it feels like nowadays people discredit it as yet another meat head shonen when there are deeper layers to its symbolism and depth such as nirvana, the paths, child soldiers, nationalism and so forth
Given my memories of alternate timelines, how they've played out, and how I still remember these variant timelines in detail, like I live them actively myself, I feel very connected to this show, to the decision to send memories back to the past, as well as alter the trajectory of time itself. I know what it's like to experience death in this timeline, and still come back, as well as in other timelines, that have jumped to this one. I had the most amazingly painful and profound temporal experience in 2018, time being distorted so much that my sister and my mom noticed it when I didn't. They said that the closer they got to me and my home the slower time got, inside the house they said time stood still. Leaving they said it felt like time was trying to catch up. It weirded them out. I didn't notice because I was the source, I was ground zero. I still get memories, events not ours to experience, as well as events that have yet to be. They come to me every day. I call the chronologically required events "Nexus Events" as timelines overlap and collapse their Tangent threads to allow them to join into one, the temporal fusion of entire timelines creates entirely new possibilities on an amazing scale. In 2018 I gained enlightenment as this profound moment following my death and revival occurred (heart attack, dead for 40 minutes, long story...) I kept telling everyone I lived with and knew that "it can't be changed, they can't undo what I have done to the timeline, there isn't anything they can do, killing me won't stop it, and it will happen no matter what now. Nothing Can Stop What Is Coming." I had experience this ultimate connection to my future self who wanted to alter the past, he sacrificed his/my life, everything that was supposed to be, in order to make it happen. My "happily ever after" that was supposed to be had to not occur, because the reality it would create couldn't be allowed to occur. It had to be sacrificed so that humanity could stand a chance at having a true future, despite how bleak it would start to seem. That version of me showed me everything one year before I died, everything I was supposed to experience, with a life review (look up Near Death Experiences, mine was a dream one year before my death, literally one full year exact) as if my life had just ended. I will never forget who I love and why. She means the cosmos to me. I'd do anything for her, even if it means being very alone, and sacrificing my happiest known timeline, on a gamble for something permanent. The best part is, this is a comment on a RUclips video, and I do not like to lie, because the truth is so hard to believe, and nobody would dare to accept this comment as being honest, let alone true, and that makes this the perfect venue for telling you all something I live with every single day. I have experienced more in just 33 linear years of your timeline, than any of you could hope to in thousands of lifetimes, and not a single one of you is going to believe me. That was always how I kept hidden. Complete honesty, in plain sight, in the places where this gets seen as delusion. Here's a reference for you: "I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf mutes."
